Save your money and your health. I saw avengers on 6/13 here in theater 14 and remember it as one of the worst movie theater experiences I’ve ever had. The seating is outdated and way too small and this is coming from someone who is very small. On top of the cramped seating the popcorn given to us was mostly crumbs and halfway through the movie something bit my back. I wore a halter top that day so my back was exposed and I tried to ignore it but couple minutes later something bit my back again and I spent the next day at work with an inflamed back full of bites. Do not go here unless they update some things and deep clean because it’s not worth it.

Decent movie screen seating was so uncomfortable, prices are fine looks good from outside. Kind of dirty and popcorn was burnt may be m not going to order them again. It’s so near to my place so definitely visit it again otherwise will visit other cinema.

I was worried about cleanliness and sound, but great distancing and they enforce masks. The IMAX video quality and sound were great. Oh and TENET is awesome!

Had a great time with the family at Regal Cinema Gateway...Carlos the manager took great care of us, the concession stand attendees were fast and courteous, amazing atmosphere as well as clean! Definitely a place to see the movie of choice!

Showed up with reservations but went to the wrong Regal. The manager was nice enough to adjust my reservations and let me stay there and not make me drive to the other Regal.

Its a great movie theater. And it was a great movie. Infidel!

I no longer live in Austin; but when I did I always went to Gateway. There was always friendly staff, clean theatres and restrooms. Yes, the seats dont recline, but they were comfortable. I now live in a city that has a theater that has reclining seats, but it is not a Regal outlet. Bottom line for me is that I lived in Austin 20 plus years and Gateway is the best in Austin.

It was really clean and everyone did practice social distancing.

TL;DR: Unless you really really really HAVE to see a movie here, dont go here. 0 stars is not an option or Id give it.Its hard to explain just how badly this theater failed. First, the interior of the theater is extremely tired. Ripped seats and worn paint and carpet are just the large signs of this.Second, when we stop at the counter to buy popcorn, the four staff members behind the counter couldnt be bothered to pause their conversation long enough to acknowledge us, much less take an order.Third, we went to see a 3d movie. The sole person taking tickets at the front failed to give us 3d glasses.Fourth (yes, I cant believe we got to 4 either), the lights in the theater were left fully on through the opening previews. They were only turned off when we finally went out to report that we couldnt actually SEE the screen.Fifth (and yes, this is the last point worth mentioning), the theater wasnt clean. various bits of gunk were around on the floor, and it was actually sticky in places.

I signed up for the Regal Unlimited due to the great savings involved, and the fact that I see multiple movies a month. I saw 5 or 6 movies at this theater in December just about every time the actual movie-watching experience is so poor. Their projectors bulbs are incredibly dim, and I feel like Im watching a movie with sunglasses on. I saw Little Women once at Gateway and again at a non-Regal theater two days later. The difference was huge. The non-Regal theater projector was so incredibly bright and vivid. Regal Gateway needs to get their projectors right. Its too dark.

Highly recommend! Come here all the time. Accidentally bought tickets at the wrong theater and Chris pulled us aside and helped us get into our movie. Best theater in North Austin.

Went to see Zombieland 2 over the weekend. The theatre has a large lobby and concession area. They werent busy as all, we got our drinks, snacks and sat down to enjoy our movie. The volume of the movie was appropriate and not too loud, no noise bleed through from the theatre next to us. It was one of the smaller theaters so I felt a little closer to the scene even though we were in the back row, but it wasnt unpleasant. We usually go to this location as its our favorite.

Its a movie theater. Clean, comfortable. Edit - The owner was responsive to the various reviews, which I see as a good thing. Therefore, I have added another star to my review to put it above average.

There are many places in Austin to see a movie. I chose to come here because of the convenient location. It was a mistake. My daughter and I were here to see a movie. I was in the concession lines for 20 minutes, had to leave the line and walk her to her seat in the theater so she wouldnt miss the movie. I walked back out to the end of the line. It took 30 minutes to get through the line and I missed a large part of the movie. I have never been to a theater that could get a concessions line moving. My family and I will not be back.

Regal Gateway hosts advanced screenings to movies but you have to get there early to get a good seat. The staff at Gateway were friendly but the theater was not very clean. Right before the movie started, it smelled strongly of urine. Im not sure if it was a patron or if the theater hadnt been properly cleaned. I like that they provide the advanced screenings but it is not my first choice for theaters.

