Nice routes dont mind the grades some are sandbagged while others feel exaggerated I guess depending on your preference of climbing style. Use your gut on these to choose a route. A little run out and polished but not as bad as seismic aka maggies wall.

Gorgeous hike and creek entry point. There’s plenty of swimming spots deep and not deep on this trail. Keep in mind that the trail is partially blocked by trees. After the blockage, it gets really hairy. The trail is thin and climbing through lots of rocks and tree roots. It is not an easy walking hike for many! Bring hiking shoes. After a short 15 minute walk through the cliff side, we discovered beautiful views and place for us to hang out. Loved it!

As a first time climber i would highly recommend you get yourself a climbers guide from rei or any other climbing stores here in Austin, they are super helpful in navigating the many routes on the trail and on the walls, i would recommend this as a good starting point for climbers as well as a good place to climb for the more adept

Very beautiful hiking trail. The hikers I passed during the hike were all so polite - everyone was so welcoming and the animals were all well behaved that were on the trail. This was my first time here - The water was so soothing. Especially with her at my side. I will definitely be visiting this hiking trail again.

Wonderful little gem with decent parking. Might bring your bug spray. The mosquitoes are pretty thick in the surrounding woods & hiking trails. Unless there is rain this week, there may not be any swimming next weekend. Its flow is dependent on the rain 100%. Weekend before last had a great flow, but lots of debris. Last weekend, the flow was gone and what was left was essentially a swimming hole.

Very nice place to hike and bike. I saw a lot of bikers there while I was there for a research project for a class called Planet Earth in my school, and I had a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend visiting Gus Fruh if you need some fresh air or green for a refresher.Have a nice day!

Beautiful and peaceful. Plenty of people hiking, running, biking, and rock climbing, but certainly not even close to crowded; most areas felt more on the secluded end. Had a (non-venomous) snake cross in between my child and I on the path which was fun to observe, as well as seeing a skink.

This place is perfect for all ages. Its a nice shaded trail with access to the river. We walked a short trail and got to a really nice place for wading in the water with our 6 year old son. There were several families there having a great time. The water is not deep on the first part of the trail. If you keep going further down the windy and rocky trail, you get closer to more running water/falls and then to some big rocks where people enjoy sun bathing and the water is more still. For younger kids the first part of the trail is great. There are tons of small rocks to play with but that also means your feet hurt a ton if you dont bring good water shoes. To really enjoy the area, I definitely recommend bringing those as well as tubes for floating around. There are a few swings for adults and adventurous kids to throw themselves into the water. This place is in a residential area and there are no bathrooms close by so we didnt stay here for a long time.

For too many off-leash dogs running around on this trail where the dogs should be on leash. If youre allergic, recovering from injury or surgery, have a dog that is dog aggressive that you always have on leash, dont like stepping in dog poop, have cancer that is in your bones and therefore making them more fragile, etc, then unfortunately you will be often challenged on Barton Greenbelt trails and might not have the healing, healthy, nature experience you were looking for. Just please be forewarned if youre new to town.

So there was this girl I super had a crush on and we went see Ween at STUBBS one night and after she wanted to go for a swim and we hiked down there in the dark then when we got there we got naked and jumped in the water, thats what I told her I had a huge crush on her and I was thinking about giving her smooch but I didnt know if that was good idea. She swam around me a couple of times under water then she came up and we had us a love connection. It lasted almost a year. I will never forget how amazing she looked in the light and the water.

Bring bug spray. More of a place to swim, rather than hike even though the trail down is a lengthy one. One way in and one way out unless you reach Barton Springs and uber back to your car. Alot of people on the trails with tubes and coolers, so gotta wait abit to pass. Also lots of families with small children, and friendly doggies off leashes.Overall, its a good time however. Good music, and a good workout if you dont mind the amount of people.

Close park for trail running, biking, but more so for me for rock climbing. Top rope/sport rock climbing is what youll do here. Its closer to Austin than Reimers, but its been climbed so much, that a lot of the routes are slick and often, no longer good holds. But, its classic climbing if you can get past the greasy starts.
