Comfy seats with easy call buttons for service. I enjoyed my experience but felt the kitchen and food menu badly needed an upgrade for the extra money compared with other establishments. I would choose this place more if it was more competitive with prices and the menu. Lots of restaurants outside that are exceptional anyway. Still, a very enjoyable experience. Just wanted more value. Eatery in the name, I dont feel the dinner menu is as palatable or the price. Limited beer and so/so food. Comfort and Professionalism gets it the 4 stars or it would be a solid 3.

Wont go to a movie any other way now! Its like when you upgrade from economy class to business class without breaking the bank. Food was good, except they could have offered more salsa for the chips.

We hosted an event in a theater this week and I am extremely impressed with the level of professionalism & hospitality of every single person we came in contact with. The theater was clean and well managed. I highly recommend theater rentals during this time!

My favorite theater anywhere near Austin (yes, better than Alamo)! The seats are very comfortable (fully recline) and include a table with cup holder, and the food is fantastic. Their burgers are still some of the best in Austin, and the service is always friendly.

Order tickets online early.. one of the better movie house with fully reclining chairs. If you are cold natured bring a blanket as AC is always cranked low. Get there early and have drink and apps in the bar and finish off with dinner and desert during the movie.

This is what Alamo tried to be but failed. Moviehouse has amazing food, laid back first class atmosphere. I hope they never change a thing. Our go to date night.

This is hands down the best place to watch a movie. Service is excellent. Seats are huge recliners and extra comfy. Lots of menu options for everyone. They rotate menu specials with the seasons.

Best dine in movie theater I have been to. The theaters have generous spacing between seats which makes the movie feel less crowded. Additionally the reclining seats are comfortable and well maintained; you dont feel like theyre covered in spilt food and drink. The food, while a little bit more expensive then some of the other places like this, is well portioned and pretty good. Theres also a nice lobby with plenty of seating and a full bar with very friendly bartenders. The drinks are reasonably priced, and they offer daily specials.

Not bad good for what it was. Food was easily restaurant quality prices were a little steep but thats kind of to be expected. Definitely book early if youre going for a new movie in the first couple of weeks this place is always slammed. Upswing they had a local artist who does fan art there for the opening of Star Wars so cant complain. Even the artist prices were really good

The chairs, oh God the chairs. Ill pay the premium and show up with a full stomach just to enjoy the chairs. Trying to cuddle with a date? These chairs were designed with that in mind. No longer do you have to maneuver a hard plastic separation device, they put a padded armrest on each chair so theres a lovely island of cushion between you and the other person. Also works out great if youre friendly and want to get a little more comfy with your movie-neighbor. Food is actually a large portion for the price on most entrees. As expected the appetizers are amazing, but not up to the sane cost / amount ratio as the meals. The bowls may even be too much if you dont show up starving. Highly recommend the burgers and Southwest bowl.

This is one of my favorite Movie theaters! Been going here since 2014. Cant get enough of their comfortable recliners and delicious food! The prices arent very high but Id say a bit higher than most. Service is always great and its usually always nice and clean!

My fiancé and I love seeing movies here. The reclining seats with tables and cup holders are awesome. We have always had good, friendly service when ordering food and drinks. The food is consistently good although the mixed drinks from the bar are hit-or-miss. Ive had a few mixed drinks that were great and a few that tasted very watered down. Ordering tickets online is super easy and convenient.

This is my happy place. I wish there was one closer but it’s probably better there isn’t because I would spend all my money there sitting in those amazing chairs, watching movie after movie, eating all their delicious food, and drinking a few cocktails. I LOVE the customer service and the... just everything you guys! So much better than Alamo DH!! Go! You will love it!

I have been to the movie house several times, and typically have fairly good experiences there, but this afternoon was different. Our waiter was incredibly rude and snarky and cut my friend off when she was trying to order her food. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with tater tots. My tots came out cold and extremely soggy and my chicken on my sandwich was burnt and way over seasoned, to the point it was inedible. In most cases, I would have alerted the waiter to these issues and maybe asked for something different, but after the awful attitude we’d already received from him, I felt very uncomfortable “bothering” him again. The money spent for a movie ticket plus the meal at The Moviehouse is not cheap, so I was very disappointed to have had such a bad experience today and hope it was just an off day and not a sign of this theater going downhill.

Comfortable. Good food. Recommend perusing menu immediately and ordering everything when server first arrives, because they get very busy very fast and it can take some time before they are able to return. There are options for those with food allergies.

