This path is absolutely stunning. While there were quite a few people on the trail, there were plenty on places to sit, have your own space, and take in the beauty of the nature on full display. It’s a simple trail that was full of people of all ages. Worth trying to find a parking spot for!

This is one of the most popular trails, situated along one of the parks main loops, so naturally there are going to be a lot of people there. Its a pretty easy trail with plenty of overlooks and scenic views. It seems reasonably handicap-accessible, though some of the overlooks and scenic view (Thunder Hole included) do not have full handicap access. Still, the lack of stairs and well-maintained path make this a path that is accessible to all, which is certainly good to see.

Nice, easy path that’s readily accessible. About 30% of the Trail is immediately adjacent to the Park Loop Road which is both convenient and a little annoying. Stunning views though make up for this. One tip: park at Sand Beach and then take the free bus #3 two stops down to Otter Cliff. Then walk back up to Sand Beach where you can cool off by dipping your toes (or more) in the cold Atlantic water. Delightful.

Walked beginning to end and back. Would do this many more times. Plenty of opportunities to trot off to get a different view of the day and cliffs. Good for all fitness levels I would recommend comfortable shoes with support if you plan on walking it completely.

Parked here as a central location to explore different trails in Acadia NP such as Thunder Hole, Beehive, and Ocean Path. The beach was very beautiful and water freezing even in late July. The views along Ocean Path trail trail were amazing.

Very beautiful trail that goes up and down along the coast. You could walk the loop as well which takes about an hour. Try to avoid busy hours or it could be hard to find parking. Parking is free here. Restroom is very clean.

Second visit to Acadia. Always worth the visit. Fog rolled in along the coastline temporarily and added to the beauty. At Sand beach watched a seal playing in the waves. Take this trail down to Otter point, the walk is worth it.

This is a great trail that weaves in and around the coast. Theres plenty of opportunities to park along the trail. There are parking lots and a few sections where you can park along the road. if youre unsure whether you can park on the road, just keep driving down until you see a lot. Youll walk more but its worth not getting a ticket. We saw park rangers in full ticketing force and we werent even there during the peak season.

As you walk along this trail/path by Sand Beach, there are many areas you can take another path/steps to get closer to the ocean or you can keep going to the end, which will take you to Thunder Hole, Otter Point and beyond.

A flat, smooth out-and-back coastal trail that runs from Sand Beach to Otter Cliffs passing Thunder hole along the way. Gradual elevation changes make this a very easy walk with wonderful views of the rocky coastline and the mountains inland.

Get up a little early to get to the beach/trailhead parking and beat the crowds. We went down to the beach first and got some beautiful pictures. Afterwards, we walked the Ocean Path to Otter Point (probably a couple of miles) and stopped many times along the way to walk out to the ocean on the cliffs. Youll see Thunder Hole along the way so you wont have to park there and fight the traffic. Since its a one way road, this is a good thing. Take a snack and some water and be sure to wear your tennis shoes. We were there on a clear day and it was beautiful! Totally worth the walk.
