I did the Area 51-2 room today, and I absolutely loved it. The designer was very nice and the room was very detailed and interesting. Very engaging and a great way to spend time with friends!

I signed my daughters (ages 14 and 10) and they invited their cousins (15 and 13) for their virtual escape room (Goblet of Treasures). While we were in San Antonio, their cousins in Kerrville and the guide in Austin, you couldnt tell and everyone had a blast! Big kudos to our Wizard who made this an experience my family will cherish for a long time. Would highly recommend as a way to get friends together.

So much fun. Puzzles were the correct hardness and everything worked out so well. I’ve done a few other escape rooms, this was the best. Watch out for Crazy Mike!!

It was really scary and anxiety inducing. Thats the name of the game, though.We were in a group yesterday or the day before with a trio of kids who were former DC interns getting together in Austin. There was one girl who was extremely impressive with the puzzles. She said I was admirable, but like, ethically. It had nothing to do with the puzzles. Generally good vibes. Hope shes doing well, wherever she is.

Hands down the best place for a live escape room experience, since they have actors acting the prolog! Their bookings are not private, but they accept walk-ins a few minutes prior the beginning of the game and pretty much we never had anybody other than us in a room like that!Their themes are awesome and you can complete most rooms as a couple. They have limited hints, so make sure to ask them at the right time. My husband and I loved Cursed Ship. Great experience!

Recently held a birthday party in the Enchanted Chamber for nine 11 year old boys, they had a blast! The event room was nice so our party was all in 1 place. We ordered pizza and had cupcakes, perfect size. While they didnt escape, they had fun working as a team. The staff was nice and friendly even with these rambunctious boys. We would definitely recommend as a unique and different experience for a birthday party. Thanks Lockout!

This place exceeded my expectations! The staff was amazing. My husband and I had never been to an escape room but Lockout Austin definitely gave us the thrill we were seeking!

Lots of fun and challenging puzzles. I think one of the puzzles was too hard but overall very creative. Staff was super nice and Wheres Waldo kept us quit busy while waiting ;)...nice touch.

This was my first escape room and I was impressed. The staff is awesome and the themes are really interesting. Nothing was cheesy and the puzzles are thought out well. Went for my dads birthday (hes 72) and he loved it. I recommend going in a group and checking this place out. We will be back to try out rooms. We did blue meth. Its really a fun one.

We went to this place as a team fun activity from our company. I think this is the fourth one in Austin that we visited. We were up for solving the CSI - the murder mystery at the asylum. Very challenging and fun. We solved the case in the last minute and it was the first one we ever cracked in escape rooms. Had a very good time and definitely recommend this place.

Lockout Austin was so much fun!! It was a great team building event with my coworkers. We did the CSI Murder at the Asylum and it was one tough room. Well done in setting it up. I will definitely be back with some smart friends to escape again. Thank you Lockout Austin- great challenging rooms and nice staff! The only thing that was tough was the window in the room had writing on it from the previous group which confused us just a little. The room takes a lot of working setting up so I can see why it of all things could get missed.

Took my 11year old and five of his friends plus myself and my 18yo for a birthday experience. The Enchanted Chamber was challenging, immersive, and FUN! The kids were SUPER THRILLED with the whole experience! This was my first escape room but my older son has done several. We were all very impressed and entertained (and yes we solved the room with a whopping 3.5 minutes to spare).HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Facility was clean and well organized. Room was 100% family & kid friendly (for our age group anyway). Staff was very helpful and engaged. 11/10 would do it again. Absolutely made my sons birthday memorable. Thank You Lockout Austin!

Only one or two people in our group had been there before, so the rest of us only knew what the employees told us. They have several different theme rooms to choose from, each with its own story behind it. We chose the haunted ship wreck, and needed maybe another ten minutes and we wouldve gotten out. If you like puzzles, riddles, and a good mystery to try and solve, I highly recommend checking this place out. I actually took a lady there for a first date, and she loved it, so if youre running out of good ideas for a first date, you should definitely consider meeting for a couple drinks, then go check this place out.

.We didnt break any records but it was fun seeing peoples strengths and weaknesses when it came to certain puzzles. Both the host nick and the game master George killed it and made the entire thing super fun. Cant wait to come back for there newest escape room Area 51 2

This was my first time doing an escape room! The Blue Meth Breakout is absolutely fantastic!!! Had a great time with friends and was definitely exhilarating. Staff is great as well! The host Holly was very welcoming and our gamemaster Krys truly made the experience unforgettable!! I will definitely be coming back to try out more of the rooms they offer!