This is what every movie theater should be. Spacious chairs that recline, perfectly lit, great sounding theater with amazing projectors. The food is so good, just skip going out to eat and come here. Their staff is very friendly and inviting. This place makes watching any movie a pleasurable and luxurious experience. Coming here changed my entire view of going to the movies about 5 years ago. Glad they are still in business. So much better than the Alamo Drafthouse.

Had a really good experience at Moviehouse and Eatery. Tapping a button for service is really easy and the food is tasty. I recommend finger foods like fish tenders and fries since theyre eaiser to eat while its dark. Had to leave early and while I couldnt get a refund (15 mins of the movie had passed) I was able to get two admission tickets to another movie instead.

This place was amazing! All of the food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. The only thing is, it was a bit expensive but I think its definitely worth it for what you get. I dont think Ill ever be able to go to a regular theater again!

I love this Moviehouse, cant believe Ive lived so close and this is my first time going. Food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were great (not too strong as we need to drive when leaving lol) and the seats are big man friendly! I am absolutely going back to enjoy all my future movies!

First impression - needed to refund a ticket that I wouldnt be using. Walked up to the front counter and was helped in a great way by Zach. He was incredibly helpful and helped me immediately. Great first impression. The theater itself was good - just a little issue with the bar for the stairs in my peripheral view (did not get in the way of seeing the movie screen). Reclining chairs and a nice, sturdy shelf for the dinner. The table service was excellent. The food was actually a good value for what I thought I was going to get. Very attentive service when I needed it. I will be going back.

The place is really nice and clean. The chairs are comfortable recliners and the menu has several options.I had the steak quesadilla which was delicious.Also had a margarita that came in a big glass and a cup of coffee.The even have creme brûlée in the dessert menu Service is excellent and everyone seems really courteous. Also the seat has a button to call the waiter/waitress.The bathroom is beautiful and clean.The best part is that the movie ticket only cost $12.00 plus tax.I definitely recommend this place as it feels classy and it’s not at all costly.

This was my 1st time here.. I was encouraged and egged on about trying a different and BETTER movie experience than Ive ever had, so there I was enjoying the bar (which was great and so was the service), seating (wasnt the best but good) and the food came along (not that bad) I tried the Mediterranean pita and I liked it, had a couple more drinks while I snacked on my meal and fries.. when all of a sudden I see the waitress attend to the couple next to us and she walks by my table and WITHOUT ASKING she picks up my basket of food and takes it away!!!. Thats it. Ill leave it at that....

I love it because the environment is better than Alamo but its nowhere near as good for vegan diets. Also their no talking policy is definitely not iron clad. Weve reported people on several occasions and they generally dont do anything about it. Also youd think theyd decide to do the order cards so youre not talking yourself when you need something.

Yes, yes and yes.The seats are excellent, the food is excellent, and the entire experience is excellent. Ive been a fan of the movie and dinner experience ever since I discovered the Alamo Drafthouse. This place takes that idea and somehow makes it better. Using a button for service is just the best thing ever. Can we have this in sit down restaurants? Also, the seats are arranged in a way where you are not disturbed unless you want to be.The recliners make it feel like youre at home. Bring a blanket and you might just forget where you are.Its a bit further than my usual Alamo but its definitely worth it for a once in a while splurge. Be ready to spend a cool $100 bill on the food, drinks, and tickets but I definitely feel it is worth it.I will definitely be back next time I want to really kick back and enjoy a movie in the best way possible.

We really like going to movies, getting to relax, and eat. We have been going for awhile. We get same type of food because everytime we try something new it is not that great. I wish they varied the menu more. Also their sweet potato fries used to be best i have ever had and about 2 years ago they changed them. Bad change.

The food is amazing and the seating is too. They have the most comfortable recliners with fast service. Try the pizza and a milk shake! What a top knotch fancy place.

Awesome. Very friendly staff. You can hold your toddler in your lap as a seat which we do. Pizza is yummy and fun free optional photo booth at end. Will come back.

Somehow my daughters lemonade took longer to get than the Mexican Martinis...twice-1 star for $11 Mexican Martinis! In a high ball glass (4oz) without a shaker. Go to any bar, pub, restaurant and you can have better Mexican Martinis for less than $10 AND you will get a shaker that serves you 2-3 drinks. Tequila wasnt top shelfGo to relax and watch a movie. Spend your dime on better food that gets you more somewhere else.