Took my daughter to see Adams Family. The theater was quiet, clean, and in a good location for where we were. The seating is upgraded so we were able to snuggle while eating our popcorn. I will surely be visiting this location again.

Still no recliners, friendly stuff but a loud humming noise in theater 2 on the left side in the back ruined it in more quiet scenes. Very annoying.

Sound system a little quiet and seats a liitle close. Otherwise a good experience. So worth seeing a movie there.

Smells and you ding your knees on the low drink holders. When there is another drink holder on the arm rest. Like really?? Then everyone runs into you if they have to get around you. Not enjoyable. There are much nicer theaters.

There were plenty of viewing times to catch Skywalker Returns on opening night. Good screens and sound. Great experience.

Huge red colored roach in bathroom. The bathrooms as well as the seating and overall look and comfort of my visit was very poor. Seats dirty and falling apart. Updates required before I will come back to this theater.

Nice. Been so long since I have been to the movies, they have beer, wine and mixed drinks now. Comfortable seats, good experience.

Been going here for movies over 10 years. Our last visit had the nicest guy working the ticket booth. An elderly couple couldnt navigate the website to find the movies, she stated they dont get out much to see picture shows. The guy at the ticket booth politely gave them a synopsis of all the movies playing. He also stated that they could navigate the movies easier with a smart phone app. They replied what is a smartphone. They handed him their phone and he downloaded it for them and also gave them a printed copy with the synopsis on it to help them find a movie because they couldnt see any R rated movies. Cudos to the teenager selling tickets. It was really nice of him.

I have done my best to stay away from large chain theaters like these for a long time I always prefer to go to an Alamo or Flix Brewhouse where you can order a cheeseburger and a beer. With that said my experience was not bad the theater was clean but its just not the same experience as going to a theater where they really cater to you.

The theater was not very clean, there was a sticky mess on the arm rest and floor of my seat. The movie was incredibly quiet, despite leaving the theater to inform staff that the movie was barely audible they did not adjust the volume. I really wish I would have seen the movie somewhere where I could hear the dialogue. The seats were old and uncomfortable. I could go on but there is probably no point. Ill never come back to this theater.

Great IMAX screen, but I gave it 4 stars because the seats are dated, dont recline and cant stretch legs. For the hefty price of around $16 per ticket, one would think the seats could already have been upgraded.

Older theatre. Not bad, but we went for a screening of an anime film and were put in a stadium with a damaged screen. It was distracting at times.

Bought tickets through the app and went straight to the ticket taker, who was actually the security guard as well. Very nice, but that was the only interaction with any staff as we went straight to the theater. Old style seats, not very comfortable, but we are spoiled by the theaters that have the recliners. Overall a good experience.

Theater itself is pretty cool, I like the rustic feel to it. The interior design is very Texas looking. I do however think they should change the floors carpet and definitely the seats in the theater. The seats are too close to each other and uncomfortable to get to a seat if there’s people already seated. The screen and sound quality were great. When there were quite scenes in my movie you could hear the movie in the next theater pretty clear so that kind of sucked too. Honestly I probably wouldn’t return to this location but I visited because I had free ticket vouchers and it’s close to home. If they update the seating at least then I’d reconsider. The popcorn was slightly stale but the beer was crisp and smooth

We always enjoy the movies we watch here. I appreciate their willingness to show good family oriented movies like Overcomer. My friends are excited about coming to see this powerful movies about identity, forgiveness and tenacity over barriers in life.

This place is very low quality. Rows are cramped the seats are busted the ticket prices should be lowered because the comfort is horrible. The theaters aren’t even cleaned after each movie. Would not recommend!!!

Clean and has good movie times. However, theater still has cloth seats and smells a little stuffy. A little updating would fix the issue.

We went to The Lion King 2D only. The theatre is good with many screen options. However the seats were not very comfortable. We were shifting every few mins. But if you are really into movies they have good monthly options

I really like this theater however the seating is not my favorite. long rows so U have to walk through a bunch of people just to go to the bathroom at any point or to get concessions. The theater needs some updating especially with other locations having much more comfortable seating and convenient aislesto ger in and out of. The leg room is very tight

Just visited this theater for the first time. Theater 7 stunk badly. It smells like feet, almost as if the room had flooded and mold started growing. Not sure what happened in there, but it distracted from the movie. The seats werent comfortable. This is the first movie Ive been to in theaters in years and I was quickly reminded why I stay home to watch movies. Wouldnt go again.

