Absolutely fabulous tour! We saw eagles, seals, porpoises and a beautiful lighthouse. Staff is fantastic. Incredibly informative, helpful, fun and friendly. Very Covid safe. Plenty of room to distance and masks required indoors. There are bathrooms and a snack bar on board and a heated indoor section if it’s too cold on top. Highly recommend!

DONT MISS OUT ON THIS GREAT TOUR!!! We had the best time on this tour. It was really cold but we had hot chocolate and coffee and the best narrator anybody could ask for. Bill was really funny and he had so much information about everything. He pointed out all the wild life to everybody and had the best stories. He maneuvered thru out the ship the whole time and you could just see how much he loved his job. I so could see the teacher in him. Im sure he was a great one and now the Acadian has Bill to teach us about this great nature tour. We truly enjoyed ourselves and hope to do another tour with him present. We were lucky to catch this tour ,since it was their last week.

Wonderful way to spend the afternoon with the family (kids especially). The crew is super friendly and will help as much as you need with everything, from taking fish off the line to cleaning and bagging up fillets from your catches to bring home. It gets chilly on the water even in summer so bring a jacket.

Loved it. Great views and friendly, knowledgeable guid, who told us z lot about the area and gave a few tips about places we would otherwise missed. The tours description doesnt mention it for some reason, but during the trip its possible to encounter porpoises, seals, and other wildlife. We didnt see porpoises, but sat lots of seals and a few bald eagles - you can see one on the photo, on the roof of the generator house. Being binoculars, if you have them; if you dont, you can rent them on the boat.

We chose to take the sunset cruise with naturalist Gabby. The route that the boat took was beautiful even with the fog. It was also kind of the company to give a warning before boarding the boat that the fog may negatively impact our trip and they immediately offered a refund or a chance to reschedule. It was our last night there so we decided to go for it and even with the fog, we are SO glad that we did. We saw a ton of adorable seals and different kinds of birds, along with historical coastal mansions. The naturalist, Gabby, was so sweet and enthusiastic about her job and her information was even better because you could tell she loves what she does. She was able to answer any and all questions that were asked too. 6/5 stars if I could!

I hope everyone gets to read this. I cannot speak much about the boat ride because we never ended up boarding it. They sent us a ticket with all sorts of instructions except the boarding time and the place of boarding. The way it was organized was very unprofessional and it seems like the people working there don’t talk to each other. The ticket (email sent to us) asked us to be at 119 Eden at 5:15 PM. We got there just in time and we even informed them that we would be getting there exactly at that location at 5:15. When we got there (it was a parking lot), no one was there and when we went to the help desk, he had no idea If the boat had left or not and he couldn’t even coordinate with his crew about it. He simply pointed to a bunch of motels and asked us to head towards the harbor. The signs to get to the harbor are not even visible and after 10 minutes of struggling to locate it, there was a small sign at one of the docking stations “boarding will be 10/15 minutes before departure time”. Everyone reading this should keep this in mind that the time mentioned is the departure time and not the boarding time. I don’t understand how a company runs like this without basic instructions of meet up location or boarding location or the times for either. The first person at the harbor was very rude and wouldn’t even turn to respond to our questions but the second guy we called out to was polite. Later when we called the lady on the office line, she simply said “we’ve turned away dozens of customers in the past for the same reason and it’s common sense to get there 20 minutes prior”. She gave us an example of taking a flight and I argued how that example works against her because they clearly mention timings for everything. The company should simply add a line to help themselves and the customers rather than turn away dozens of customers as she stated and then say I cannot refund nor reschedule and will simply eat your 70$ with no shame or regret.

Wonderful tour! Sean, Eli, and Ester were an awesome crew! Smaller number of passengers due to COVID-19 so make sure you book ahead of time. Lots of fun and everyone caught multiple fish. Great for everyone, kids and families included! Saw tons of wildlife: different fish, eagles, porpoises, seals, looms, and more. I would recommend the 4:30pm trip as you can see the sunset as well. Worth every penny!

This was my sixth year visiting bar harbor mostly to bike the trails of Acadia. Never did I think a boat tour of the harbor would reveal so much beauty that I was missing by land. Hundreds of Bar harbor seals in their natural habitat. 80 ft island cliffs and caves. Mansions majestically perched on the rocky coast. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable a retired biology teacher and he talked nonstop for two hours god bless him. Lol

We had a lovely sunset cruise with Acadian Boat Tours. We went during COVID, which just meant that the amount of people on the boat was limited. No one was wearing masks during the cruise, people werent encouraged to space out, and I didnt see hand sanitizer available- all of which could be improved upon. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and he made sure to have a peaceful quiet time during the actual sunset. We are very happy we did this sunset cruise and will do so again if we go back to Bar Harbor.

Terrible boat and terrible tour. They let the tour go out in extreme fog, 50 degree raining weather and with not enough seats to sit everyone safely inside their subpar cabin with a dilapidated snack shack and cold bare metal seats. Their speakers had also blown out on top before the tour, which they acknowledged, but didn’t take the time to cancel their tour and replace their system. I spent the majority of the time wishing the boat would sink so the “tour” would end early.

Like some of the other reviewers, ours was a COLD day, and as we were told, its colder out on the water. Couple that with rain, and you had the makings of a terrible trip. Instead, the crew made it one of the more exciting things we did during our visit. Yep, we got wet, from both rain and spray. Did I mention it was choppy? We got cold.
