X MARKS THE SPOT!!! Love the round swing if I had one I would put it in my house and be on it 24/7. I am 34 ... lol but its great for a mother with a babies and older children, mom and baby can sit in the swing and the other children can play. Also great way to get the teens where they can have there space but know whats up, they have 2 playscapes, separate seating area (great for teens) water park basketball court, baseball diamond, as well as tennis courts. Also the hood peeps be coo too mind there own if you mind yours and you aint trying to start no trouble.

Its a good park every one kind of park ,because the kids matter to us and we love the racial group that includes all races welcome to play with our kids at wayside park

Its a small park. Fun with the kid in there wet zoom for summer had fun but to many homeless around.

Nice park wish shaded picnic tables, but it was hard to find trash cans, so be prepared for that

This park is very good for families and children but a lot of strangers are there. Peoples drinks alcohol openly. Peoples doesnt care through leftovers food, etc

I went two days ago, its looks clean, but I dont think is safe. But I enjoyed feeding the ducks.

That park is not the same as it used to be the city need to clean up and get rid of the drug addict

Good place to take kids during the day, but at night it gets a bit dark and suspicious.

Very nice. An on a hot day they have the little water park as well. So you would be able to cool off.

Need bathroom s and the old pool house needs to rebuild or replace with bathroom, baseball field is nice.

I took my granddaughter there and she loved it. It could use more benches and trash cans. I did find a cap to a syringe in the sand by the slides and it makes me wonder where the rest of it was. Hopefully a kid doesnt find it.

Seemed pretty calm....Foothill Alumni goes there every year to have their softball games....enjoy going to this park.

OMG. Me an me an my man saved some poor guys life on fourth of july poor guy was overdosed on heroin with his needle next. To him if. It wasnt for he would of been dead but i feel good for saving his life may he open his eyes an change his life an realize drugs are real

Not the best of neighborhoods but the park is clean, has restrooms and a ballpark with a summertime water park. The people are generally friendly and everyone pretty much does their own thing. Forgot to mention the many bbqs and picnic benches.

Got harassed by the cops. I was just trying to get pizza with my daughter. Wont be going to that sorry park again

This park is way nicer than in previous years they have done alot of improvements. The water toys are awesome and they have upgraded all the kids toys. Its super nice for bbq now also

It is perfect for sunny days at the park your children have numerous different choices of play structure to pick from awesome place to host a birthday party.

This is actually very good Park he has a lot of things for the kids to do here has a baseball field basketball cards and its real spacious and theres like no other side of the parkway its empty so theres a lot of room to do a lot of things that here my only complaint here be I just had the rest rooms were horrible but its understandable that mean horrible it being public restroom at all but you have no toilet paper here it was a very smelly stinky year was on feces all over the place but thats understandable I cant get mad at me for that but the park over Oz the Great Park

I have friends who play softball. So once a week Im at the park watching the softball game.Nice park

Ive been going there since i was a kid now that im older i love just how i got to bible study there now. Its a great place to outdoor partys

Wayside park has always been a laid back place. Place where you can catch a Chess game pn a Saturday.

During visit you will come across bums sleeping on the ground and bum cruzing with there bikes also gang bangers from East side and cb common gang turf

Its a big park. It has a baseball diamond, play area and lots of shade.

This park is great but it is very neglected by the city,it needs to be cleaned and updated (Restroom).

A decent park. Lots of shade. Even though theres lots of trash cans around, people still throw their garbage on the ground. There are usually some homeless people around, but they keep to themselves.

Kids practice football here. This isnt our local park so we only go with purpose. Not a bad place at all.

I grew up around there. Reservations available for events all year round via Parks & Recreation Dept. Covered picnic area, BBQ-Pits, picnic tables & lots of room for kids to run, play, climb as get tired. Theres also a full-size baseball diamond for the adults to show-off.

Honestly I grew up going to this park but its one of the worst parks in Bakersfield homeless and drug addicts hang out here 24/7 i have found everything from weapons to used siringe and they have had homeless even light the dumpsters on fire

Nothing but low life ass peolpe with no sense or goals be care full i seen peolpe try to rob my house and they failed doing that im just gunna say for people that go to way side dont turst anyone at this park they only no how to seal and be a bum when they got them self in bad position to where they are homeless and thats no ones fault but theres so note be care full take care

The softball diamond is in good shape but this park is in the middle of a rough neighborhood.
