Longer trail (not that difficult, though lots of rocks and roots so watch out). When theres water theres plenty of spots to swim, just watch out for snakes! Great footbridge next to mopac to get to it, take the non-ADA off shoot (before the bridge, south end) for some more in the trees feel!

Reservation needed Th through Sunday, but it was empty, obviously no body knows about reservation rules. And, Dont go around this time of the year, this pictures are taken today, literally not even one drop of water, hike was fine, but it was not funny, bring lots of water, star hydrated, we started walking from top, till bottom, then take Uber to the top again, almost 2 hr trail, maybe more, only very small area had water, and it looked dirty.

Had a lot of fun out here with the pups! Barton Creek is mostly dried up this time of year so we walked the creek bed which can be a little slippery after a sprinkle so be careful. Definitely a recommended trail if you haven’t been before. It’s even better when the waters back so you’ll want to return in the spring time for both experiences

This place is a reason to live in Austin! Its different every time I go but always beautiful. Right now its particularlyfull of water and abundant. The waters pretty cold but its clean enough to swim if youre into do that. Such great hiking with sites along the way and beautiful trees everywhere. theres always parking available but it might be a little far from the trailhead. this is my favorite entrance to go just for a hike. To swim I usually go further upstream. What more can you want?

My husband and I had a great time when we actually found twins falls. The water was great, everyone was chill and having a good time. The water was clear and raging. I even saw tadpoles swimming. Its a beautiful natural place to go if you cant make it to Hamilton Pool. You can swum here but Hamilton pool wasnt allowing swimming during our time in Austin eventhough their website said they were.

If it has rained in the past week, the water level should be good. The waterfall is wide, not very tall. The trail was muddy when we went, not very accessible for those less mobile but great for pets! The water is super clear and there are great spots to take photos. There is a nice wooden bench right by the falls with a great view. Serene! Those more daring can climb out onto the rocks and get right by the edge of the fall. It feels like youre a part of it. Quite the experience.

This swimming spot is a great place to cool off in the summer and the hike isnt too hard. After a good rain, its nice to go there and sit in the many waterfalls that spring up. There is a short waterfall that you can jump off and a rope swing.

Great free spot to hike/run/walk and swim. Dogs are allowed, be aware that the rocks do get hot so it might hurt their paws. Depending on Texas weather, this place can be in a drought, or full of water. When it is full of water it’s really pretty and water is cold - the water feels amazing in Texas 90-108F weather.Parking: there’s no spot, but you park along the highway, I recommend you try to park under shade but if no shade be prepared to come back to a blazing hot car during summer.Kids: it is not ideal to take a stroller for babies, but a baby carrier/wrap would be best. It is rocky and a little bit of a trek. Make the kids who are going to walk wear tennis shoes and water shoes for the water (there are rocks). THERE ARE NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS.Coolers: Always better to pack light, but coolers are allowed, and if you have a big one, you are warned of the trek (0.5 miles) that goes slightly uphill and downhill. But that shouldn’t discourage you if you plan on drinking, eating and swimming there for a good portion of the day.Music: People do play music here with their speakers and sometimes you’ll have a few try to be louder than the others, and yes, expect certain genres that will have explicit lyrics because college kids and young adults do come here too.Dogs: If your dog is not trained, keep em on a leash. Most dogs are able to run free and get in the water, as usual pick up after your dogs.Restrooms: THERE ARE NONE. Be fully prepared plan your trips to go to nearest store. For number 1 guys are fortunate and can pee just anywhere and for girls i recommend the she wee (or pee device)Swimming: i recommend water shoes for the water, because there are rocks in water. There is a little cliff you can jump off of if you want to jump in from a couple of feet high. It does get packed during summer season, even if you get there early it will be packed.

This was my first of many more trips to this location. Once you arrive you are welcomed by a number of hiking paths. You will hike quite a bit but it is well worth your efforts in the end. Initially my group hiked to a mid point along the route and we hung out there for an hour or so. We then hiked up a ways further and relaxed where the water was significantly deeper. The whole vibe of the location was great, everyone was relaxed and having a good time. There were even plenty of 4 legged furbabies enjoying the cool waters. It was definitely wortg the drive in from Houston and I look forward to visiting many more times.

Beautiful trail, plenty of shade woods, good for a sunny hot day, the Twin Falls/creek was dry as a bone late July-early August 2018.Bittersweet, no swimming, but exposed the pretty rock formations normally concealed by the falls. Sculpture Falls about 20 minutes north had a small pool of water though, was, sweaty & happy to see! The Hill of Life Dam north of Sculpture Falls has even deeper water during dry months, though not quite as open and scenic as the falls areas.

When theres water, its GORGEOUS and refreshing here! Not stroller or wheelchair accessible. Rocky, but manageable. My boys were 1 & 4 our first time there and they both walked all the way down and back up just fine. I used an Ergo Carrier for the little one when hes been tired, or if he falls asleep. All you really need is a swimsuit a water bottle and your towel. Snacks optional! Oh, and please pick up after yourself. Lets keep the trail and creek clean and enjoyable for all ️

I really enjoy the entire green belt. I try and bike it every week depending on soil saturation. Hiking wont matter the weather, but if youre planning on biking, be sure to go on dry days. There are a lot of rocky paths that become slick when wet and traction is a real issue with tires.Gorgeous scenic paths next to the creek (I consider it a river because of flow and width of creek, to each their own) with plenty of scenic photo opportunities.I find it awesome to go here during the summer because if you get hot or overheat on the trails, you can just take a dip in the river to cool off at any point of your hike/biking sortie.Very popular attraction for not only locals but tourists as well. It can become congested during the summer and hotter part of spring so prepare for stop and go on trail riding to yield for hikers. People are usually really good about yielding for bikes so you dont lose momentum but some arent so good about it.

What I hated about today was the lack of information on the website, about how in August there is no falls, there never had been a falls in August in my 35 years here. This is not a kid friendly pass for hiking. I saw kids falling and crying. So if you are not ready to carry them and your cooler pick another place. The fall and spring is beautiful here and coolers are still a problem. The website also needs to inform families that it is about a mile downhill on a rock filled trail to get to the water. Someone may get seriously hurt if they are not prepared for this.
