My family spent 3 days 2 nights at Larrabee State Park/Beach. Did you know its the VERY 1ST STATE PARK in WA? I didnt either and Ive lived in this area for 20yrs!Dozens and Dozens of beautiful hiking trails that take you all through this lush rainforest in North America. Most trails are easy going and enjoyable for all ages. Freshest air on the planet. Thats a fact. Moderate Temps between 65-75 during the day. Spectacular views of the Splendid San Juan Islands, etc, etc, etc. People are quiet and relaxed. Its a place to relax and enjoy the fresh outdoors and still be 20 minutes from town. If you wanna relax, go kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking, enjoy Gods Greenest part of earth, etc..., then come here. If you wanna be wildly loud, party like a fool, annoy your nearby campers and leave trash, go to CA! This is natures tranquility.

Nice drive along the coast that leads to the park. Got a feeling of rain forest not far from Bellingham. The walk to the beach was truly scenic, long rain forest trees leading to picnic area and then the train tracks under which a tunnel leading to the beach. Best part was seeing the freight train go through the state park blowing horn. Restrooms and picnic area available at every access point. Discovery Pass required to park inside the Park.

Campground sites are pretty big and located in a forest. Restroom has individual cabins that is a bonus. You can drop a boat at marina and park a car near by. Very convenient. Water was warm enough for swimming. Good place for crabbing. Train is rare and did not bother anybody from my family or friends.

Absolutely beautiful. Definitely a must see. The trails that lead up to it are short but beautiful. Being next to the tracks when the train comes by is also pretty humbling. Keep an eye out for any squished objects around the tracks!

We had a great time. Its four stars instead of five because of the multiple train passings in the night are very noisy and its a bit of a hike to the beach but otherwise a great place to camp. Kids bike the loops of the campground over and over. Some very spacious and private sites. Multiple bathroom buildings and many water taps.

We went camping at Larrabee State Park over the weekend in July. The park has pretty much all outdoor activities available like hiking, camping, swimming, beach, etc. Everything is close to one another so it’s convenient and we were able to squeeze in multiple activities in just 2 days. The state park is next to Bellingham which makes it easy to buy supply (firewood, food, etc) for camping. The only drawback is the location of the campground. It is right next to the railroad & the train starts running early morning.

Possibly the most beautiful state park out there! Beware of driving in from the south though if you are pulling a trailer - the road is narrow and full of rock outcroppings. We were able to pull our 30 trailer without issue, but it was a nail biter! The campgrounds were amazing and very family friendly. Great climbing rock, easy access to the beach and lots of places to explore. The train noise bothered some people in our group, and a few sites are pretty close to the road, but this park still ranks up toward the top of our favorites among the WA state parks!

Larabee is a great park, lots of friendly families for kids to meet. The walk to the beach is great and it was a clean campground. The campground was t selling ice or fire wood due to keep covid exposure to a minimum we were told. Hiking up chuckanaut is a great way to explore and has some great biking trails for all levels. Only two negatives are the frequency of the train which isnt terrible but worth noting. However chuckanaut road is quite busy with many people at night racing their cars which can be extremly loud and ruin the point of camping. We will be back but probably wont stay as long next time.

This is Washingtons first state park. It has beautiful trails, grassy area, awesome views, access to beach, . IMO, not a good choice for camping as it is right next to the rail line. Very well maintained. You can do hiking as well. If you are coming from Seattle, make sure to take exit-231 from I-5 and come by WA-11. You would enjoy beautiful Chuckanut drive.

This beach is part of Larrabee State park with many amenities like restroom, picnic shelter, grasslawns, open auditorium. Plenty of Parking which costs day pass or yearly pass(which also let you enjoy several other parks in state). Beach is rocky as well as sandy, choose per your convenience.

Camping at Larabee state park was amazing!!! We had an issue with a rude person, but the park ranger got that settled quickly and professionally. The atmosphere is beautiful, watching sunset with my love at the beach was breathtaking. The trains did come a few times, but we are locals and are pretty used to the train schedule. Our site had some drainage issues, but that is noted on the website. Our site had good privacy and the bathrooms were clean. We definitely will be coming back!!

The campground is nice with a surprising number of hookup spots for a state park, and the bathrooms are decent for a state park as well.Unfortunately the rail line that runs right next to the campground gets a lot of traffic at night and they must be required to blare the horn when passing through Larrabee because I can assure you that you will be awakened by them.Otherwise its a great park with good trails and nice views.

Have spent the last 2 weekends here camping and intending to spend more intermittently over the year I can say that this is an absolutely gorgeous state park with lots of trails to choose from! Theres something for everyone-whether its an easy hike along a gravel road, interurban trail to more moderate-difficult trails or mountain biking. Access to the beach, which is perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding, wildlife watching, etc. You have a lovely view of the San Juans. The campsite has a lot of noise, with the train going through 4-10 times or so in a 24 hour period and being right next to the road. The sound carries VERY well in this site-otherwise a 5 star place to go solo or take the family!

When our boys were little we used to drive up from Arlington to enjoy the sand, sun and tide pools. There is another nearby beach that is the only public accessible sandy beach this side of Jetty Island in Everett or Sequim or Vancouver Island. Access to the ocean, hiking trails, rock jumping, grocery stores, unique museums and a quick jaunt to the Whatcom falls has your entertainment covered.Theres no cell service (TMobile) so youre forced to just hang with your fam/friends and remember why you like them. Free blackberries for the picking in season.Very respectful mask usage. Super chill.

I have not camped here, I have only spent an hour here so far, but cannot wait to go back. I parked in the lot by the amphitheatre and covered picnic area, then took the trail down to the beach area. I was stunned by the beauty I saw! The blue water, the beautiful rock formations, the changing leaves on the trees (I came here in October). I felt like I was standing in a postcard! I only saw three other people the hour I was here. It made me want to explore the other areas of this park, one hour wasnt even enough time for the small area I saw. Very clean, very relaxing, stunning beauty.
