Great trail for the whole family. I saw people walking their dogs, in-line skating, riding their boards, and of course bike riding. The paved path is smooth and people are really respectful. The real fun is in the bushes in the dirt paths. Theyre unsteady and have sharp turns in my opinion but are well worth it.

This park is a case study in lovely vibes/awful vibes. We had our first date here 3 years ago, pre-pandemic. It was quiet, lovely. We picnicked under a copse of cedar trees. We just went back for our 3rd anniversary. People seem to have lost their decorum. We found the same little spot in the trees, shifted over because of the nearby pile of dog poop, then settled in. It wasnt 2 minutes before we were overrun by loose dogs trying to get to our meal. The dogs are supposed to be leashed until they enter the trail. When one peed out of excitement just a few feet away, the romantic moment was gone.We retreated to the other side of the park, to between the pavilion and basketball court and worked to repair our date. This went much better. Our neighbors were two guys playing soccer, some lightsaber duelers, some people watchers, and a family that was very excited to find a still lit BBQ. Much cooler, chiller group. Date ended well, despite the rough beginnings.Anyway, the dog people here are rude, do expect to find loose dogs all over. Everyone else is great and I highly recommend chilling here.

This is a great park with nice mountain biking trails as well as a long paved path thats good for walking biking or blading. Theres some parts that are good for taking your dog off leash and other areas where you should have a leash. Theres a child playground or even a swimming pool but I havent swam in the pool yet. Many good times on a mountain bike.

A wonderful park for all. They have paved walking areas and many trails for hiking, biking and dogs. I spent a few hours walking the trails while my husband mountain biked. The trails are all mapped out on Google map too so you can literally just wander and if you get turned around just open Google maps and work your way back.

This park has been a favorite of mine for years. I personally go trail running for the ability to run a few miles. The trails are also meant for bikes, so stay aware and practice good trail etiquette with everyone. Dogs are free to run off leash, I havent had any issues with unfriendly pups, but thats not saying they arent out there. There is usually running water to splash around in as well, so it is kid friendly. Theres also a pool, kid playgrounds, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, all kinds of thing to do.Snakes have been seen in the summer months, but usually they move off the trail pretty quickly. Again, just stay aware of your surroundings and you will be good.

My favorite local park. There are so many labyrinthine trails that one can get peacefully lost for hours. Ive been coming here for six years and still feel like theres more to discover. The parking gets crowded, but generally you can find a spot near the baseball fields if the main lots are full. Theres something for everyone here: lots of picnic/grilling areas for families and gatherings, a little play park for the kiddos, lots of creek access for off-leash dogs, tons of bike trails, and so many beautiful nooks and crannies for quiet contemplation. One of the main trails goes all the way into the Domain and has access to popular residential areas, making it a great place for longer runs, too. There are also some great hill trails, if you enjoy trail running and need the challenge of some incline/elevation. Check out this park - you wont be disappointed!

The trails are fun and swoopy and very beginner friendly. I went with my 10yr old daughter and she knocked out 12 miles no problem. However, the place is crawling with people and dogs. At least 1/2 of the park, if you drew circles around a few high use areas, smells like microwaved diapers and tuna. You cant get away from the smell or dog walkers or piles of poo - its pervasive. If youre riding here and youre using a water bottle, I promise youre eating dog poo. As fun and easy as the trails are, this park is gross.

East side of town, but still okay, once you get deep in the trails there are some really pretty natural areas, & plenty of space to explore, some cool bridges with neat overlooks, & some creeks for doggies to cool off which is great. This is actually a great park and I would love to hit the trails going further in . But my biggest and only issue is that you have a lot of dogs that are not being controlled by their owners. I understand this is a leash free park, however too many people allow their 60 + pound dogs to get way ahead or behind them. My first time there a few weeks ago made me think twice of at least bringing something to protect yourself. The owner allowed a huge 100 + pound mastiff to follow at least 100 feet behind him. Others had dogs inn packs running around and you would not see the owners until up to 3 minutes later . After talking to other people who were packing up to leave they had similar stories. One guy told me he had to deal with that several times including his dog getting bit a lot. As I stated the dogs that attacked his did not have the owners nearby and they would not show up until about 3 minutes later. One ladys dog growled at me as it walked up to sniff me. She tells me it doesnt bite but it senses my fear. Same with her , the dog did not show until one minute later to the location that I was talking to her at . No one on patrol at the park at all. I believe there should be a few park staff patrolling the area especially during peak times . Allowing your dog t roam freely without a leash shouldnt mean allowing it to go anywhere it wants and out of your sight . After this second visit I will not be going back

Beautiful park, but very difficult to navigate the trails for the first time visitor. Trail markers are EXTREMELY lacking. I came across more than one split in the trail where there was no signage, and then another split in the trail that had a sign with arrows pointing toward each trail, but it didn’t have the NAME of the trails. It’s like, “duh, I see that the trail splits in two. Why do I need a trail marker to show me this?”Most of it is wooded and shaded, so thats a positive. There are a couple of places where you can cross the creek and get to the other side - the water is only a couple of inches deep on these parts.Parts of it are an off leash park, so your dogs can run free.If I had the time to wander around I would have, but I didn’t, so I ended up cutting it short because I was concerned I would get too far out and not have time to get back to the trailhead I parked at.Ill try it again when I dont have time constraints.

Walnut Creek was more of a summer destination experience years ago when the pool was still open. Now it remains a local favorite for hiking and biking, with a maze of looping trail alternatives weaving through the brush and trees. This park forms a duopoly with its neighbor Balcones District Park to the west as an approximately 2.5 hour round-trip hike from the Domain-area apartment complexes. Most people however arrive by car to the main parking lot by the softball fields and now-forlorn pool. This is a dog-friendly place so expect to see plenty of happy dog faces as you gallivant through the Texas version of a forest. Occasionally there are a few deer to be seen, and snakes by the creek.

Quite and interesting place to visit, so big with different outdoor game/fun facilities. It can fit into your personal, family or group outings or picnics. Its equally good place for your walk out, biking and training your pets like dogs etc. There are different ball game pitches for your use and swimming pool which has different depth from 1-10 ft I guess to accommodate different ages, for you to make of the facilities like swimming pool you pay little fee like $1 and $3 per child and adult respectively. This is applicable to other facilities in place you will pay little fee which I guess is for the maintenance of the facilities in question. But you dont need to pay for the public toilet though Lol! So I would say this park is good and would worth your visiting if need be. One other good thing about this place is multiple parking space available all for free.
