Poor management, good atmosphere, lack of floor guard presence, and the rentals are horrendous even for rentals. I skated for 2 hours and have a blood blister on my foot and gash in my ankle. I worked at a skating rink as a manager and I’ve never seen such poor execution of a skating session. Again atmosphere is cool, but overall I rather skate on gravel with Walmart $10 skates on. Only reason I’m giving this 2 stars is because the wheels rolled on the rentals and the place was dead so we had the floor to ourselves.

It was my first time roller skating and it was fun. The place was big enough. The skates were well maintained. Friendly staff and very affordable prices. Loved it.

Great spot to roll. Also have good music and arcade/ concession stand. Also they dont have a walker for kids to train on.

Started goin to this place since everything else has pretty much shut down and they have been great. They’re following all the regulations implemented because of what goin on and have been kindly enforcing it to all who enter and everyone has been responding well. It’s A Safe Place To Get Out Of The House And Have Some Fun!

Austin Roller Rink turns itself into a country dance club on Saturday nights during the COVID pandemic, clearly violating health department directives limiting the size of gatherings, one of which drew more than 400 people ages 18+ to a “mask optional” event without social distancing.This came after a month when Austin worked hard to beat back a surge of COVID cases and hospitalizations.It is unknown how the rink can adequately sanitize the large, windowless space prior to re-opening for family skating the following day, but Families are advised to be wary.

Totally awesome. An entertainment throwback to the 1980s with modern musical offerings. A mere $8 gets you hours of retro enjoyment. Highly recommend!

I went on adults only BYOB night and it was an amazing option for something new to do with friends! We all had a blast, but the rink is pretty small and the floor was very uneven in places so as a new skater I was having a hard time staying out of people’s way. But would definitely go again for something cheap and fun to do!

Staff was nice but the rink floor was uneven and needs to be replaced. We are good at skating but this floor made us fall multiple times. Ruts on corners, uneven floor.One of the kids broke his wrist, another hit her head, and another dislocated his shoulder... All in one trip to the skating rink

First time here. Didn’t even know they were here. Booked my daughters 7th Birthday here. I was nervous because we’ve never been here but the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced such awesome customer service. We will definitely be coming back.

I love this rink. I bring my two grand children, 6 and 9, and they have are learning to skate there. It stays dark, and sometimes the disco-ball lights can be a little disorienting. Its great, because its not big enough for the big people to get going crazy-fast and run over the little kids or old ladies. The girls both like the safety wall in the middle, and they do a couple of laps around that to help them remember how to move those feet before they head over to the wall. The music is fun. The snack bar is good. Prices are reasonable. Win, win, win, all around.

Came here a few times but may stop going forward. The issues I have is who you enforce the rules on. For example, outside food. You allow certain people to bring outside food like your staff can order outside food and allow others, who are not part of party or adult night, bring in outside food but run over to tell someone you cant have outside food or drink. Enforce rules on everyone and not just who you want too.

Came here on a weekend and I had a blast. They played great music and the floor wasn’t too crowded! This is a nice place to hang out with family and friends.

Pretty chill spot. Not quite as nice or large as the ones I grew up going to in North Austin but a lot of personality, good music and nice staff. Had a lot of fun skating with my daughter. Apparently they have BYOB adult nights which sounds dangerously awesome.

Had a birthday party here for my daughter, was so much fun, the room was spacious, came already decorated for you, and prices were reasonable. Covers 16 guests! You also can bring your own food which is very hard to find nowadays! Get a free shirt as well for birthday guest. Only thing I will say is music is playlist, so no music requests, but otherwise such great attentive, friendly and courteous staff. Checked on us regularly, and even had a lighter on hand for the cake candles, saved our day!

This was my daughters first experience roller skating and she had a blast here. The staff was super helpful and very pleasant from the moment we walked in the door. They allowed all the time to get my daughter acclimated to the enviorment and came by to check on her when she took a spill.The rink is very smooth despite what another reviewer said and the music selection isnt bad/is very eclectic so all genres are covered.I grew up in roller rinks and this one is excellent for beginners and experienced skaters alike. My wife and I were very impressed and will be coming back often!

Flashing lights no fun

Love the rink, awesome DJ byob nights are awesome. Only down side is everytime i use their skates i get blisters from lack of padding, but overall its awesome fun.

It’s not a very well designed roller rink. It’s more like a roller rectangle. There aren’t any straightaways, just turns, which isn’t that fun after a while. The Austin Playland is a far better skating rink than this one.

First time at this rink and was not impressed.. Did not smell clean, the floor was not wood (very eneven), and terrible music. My kids wanted to leave early. LolThey also advertise Thursday as Family Nite on their website for $5 a person but we were charged $8 a person. I would be happy to add a screenshot of this error but this review does not give me the option of attaching photos.We will travel further and go to a nicer rink from now on.

The entrace area was so hot and muggy, and the area that held the skates you can use, stunk to high heaven. Then, I was pushed down by an employee who was skating on the ring, but looking at her phone. She was Not a young employee either, and when she said I didnt see you there! As I got up I told her, thats because youre paying attention to your phone and should put it away! Her response was, Whatever! I dont think she realizes that her concern should be for the safety of the customers. She better hope my elbow is just bruised, because I will be in touch with the owners of this disgusting establishment. They need to get it together!!

Ive been here several times and enjoy myself each time. However I never recommend having a birthday party. My hostess handed me my bill in the middle of singing happy birthday to my son. The party was the last one scheduled and they were kicking us out 15 minutes before our time ended so they could be out when it closed. Ill still go back, just not for a birthday celebration.