Just watched a movie here on my trip and my experience here was amazing. It was clean and well taken care of. The seats reclined and were not dirty when I came. Food was delicious and they also offered alcohol which was pretty cool. Waiter was nice and took good care of us. I will definitely will be back to this movie theater. 5 star for sure.

I always arrive 30 min prior so i can order food/drink and have plenty time to enjoy it before the show. Tonight I sat and watched everyone to the right and left of me get served. Finally someone took my order, right as the previews started. Annoyed**update, never brought the water I ordered.

The best food and most comfortable chairs.

I had to get out of the house. I am pregnant and one week past my due date. I did some homework on recliners at movie theaters in Austin, and found this place. I normally go to Alamo in Mueller because I live closest to that theater. I saw Aladdin there recently, and being super pregnant, I was still uncomfortable in their recliner seats. Well, yesterday was the opening of Lion King, and after doing my homework, my wife and I drove 30 minutes to the Movie House Eatery theater. I was NOT disappointed. I was so comfortable the whole movie. I was almost reclined perfectly horizontal, and I brought a pillow for support and was able to lay on my side when needed. A little TMI, but if you have been pregnant, you know.... Laying this was helps relieve pressure off of your bladder. Basically, I made it through the whole movie without having to go to the bathroom at all. Our service was great as well! The food was also delicious. The theater was far from us personally, but if I lived in the area, this would be a theater I would go to regularly. Thank you Movie House for making these long last few days of pregnancy a little more enjoyable. :)

Perhaps this is slightly bias, but I have not had a bad experience at the Moviehouse & Eatery. There might have been some slow responses resulting from a push of the button on the chair, yet at times with lots of people, it is understandable.Most unfortunately, I have caught someone on their phone in the open theater when they should have been working, but this was only once and a few years back.I appreciate the waitstaff ALWAYS welcoming you back before taking your order and asking if you have visited them once before. It saves time so if you are NEW they can quickly explain and go into detail (if you prefer) and have you ordering like a BOSS in no time. Plus, the attentive waitstaff check back with you even if you have not rang your chair in a while before issuing the final bill.One experience I had was I choose the wrong time to see a movie. With a quick phone call explaining my situation, they told me no problem and plugged in two seats for the time intended. All I had to do was go to the ticket counter, give my name so an exchanged could be made. (hits easy button)Another experience has been a company outing which the Moviehouse Eatery served all popular appetizer foods ( some I had never tried ) and I was as happy as a bird with a french fry sampling it all before the movie began.I always look forward in going back. I have tried most of what they offer from vegan to meat/fish and it has always been delicious as my favorite is lollipop chicken.Thank you for reading my review and see you at the movies!

Very nice theater. Seats are comfortable. Convenient to have a waiter bring whatever you want to eat. Better than standing in a line at a snack bar. All in all it was a good experience.

Super comfortable seats, courteous and efficient staff. Check which days they have cheap matinee tickets, its a real bargain! And so is the bottomless pit popcorn refillable as many times as you like. It was a fun experience!

The recliners are nice and big, popcorn is made with coconut oil, and the other food items are not bad. The screens and sound are good but can use an upgrade.

Nice theater and the pecan beer is awesome. I am a little disappointed in the picture quality for this level of a theater. The dark scenes are hard to see what is going on.

Hands down the best way to go enjoy a movie. The service is impeccable. All seats are assigned. Each theater have recliner leather seats that includes a call button for your server to come to you. Each seat has a tray attached to it with a menu in place. From the adult beverages, the appetizers, and menu almost everything taste good. My favorite is the brunch menu that includes homemade French toast. Everything is ordered from the comfort of your seat. I only had one bad experience out of the many visits to this theater and it was due to excessive delay of a food order. I definitely recommend this theater and truly wish it was a nationwide chain.

They have leather automatic recliners! They are super duper comfortable, too. The food was good and the service was pretty good. Our server never brought us a refill on our popcorn but its understandable I guess. Besides the theater is so nice that we forgive them! Our pizza came with bacon on it even though we asked them to hold it on the side. These are some flaws but the experience was still great since management offered us a complimentary movie to make up for their mistakes.The restrooms were very clean. The pricing on the food was pretty good except the drinks were a bit pricey. The theater itself is super clean and the quality of the seating, food, and screen/sound quality was really nice.We cant wait to come back!! We are already making plans for our next movie!