I’ve been to a lot of escape rooms and this was was very fun! I would go back, very friendly staff. I called multiple times ahead to ensure we wouldn’t be in the room with strangers and when we arrived they tried to put us with other people. After we expressed our frustration they made some changes and everything was fine. I recommend this place it was very fun.

I have done dozens of escape rooms and even helped build a few and I consider Lockout Austin one of the best in the city. Their puzzles are challenging, well thought out and well made. Also their staff is always friendly knowledgeable and clearly dedicated.

Escape room was elaborately planned. They had a special Morse code lock. They really made the escape room experience fun and entertaining. I hope to come back again soon. ️

59:59 - with ONE SECOND to go, we figured it out and saved the planet. Area 512 (Alien Theme) FTW! I was completely impressed with the thought and (repeatable) planning and effects that went into this room. It was also my first one. I now fear that nothing will be as cool as this was. The Area 51-2 room was awesome!

The “operator” also acted to set the scene for the room we were trying to solve. It was a lot of fun and challenging! We were very close to escaping and the operator took the time to walk us through the few clues that were left, which was very nice!Overall, very fun experience and they have “Where’s Waldo” books In the lobby!

Ive played two of their games so far (Blue Meth and Area 51-2), and have had a blast both times. Their puzzles are very unique and creative, and I love the fun touch of actors in the room. I look forward to playing the rest of their games!

Went with a group of friends. We’ve done over 10 escape rooms together and we all agreed this one was very unique and very fun. Nick made the entire experience hilarious, fun, and memorable. Will definitely be back for more rooms. This is one of the better ones in Austin.

Seems like a hole in the wall joint that makes you question its quality and legitimacy, but this place was ended up being quite wonderful. Weve done lots of escape rooms so far, and were pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable the WWIII room was. We took a random group of 8 friends and family (which I feared was too many), and Im happy to say that the room was designed well enough to accommodate and keep everyone ENGAGED. The puzzles were challenging but straightforward, and our group was able to work together effectively (again, very surprising for a group of 8). Need to come back to try Blue Meth!

We failed at the Wizard room :( But we had an awesome time. Very well done. More detailed, more atmosphere, more puzzles than other escape rooms weve been to. Staff is professional and personable. I believe these folks like to have fun as much as we do and it shows in the work they have done.

Incredible Experince! Our family of 6 completed the Enchanted Chamber recently and it was AMAZING! Everyone in our group from the 4 year old to the 85 year young Grandma participated — making it a true family bonding moment. We’re still talking it. Can’t wait to go back and try other rooms.As a added bonus, hands down the best customer service I’ve EVER had in Austin. What a great team!!

Duvey was dearly loved as the doctor for the CSI murder room. Too bad he didnt have more acting parts!!!!

It was incredible! Super detailed and fun puzzles and rooms, and the staff are amazing at helping you get into the mood while also keeping it light enough to make it easy to have fun instead of get frustrated.

Having done other escape games I definitely appreciated the extra effort my guide went through to put on an Irish pirate accent and really role play as our helper. They make it more fun here rather than competitive which is something I appreciate because, lets face it, Im usually not very good at puzzles but do like to figure them out or finish the room, so the hints are very helpful for people like me. Unlike other escape rooms, they dont penalize you for asking for help.

This place was fun. The room was absolutely a challenge. The employees are very nice. And its in a great location.Only one small problem, they could turn the air conditioning on cooler. With approximately 8 people, before too long is like being in a sauna.

After having done 3x of the Rooms at Lockout Austin (CSI, The Lost Tomb, WW3) I have been extremely impressed by the quality of all of the rooms: a high level of creativity, use of space, use of props/items, diversity of puzzles. Additionally, unlike many other Escape Rooms that Ive been to I feel that the puzzles here consistently make sense in a way that is organic to the room.The staff is friendly. The rooms are good. Each time I have come here with my wife we have come away feeling that spending the money here has been worth the price.Continue to support such quality businesses.

What a fun evening! Nick was the wizard in our Enchanted chamber and he was just amazing as he helped eight 11 year old boys semi-cooperativley work their way through the room. The puzzles were fun and he just had all the patience in the world. It would have been nice if the last lock had opened to reveal the last prize but the kids still made it. Thanks Nick!!!!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The puzzle room we tried was challenging and interesting. Everyone had fun, my only complaint was for the amount of tasks that needed to be completed for an successful escape I feel there should be more time. Would definitely be interested in trying another escape room in the future.

The puzzles were not as much trial and error as other escape rooms. You could actually reason them out.

By far the best escape room Ive been to in Austin, great actors, unique and different scenarios, and attention to detail with everything! Would highly recommend the breaking bad based scenario. Everyone was chained up and then you have to escape from there. Didnt think we were going to make it but between the unique way of getting clues and some pressured epiphanies we made it out!