Indoor roller rink? Spent more time fastening skates then we did on floor. We did two laps and left. Floor was horrible.

Ive been to the roller rink multiple times and always have so munch fun. Most of the staff are nice and you can tell they work really hard to maintain the establishment. On the other hand the rink is very small and always extremely crowed which Im aware they cant do much about.

A hidden treat! I had never been to this part of town before. I went with a large group to skate here. Its kind of small. Adult night was nearly empty except for our group. $5 is a bargain. The music was great! Typical Spazmatics type music. The staff was very attentive. They didnt seem to have many rules. We had a good time. If I lived closer, I would go there on a regular basis.

The place is good if you just want to roller skate and thats OK because the price couldnt be better. It was a bit warm I guess because it was so hot outside and the AC couldnt keep up. They do not allow outside food or drink bui I did not check out the things they sell to eat so I dont know what they have or how the prices are. I dont care to state but my kids enjoyed it.

Went here on New Years Eve and had a blast! BYOB, video games, and 80s festivities. Nice friendly staff and big space for a big party. Will go again.

Probably the best skating rink I have been to in a while. Everybody is so helpful and the prices are not bad.

I go every Friday night. And I think its awesome. Its a chance for friends to hang out and meet new people. food is great music is great and everything., AND FYI LIKE 99.9% of parents drop them off there and leave and thats a great thing and not bad at all because sometimes we need breaks from our parents !! right ? well come join up for fun !See ya ! peace out ............ :)1

I personally will not return I believe the ground is very unsafe it is unlevel bumpy it has broken spots and very scratched up making it difficult to skate. The rink itself is very small and boring. I have gone to other skate rinks that are less expensive than and 9 times better in Austin. Go to skateland off of McCann its worth the drive and its only $6 vs 10.

1. Dirty and dingy2. No rollerblades OR skate trainersWe came in yesterday for my sons birthday. (No party scheduled, just to skate) We walked in, paid $25 for the 3 of us, and went to get our skates. On the way over, we all noticed how gross it was in there. Very dark and dingy. We asked for rollerblades for my daughter as it is difficult for her to use regular skates. NO ROLLERBLADES. Ok, she reluctantly took the regular skates because it was her brothers birthday and she didnt want to disappoint him. I asked for a skate trainer. NO SKATE TRAINERS. (Reason was that people kept knocking kids who were using them over....so....they took away something kids need because people are too careless to pay attention and skate around them. Not smart.) So, obviously we decided to leave after being inside for literally less than 5 minutes. I asked the girl (who turned out to be the manager) for a refund and she said that they dont offer refunds. ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW. I said I have been in here for less than 5 minutes and my kids are unable to use your facilities and you wont give me a redund?! She was very rude. Finally she called the owner who agreed to refund my card (still waiting to see it but thank you). I was livid. It was my sons birthday! So we decided to drive the extra 30 minutes to go to Playland Skate Center. So glad we did.I do not recommend this place. It honestly seemed like it was ran by a bunch of young kids that obviously dont care about customer service or cleanliness. Im sure it could be a nice place with a some much needed changes but we wont be back.

This business is family owned and the owners are salt-of-earth good Samaritans. I went to a BOH event at Austin Roller Rink. It was sold out so I had to park on some grass by Manchaca. Its been raining heavily this week and when the event let out around 11pm, my car was stuck in the mud! I spent maybe an hour trying to get out, asking people to help push, etc. But it was really in there. A tow company said they would pull me out but that I would have to wait until 1am and that it would cost $95. Then the owner said he had a chain and would pull me out with his truck!There were some complications. Once we got the car out of the mud, we couldnt get the hook out of tire well. So the owner produced hammers and a crowbar. He stayed with me for at least half an hour, using his phone for light while we tried to get the hook out of the car. Eventually he got a jack and the extra room let us maneuver the hook out. I was covered in mud but I was free!Anybody that would get their hands dirty in a dark mud pit at midnight to help a total stranger is a good man. This guy and his wife have invested everything they have in this small business and they deserve to make it. I may take up roller skating as a result of this experience.

May be ok for parties, but not for serious skating. The floor is too small and there are spots where its not level. I wish Austin had a high quality place located in centrally. The only options are far north or far south.

My daughter goes every weekend. I feel she is in safe hands and looked after by the staff. Good old school vibe.

This is the worst roller rink Ive ever been to! It shouldnt even be called a roller rink. The floor is made of rough concrete and its not even an oval its a circle so you can never go straight just constantly turning. The rough floor kills any momentum and it is a pain to skate . They only offerold style roller skates with no ankle support. We asked for a refund after five minutes and they said all they could give us was free passes to come back again. ha! like we would ever want to come back to this crappy excuse for a roller rink.

Staff seemed completely unaware of anything going on. Had three or four random middle schoolers being very obnoxious. Also their AC was out so it was super hot. Place seemed kind of dirty. Only have roller skates, no roller blades. The skates seemed old and dirty.

I give it three stars because based on your options in Austin; this is not that bad. Although, compared to full sized roller rinks, this place is tiny. Very crowded floor and the rented skates can vary from not bad condition to very very bad which is dangerous. They gave my friend a pair with broken laces and told him that was his only option. ANKLE BRAKER!

Just beware. Party room is not for 2 hrs but 1 1/2, because you have to start cleaning the room and have it empty 15 min before the completition of the 2 hrs. So dont tell me I will have a room for my guests for 2 hrs. Because it was not.