Only good thing about going to a non-eat in restaurant type movie theaters these days is that its almost a private showing.The price of snacks and drinks is a practical lesson in the economics of non competitive markets and price gouging. Its really obscene way they charge.

Had a great time and it was so fast and easy to get the tickets! The concessions stands were great. There was a big selection of candy and food in general and the staff were very helpful and cheerful with us. The popcorn was hot and fresh and a big selection of candy. They also had alcoholic beverages if you wanted. Parking was easy and there were lots of places to park. Several handicap spots available! Plenty of lighting all around the theater and parking area.

Been coming to this location for years and the visits are always phenomenal. Nothing better then enjoying a great movie with buttered popcorn and out of the sweltering heat in some Air Conditioning. Oh yeah ️

Screen and sound quality were good. Sightlines are ok. Common areas seem to be well maintained. Seats were comfortable but need to be replaced. Many of the seats in screen 7 were torn and stained.

Went to one night event. 20 minutes of the movie had already played when they started it. Seats and carpet were a bit musty smelling, seats were old, not well designed, sound was not too good either. Got a refund with no problem

This was the worst movie experience weve had in a while. The two stars I did give it was for the nice employees and the cleanliness. They really need to update the seats and sound. The seats were ripped and old and we couldnt hear most of the movie because of the out dated speakers.

The seating wasnt optimal as someones head directly in front of me was partially blocking my view. Still my favorite theatre though.

Theater 12 smells horrible. Its a moldy and mildew smell, very overpowering. It hits you immediately when walk towards the left side of the room. If you have allergies you will suffer. I couldnt focus on the movie. A solid carpet cleaning with antibacterial detergent will do for a while. Good Grief!

Its a nice ol school movie complex nothing fancy nice getaway from todays technology rules every thing

This movie theater is nice. They need the reclining seats.

Easy and abundant parking, clean and well maintained building and friendly staff. The theaters see quite outdated with the older movie theater seats that do not recline but at least the seats were in good working order. Pricing is the same as many of the theaters with reclining seats so if I had a choice, I would pick another theater. If this theater has the best showtimes, I would go back.

Aside from great concession selection and an IMAX screen...4DX!!

Haven’t been to an IMAX in a while, last time was in 2010 in Vegas and was blown away, not so much by this place, maybe cause I like my seats to be comfortable now that I’m older or maybe cause the screen quality wasn’t up to par, anyways save yourselves a few bucks and go to cinemark or Alamo. The movie though, AD Astra, was great go watch it :).

It was freezing in the theater, on a day when it was over 60 outside and hadnt been below freezing in several days. Many people were uncomfortable. Sound levels good.

My girlfriend and I went to watch the 10th Anniversary of Twilight last night and we had a blast! Our experience at Regal Cinemas Gateway was superb. Special shout out to Luke, our ticket taker- he was wonderful! He greeted us with a smile, was engaging and made us feel welcome. The concession workers were really funny and sweet as well. We will definitely visit this theater again! Thank you guys!

This was great 20 years ago, but its now an older movie theater and suffers from old movie theater problems.The theaters have that damp, musty, sickly sweet smell thats reminiscent of old, fermented urine.The mens room has one tall urinal and one ankle height urinal.The water fountains on one side are barely a trickle, you have to go to the other side to get hygienic water to drink or to fill up your water bottle.The contrast and brightness on some of the screens are poor compared to newer theaters. You might have to squint to see shadow detail.

Worst seating ever. Why are you trying to pack that many people Into a room you cant even fill. Seats are practically on top of each other. I wear a size 14 shoe, so I would say the seat in front on me was about 2 inches of space. This is a really out of date theater.

Gave them two stars because of the staff otherwise, it would have been one. The staff were all very kind, friendly and helpful. The Cinema itself though is tired, dirty and not very soundproof because we could the movie from the cinema room next to us. We were in Cinema 10 watching Downton Abbey - just FYI.

Most important part of the movie experience is the comfort of the seating and cleanliness of the theater. This place is old school seats with very little leg room and shared arm rests. Not very clean I saw caked in food on the seatedge next to me.

I like this theater for movies. The seating is reserved and they are reclining in some of them. Always friendly staff!

