I went to Fox Theatre on Feb 16 to see Tiffany Haddish perform on her tour called She Ready. After the show I had the opportunity to meet her and take a pic with her as well as with the comedian women who opened up for her, Marlo Williams and Aida Rodriguez. It was a great night as all the comics delivered and put on a great show! A night I will never forget. The venue was perfect as it was not super packed. They were all nice people to meet.

Saw the Nutcracker preformed by the Moscow ballet, and a Charlie Brown Christmas live on stage. They were both great!! But set on the historic Fox theater made them magical!! The theater is beautiful, and reminiscent of an theater set in an old movie. Beautiful old sweeping staircase, ornamental ceiling... its just gorgeous! If you havent been inside, buying a ticket to see anything in that building is worth it!

Big old movie theater built in the heyday of the Hollywood Studio System that has been restored close to its original glory. Now with digital projector and great sound system. Venue for eclectic assortment of films and live shows. In downtown Bakersfield with lots of free night parking and close to good restaurants. Check out its website for details and schedules.

Nicely restored movie palace from the heyday of the Hollywood Studio System. Large venue with digital projection as well as sound system. Varied music acts, entertaining shows, very eclectic movies selections. Easy night parking. A block or so away from the restored Padre Hotel and a few good restaurants. Part of the slow recovery of the Bakersfield Urban core.

The Fox theater is one of the most historic landmarks in Bakersfield and definitely worth a visit if youve never been. The inside is beautiful with long flowing curtains and swirling architecture. It almost takes you back in time when visiting. And there are constantly new events and shows taking place appealing to a wide array of entertainment seekers. Please go visit if you havent yet!

Worst venue security ever. Front rows seats yet security would not keep people from standing in front of us, at the stage, completely blocking our view. We left early because we were tired of having drunk, rude & inconsiderate people blocking our view. We could not see the band at all. So so sad....drove 3 hours to be disappointed. Never again.

Beautiful theatre. I love visiting old theaters. The details are lovely. We were there for a concert. The air conditioning was poor and it was very hot. The drinks were limited to water, soda, and beer. I wanted a mixed drink.During the concert a earthquake measuring 7.2 hit. Although the place shook and equipment swung around, nothing fell. The people running getting customers in were rather unorganized but kind.Overall I enjoyed the event and the location.

Beautiful theatre. Only downfall is we were waiting in line for nearly two hours for a friends graduation so we could get good seats and a ton of people just cut in line. Entering and exiting the theater was a disaster. In the event of an emergency is would be horrible to get out of building. The rows are also very narrow walkways and you dont have much room while sitting unless youre very skinny.

While my husband and I were in town visiting family, we caught The Grapes of Wrath, original film, showing for only $5 each. The theater is a Bakersfield treasure. Seating is ample and comfortable. It was quite chilly in the theater, so bring a sweater! We enjoyed our balcony seating, which offered a great vantage point for the film. Staff was friendly and restrooms were clean. Thank you to all who donated in saving from the fox tower! Downtown wouldnt be the same without the fox theater. And because of everyone who donated the legend lives on. Any seat in this house is AMAZING and if you have the chance to witness an event in this venue: jump at it! Admittedly, having a front row center seat to your favorite concert, theatrical production, etc. is exciting, but if you find yourself in what you thought would be the nosebleed section, youll be pleasantly surprised. Yes, even in the Bob Uecker section, (take it from a seasoned Uecker-section ticket holder) your view will be unobstructed, the sound quality is symphonic and youll have an overall better gauge of the entire event--audience reaction and the overall experience. So leave the binoculars at home (unless youre planning to count the individual whiskers on someones face) and enjoy a spectacular time within this historical piece of Bakersfield. If youre seated within the last few rows of the floor, the venue is small enough that whatever is going on at stage level still translates well to the very back row of the room. And the balcony section is split into two levels that graduates to steeper seating in the back. Again, thoughtful design in a small enough venue so that whatever is happening on stage translates to the very back of seat of the balcony. Sit back and enjoy your event no matter what seat you may end up with at Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater!

The Fox has definitely upped their game! I love all the special movie events they are having. It is always clean and the staff are friendly. My only issues here are that I wish they would offer more selections at the concession counter. It is limited. Since they are serving alcohol it would only make sense to have more food options. Also, if you use a walker or wheelchair you will have some difficulty navigating the restrooms. They have a very small restroom downstairs which there is always a line for and the larger restrooms are up the staircase.

First time at the Bakersfield Fox Theatre for the Travis Tritt concert. What an awesome venue! The line wrapped around the corner (to G Street) due to lack of security but they explained why they were wanding everyone for weapons... I guess this will be the new norm for our society but I do appreciate the Foxs efforts to keep us all safe.Looking forward to the Dwight Yoakam concert next month.
