Simply gorgeous. It was quiet, with an amazing view. I could have just sat next to the water for hours.

The lake is very clean. Park is well maintained. You can bring your dogs in tge mornings to swim and play with other dogs.

Despite the fact that there is often a lot of goose poop everywhere this is a great place to cool off at in the summer. Generally somewhat busy in the afternoons it has been pretty crazy busy on hot days during Covid. Definitely more packed than usual. Its nice to just swim around or float in your floaties. Has a good amount of shallow area for younger kids. Bathrooms are alright and you can rent pedal boats and the little there. Ive seen lots of Sups there too.

Definitely a beautiful park on the lake. One of my favorites for visiting all year around.

Very nice lake and park! There are sand volleyball courts and nets, a bridge and dock to jump off of, sand for the kids to build sand castles and play in, BBQs to cook with. The bathrooms were actually surprisingly pretty clean and so was the actual park itself. A lot of people but that is to be expected. Id go again!

A beautiful place to walk around on a crisp fall morning..

Fun place for the kiddos to swim and the adults to hang out. The playground is closed during covid-19, which is a bummer... But more reasons to enjoy the water on warmer days. Love this place!

This park would be best for parties or gatherings, with lots of open space for sports or activities.

Sadly, yet another rancid Puget Sound duck toilet. The swimming area/beach was open today and pretty crowded. It would be really nice if the water quality was better, but I smell pretty fowl after one swim. The scenery was beautiful though.

We love coming here on hot days to cool off. Its very clean except there can be a lot of goose poop sometimes. There is a bathroom.

Beautiful location. Sad to see so many without masks who werent swimming. I should be saying, there was so much life energy there. Families and kids playing, laughing. The day was absolutely gorgeous and the moment special.

Really cool spot. Fun to get on the lake, even if you dont have a boat you can rent paddle board for the day.

It’s a very common and popular place to swim because of all the space it offers but the bathrooms are almost never clean, there’s duck poop everywhere and I always get sick from the water there

Bring a volleyball bring your boat. They have little bbqs u can use. Public bathrooms. A little stand that sells ice cream. You can rent kayaks or a pedal boat.

Had a blast!!!!!!! My daughter and grandson played in the water. There is wheelchair accessibility and clean bathrooms. The park was clean and well kept

(Edit: This is actually supposed to be for Whatcom Falls Park located across the street.) Beautiful park with lots of trails to walk. Walked over 7 miles today without really thinking about it. Plenty of waterfalls and a fish hatchery nearby. Highly recommend, especially with dogs and/or children.

Bloedel Park is a great high energy spot on Lake whatcom for swimming BBQ and outdoor activities. Lots of people here hanging out but not so many as to make it feel crowded.

I used to absolutely love this place, but now when the weather is right its overcrowded and grungy from all the people. It isnt as welcoming as it was in prior years

Great place to swim in the summer and the water is pretty shallow, no life guards. There are also kayak rentals and a volleyball court and a playground. In general a nice spot to go swimming or have a picnic/barbecue because there are little grills that you can use

Invited to visit Bellingham last July, Im so pleased I said yes. Bellinghams managing public resources like this one with a lot of care, and it shows here.Great for a walk alone or with friends and loved ones, or even for a business meet-up. All the public parks shine like this one. Hope to visit them all.

An oversized Lake that always packed in the summertime.

Bloedel Donavan park is one of my favorite parts of bellingham. We arent in Cali, so in the way of beaches we take what we can get and bloedel Donavan is a small sacrifice. A couple of volleyball courts and plenty of open space on the water make it a very welcoming area to take a dip. Careful though, you might have some fun!

Pretty nice chill area with a great place to take the kids to play. Dont really go there in the summer but in the slow season I like.

Convenient and pleasant lake public beach with not too slimy sand getting not the water and pretty shallow for quite a distance. No lifeguards that I saw. Beach volleyball and kayak/paddle rental options in the summer. Can be crowded but usually find parking within a few minutes and then a spot not too close to other people by the water.

It is a really nice park and a great place to take kids. Very clean and well maintained and good place to send out kayaks or other small boats. I would suggest to anyone looking to get to the lake on a warm-hot day.

One if my favorite parks in Bellingham. The city has done a good job keeping the ducks and geese from pooping every where. My children love to swim there it fairly shallow for a while so we can have fun.

Randomly drove here for a swim with the wife and kids and it was perfect. Nice little playground and a dock too. Also you can rent boats. A1 100% very clean even with geese poo =)

Been going to bloedel donovan park since I was a kid; so for over 30 years now. Its a great place to go swimming and to hang out during the summer months.

Beautiful park. Excellent swimming spot and also there is a paddle board and kayak stand that you can rent for under $20. Best swimming hole Ive found in Bellingham so far!

This is the perfect park for families. My daughter loves the play ground and my son loves the beach. My husband and I enjoy the WiFi! Something for everyone. Free parking, clean bathrooms, very gradual entry lake.

Beautiful park, would recommend it to anyone that is in the area on a sunny day. The lake is gorgeous and plenty of activities to do for the kiddos, huge play ground and boat rentals.

Boat launch has been a epic fail lately. People who dont know how to back a trailer up. And people not pulling forward when getting out.

Took Baby Gorgeous to toddler time in the gym...it was awesome!

Bellingham has so many wonderful spots and this popular location doesnt disappoint. With lovely lawn spaces, play grounds and a water sports area, its got much to offer for a family park date, or gathering with friends. It also offers a sweet event space for meetings.

Beautiful park, with helpful information on how grass can pollute the water. They have a filtration system there that protects the lake from most pollution. Also, they have an invasive species check station for your boat before you launch and a cleaning station to clean your boat before you leave the lake. Lake well kept in my opinion and I think all lakes should be like this in whatcom and surrounding counties.

A great place to go swimming in the summer. They do need to bring back the docks in the swimming area and Life Guards. Nice place to launch a boat also.

I love taking my kids here on hot days. Theres a decent size playground and lots of shade. Plus its a bit nostalgic to me because this is where I learned to swim and where I swam the most when I was a kid.

Its a great place to hangout, swim, and have fun on a summer day, but really stinks how theres limited spots to set up at due to how much geese poop there is all over. Thats the only downside.

Great place to bring the dogs in the AM. The dogs here seem to be better than most of the other parks in town and people are actually paying attention which is helpful.

I love this place because the water is clear. There is plenty of space for you to lay your towels out in the the sun or the shade..... Although some did steal my sandles!

Lots of birds poop everywhere, water is not the cleanest in the area that kids are swimming. Usually over packed, but a better place in the area for a few hours to play.

Donovan park is amazing! The view on the water is beautiful and the park is kept very clean. Places to grill and have an amazing time.