10 out of 10 would get trapped again! Ive done some other escape rooms and this place is the best so far. Even just finding clues was exciting. The puzzles were intricate yet solvable. The plot and clues to key process was well though out. There was never a point where we didnt know what we needed to be doing to escape. The establishment is nice and clean and the staff is fun and engaging.

This was the first escape room for both my girlfriend and I and it was a blast. The staff at Lockout Austin were fun and helpful and made the experience great for both of us. I highly recommend Lockout Austin to anyone visiting or living here!

This was the second escape room Ive done (first at this place) and of course we picked the hardest one. We didnt finish, bit we were really close. Even though we didnt get out it was super fun. The staff was fun and our guide was really into character for the story of the room which was a fun little twist the other place didnt have. Another bonus to this place was they had a water machine! The first place didnt have anything to drink and it was nice to have after we had been running around the room for an hour. The group I go with has started doing this for birthdays and mines up next. Were going to go back here to try a different one!

Perfect for team building events! This venue worked perfect for my large department quarterly event as well as a separate small team event! And Lockout staff was so fantastic in planning and coordinating both! They worked out a very easy and comprehensive schedule for us and made it so simple! Plus so much fun! Great people and such a wonderful, fun challenge!

It was a lot of fun! We tried out the new unrated room of the asylum and got out with 5 minutes to spare. The props were cool, the staff was friendly, and the experience was overall enjoyable. I have been to the other escape room downtown on Red River, though, and have to say that one had better props/decorations/fun hidden rooms and such. I also think that their rooms were more difficult than Lockout Austin.

We went on Christmas and tackled the Blue Meth Room. We loved it, and cant wait to go back!! We had SUCH a great time!

We had so much fun doing the wizard room for my daughters birthday. Seven girls and our younger son had no problem and were going through the clues faster than I could keep up. They had a blast and were super excited by the whole thing. The staff was super friendly, the space was clean and well maintained.

Just enjoy yourself, nothing is immaterial until you prove it. Just go have some fun with your work friends or a similar dynamic group.

We did the C.I.S room and it was extremely fun! Jaime was the best host we’ve ever had and he made the experience ten times more enjoyable! They also match Groupon!!! It’s definitely the best choice in Austin!!

Was really good. Got WW3 room. We almost finished when we got to the last challenge with a minute left. Having bought into the more than convincing acting and scene setup by the staff, My FBI instincts kicked in and my brain took over, telling me to press the deactivation button to the nuclear strike by any means necessary. While we didnt have the lock off yet to get to the button yet, God put me in that room for darn good reason. I noticed a gap in the enclosment of the button and was able to fit my scrawny wrists through there, without bending anything or harming myself. As I struggled with the key, time was running out and my nerves were on edge. Yet i was determined and with much struggle I get the key to unlock and slam the button. YES! Disaster averted agent is what I thought I would hear. But than staff came in, checked to make sure there was no damage, and my conscious started to beat myself up. I am deeply sorry to the staff and appreciative of them for not completely destroying me like the nuclear device I thought I was stopping. Overall good experience

Had a great time with my family and this very awesome couple. We had a great experience and I would love to go again. I would say that its a great family experience helps with team bonding and I loved how real it felt and hope more people try it.

What a fantastic place. Myself and one other player took on the Cursed Ship and Blue Meth. The Cursed Ship was very difficult with two players and unfortunately we weren’t able to make it out. I encourage you to have at least 4 or more people to take on the Cursed Ship. I’m going to take a minute to rave about Blue Meth though... wow. First, what a unique escape experience. We have escaped many serial killers, broke out of prison a few times, and saved the world, but never have we made meth before. The scenery was awesome, the puzzles were very logical and fit right into the theme (there were no puzzles just for puzzles sake), the story line was great, and we just really had a blast in this room.

Had a blast at Lockdown Austin with a group of friends. We had 6 people, which was a great number. This is the perfect activity to do with a group of friends or for team building at work. The staff at Lockdown Austin were so kind and made us feel right at home. Parking is super convenient. Would highly recommend this for anyone - even for a date night!

This is a great place to go with friends (I recommend 5 or more in a group) to find out how to get out of the room youre in. It makes everyone think on their feet and tests your communication and analytical skills because you may find something early on that can be the key for the very last thing that needs to be opened. The employees are also very nice and are willing to help, but not directly give you answers. One example is they told us how their unique locks work because one or both of them will be in each room.

So much fun, the staff here really seem to enjoy their job and made it a blast. Cant wait for our next visit!

Super friendly staff with a good sense of humor, and the Blue Meth Breakout room was great fun.Came back next week and we were locked out when they decided to close early, despite us calling ahead of time. So that kinda ruined our night.
