Lovely view, though often very crowded and alas many folks dont wear masks outdoors despite close proximity. Climb down the rocks for an ad hoc stroll in lovely clear woods where the road noise disappears, though very near wealthy developments. Nice place to play chess on less busy days.

Great spot for seeing east Asheville and the surrounding mountains to the south and west. The MST is across the parkway and up a rock wall. Theres an entrance not far south. I took a nice walk to the next trail exit north up the parkway. There was one climb that puts this short nature stroll into moderate status. It wasnt too bad, and there was a reward waiting not far past the top. A guy with a moped just hanging out and listening to music, right beside the trail up in the woods!

Overlooks a gorgeous valley, but is almost always busy. If you want a more private area, you may want to choose another lookout!

This is a fun little trail if you just want to get away for a couple of hours and not be far from town. I would let my dog run off leash for parts of it, but be careful because it crosses the parkway in a spot or two and people aren’t always paying attention. All and all a fun hike!

Lovely overlook, just like most of the overlooks along the blue Ridge Parkway. You should stop at most of them and take in the views from different angles!

Love all of the parkway overlooks but this one has great trails and good parking..

A fabulous and easy view point just past Hwy 70 access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Morning shade.

The overlook itself is OK. Not the most picturesque, but its easy to access. For a decent hike, park at the Folk Art center and follow the white markers north on the Mountains to Sea trail. Itll be an uphill hike for a little while, but youll eventually see a red marker. Turn left and youll be at the overlook. Youll see some of East Asheville and the residential homes below. You can even see the Asheville mall from this spot.

Great hike. Really good elevation. Make it a day hike or make it a quick hike.

This was a great place to hike to from the Folk Art Center. Its about 2.4 mile out, and the same on the return trip. Its a beautiful overlook that provides a unique view of a part of Asheville youd not normally get to see. Also, it is NOT a place youd want to take small children! Too easy to fall off the overlook.

Absolutely beautiful. The entire blue ridge parkway is amazing. Anyone who loves the mountains should take a drive down this road to see all the beautiful scenery and amazing landscapes of the blue ridge mountains. It does get inclement weather during the winter time and some parts of the road are closed so keep that in mind when planning a trip to this location or any other along the parkway.

The beauty of North Carolina is unequaled. We travel often to one of our favorite States, taking in the views as we drive through the Blue Ridge Parkway. Haw Creek Valley overlook is one of those stops we always make, we take photos and admire the beauty of our surroundings. If possible, visit North Carolina and enjoy its treasures!

This is the best time to visit I.e.the fall season.The leaves are changing colour.It is a pleasure to drive.

Any overlook off Blue Ridge Parkway is worth the stop! Camera or no camera! Haw Creek Valley is yet another beautiful site. Whether youre climbing or descending in elevation, its always worth the stop!!!

What a great view and what a great place. Was there for the sunset and people just gather, hang out on lawn chairs and picnic blanket, have dinner, and chat.