The grand size of this theater doesnt live up to a grand quality. The staff, from ticketing booth to concessions was rude. The screen isnt as large as most IMAX theaters and the audio quality was barely audible, and this was agreed with the rest of my group. Its also a shame to note that other patrons were loud, using cellphones and being disrespectful. This level of quality would acceptable at a dollar theater but unfortunately the price is the only thing here that isnt cheap.

I’d give it zeros stars if I could. Theater was hot and it smelled horrible. There were no reclining chairs at this theater. You would think that it being so close to the domain they would update it. I was literally touching shoulders with the people next to me. The restroom were disgusting. Don’t waste your money at this theater.

Its okay. There are better theater expierences around. The seating style still has that old school sloped feel to it. The rows are kind of close together, so for a taller person your knees are probably scrapping a little. As a fat guy, the seats are a little too small and close together for comfort.Visually it was decent. Colors seemed accurate mostly, but the screen seemed like it was getting old, and not quite as reflective as new. Sound wise, not as good. Left and right felt unbalanced, and the center channel sounded way too quiet. The separation was good though, very distinctly could tell where a sound was supposed to be coming from. But the left being louder than the right, and the center just being too quiet was a detractor. This was in theater 12, in case anyone reads this from the theater.Staff was pleasant, and efficient. Got thru the concession line quickly, and they were very courteous.Theater was clean overall. Bathrooms were clean and stocked.Overall, a decent theater experience, just feels like its a theater thats a bit out of date and is ready for some renovations like most other theaters in the area.

As other people have remarked, this place is in desperate need of upgrading. $10 for matinee seats is outrageous considering the sardine seating arrangement. No leg room, no recliner seating, musty carpets, beat up seats. Cmon guys, Cinemark has comfy recliner seats with able leg room and their matinee prices are well under $10. Only reason I went to this theater is that it was still caring Avengers Infinity War. Wont go back.

This was a good, regular theater (meaning: I pretty much always go to Alamo). You can reserve your seats, seats are comfy, concessions are typical in selection and price BUT they do have beer, so thats a plus. (Maybe thats common in regular theaters now, but its a first for me.) Definitely a solid back up if I cant get what I want at Alamo

Better than tinseltown. When it comes to price and service. Pretty big place with a few arcade machines to kill time while your waiting for movie to start.

Extremely courteous staff. neglected to specify which movie time I was asking for when buying tickets, didnt notice until after they had been torn at the gate - went back to the box office and the employee and manager replaced them with new ones immediately and in a friendly way.the staff member at the concession stand was also funny and engaging and made both my girlfriend and myself laugh - all in all a great movie experience and theater! definitely recommended for north Austin folks

The theater is okay. The seats aren’t nice at all, and there’s not much leg room. I saw Avengers: Endgame here simply because it was the only theater with enough seats left for my group. Definitely would not be my first choice.

Decent movie theater with a military discount offered. Menu board needs to be updated as there are items on it they no longer have.

Very nice theater. The seats are not like in newer theatres but it is fine. Closer than many other theatres so I am grateful it is there.

Caught IT Chapter 2 at 8pm. House lights stayed on (through the start of the film!) until we got up, went to the front kiosk and told the Projectionist that they were still on. Met with 0 words and the employee just turned around and walked into the office.Theater 10 has major sound issues. No bass at all and very tinny sound.Frankly, there are better theaters in ATX to have to put up with the lackadaisical service here at Gateway. No wonder every other screening in town was full up and this theater had 7 people in it.

Water fountains dribble down the side of the spout so forget free hydration. Screen and sound quality are fine but beware of open-mouth popcorn chompers.

Employees are not friendly. More like robots or just plain rude! The one concession girl had no facial expression and did not even say enjoy the movie, or have a nice day. It is annoying you must pick your seat when you pay.

Everyone was great your cleanliness was pretty good. but I have become so spoiled with recliners that setting in normal seats with someones head right in my face was less than pleasing Ive been to the theater times in the last week so obviously its not a total turn off but I really Im looking for something with recliners again...

Saw Downton Abbey yesterday in theatre 1. Unfortunately the theatre smelled so moldy and musty and generally disgusting it really spoiled the experience. Whatever it was it was so bad it clung even when we got outside! For goodness sake clean it up! Please!

Watched DB Super: Broly. Movie was awesome and the Seats where comfortable. The only complaint I have which is personal and applies to all movie theaters i have been to now days is the volume of the movies. I feel like I watch movies louder at my house then they get to in the theater. Idk, maybe its just me. Aside from that everything was all good! I would recommend.