This is always awesome. Tonight stunk. Service was really slow. Our drinks especially mine suppose to have be ed n ice tea. A few Cubes of ice, had to ask for glass of ice. That took over 10 minutes. Each time we asked for refill on drinks or popcorn ( no butter) it took 15 to 20 minutes for that. Again no ice in cold drinks.Went to ticket area, asked if they were short handed. Lady said well kinda of no. She called mgr. He came , young man bald headed,beard. Explained that service was the worsed that it ever been . He wasnt really listening to what I had to say. Had to repeat several times.. his attitude stunk. He offered me coupon for free popcorn for next time. I declined, why. BECAUSE HE DIDNT CARE. NOT SURE I WILL GO BACK because of his attitude and not listening. My daughter before leaving got sick to her stomach, due to butter being on popcorn. We ordered it with no butter second batch, 3 one had butter.Oh. Mgr. Asked if we called during movie about issues with wait time on drinks, popcorn. Ugh NO. I was watching movie. We have been going there since it opened. May not go back.

Superb! Environment, food and service were excellent. I always purchased my ticketd online so I can select my seats and know the theater configuration. No random guessing and draw of the luck. The added advantage is I can avoid overcrowded popular times by seeing the seats purchased. Ive not had any bad food in all the times Ive been. Service is the only unpredictable variable, though Ive not encountered anyone thats been terrible. Generally, the service is good to excellent.

Very kind staff. We went for a premiere screening, and the staff were great about handling our very large group. The food was good, and they have cool comfortable seats with a swiveling food tray so you can pull your food close to you while eating and then get the tray out of the way when youre done. Theres also plenty of parking which I always appreciate about a movie theater. The whole place has cozy and classy decor, including a nice bar in the front lobby. Overall, a great experience.

We went to a Friday, mid-afternoon showing of 1917. We arrived early enough to order and get our drinks & popcorn before the movie started but...PROBLEM. As we watched the young guys who were taking orders and bringing out food & drinks, we started noticing that they were waiting on everyone but us...PROBLEM. They waited on everyone in our section of the theater except us and people who arrived long after we did. We sat and waited just awhile longer (without service) until my wife went out to find a manager.The conversation with the manager was quick and to the point. This was not the first time this had happened to us here but the first where we spoke to a manager. The manager was told that possibly we had a problem with discrimination against two women who were a couple.The point: All of the movie goers were male/female couples, dressed in their designer jackets, clothes & shoes. Some of them knew each other but did not arrive together. Some even brought their satin pillows to put behind their backs in the recliners. We were a female/female couple dressed in our designer blue jeans, long sleeve t-shirts & LLBean fleece jackets.The conclusion: the movie house may have themselves a little problem about discriminating against those in the LGBTQ community. The manager was nice and sent an employee assigned to work in another auditorium to take our order. The manager checked in with us later to make sure we had what we needed. Our order was paid for by the movie house also.Not sure one complaint and some paid for drinks & popcorn will solve this problem however. It certainly wont make the memory of how we were treated go away anytime soon.

This was my first visit to a Moviehouse & Eatery. I was very pleasantly surprised. I expected comfortable seats and good movie and sound quality. But, wasnt expecting too much regarding the food. However, the food was excellent! I was with a party of four and everyone had exceptionally good and tasty food.

Fun place for a date night. Comfortable recliners, good service and drinks. Did not give five stars because of prices. But the do have bottomless icees and that goes a long way for me!

After frequenting The Moviehouse since it opened on Hwy 620, this was the worst experience ever. Food was poor quality (queso runny and tasteless, pizza dough not as good and toppings reduced in quality), the menu was more limited than ever, and, service wasnt as great as in the past. Wont be returning and will opt for Alamo Drafthouse instead (whose food was declined after going national yet still better than this).

I truly think this is the best theater in Austin because of the exceptional service they provide to customers. What makes this theater so unique is the variety of food and drinks you can provide for a fair price. Its pretty much a quality restaurant in a movie theater where you order and eat from your reclined seat. Also, this place is very family friendly welcomes all types of customers.

An amazing movie theater. After visiting Moviehouse & Eatery I wouldnt want to watch a movie anywhere else. The menu selection is great with things like unlimited popcorn and unlimited refills on soda and ICEEs! The seats are always clean and comfortable and the staff have always been friendly. Ive learned your experience here literally depends on your waiting staff. Some are very nice and polite and willing to go the extra mile and the others are just there to get a pay check. And Ive also noticed, they only ask for your tickets depending on your nationality.
