Picturesque and peaceful sanctuary. The architecture is amazing outside and inside. The story concerning the architect and the conditions of his build are quite interesting as well.

Such a beautiful Basilica. The greeters were very warm and welcoming. We were unaware of the need for reservations for Mass, but they accommodated us. Got a little history after Mass from one of the docents. Hope to make it back after Covid to enjoy it again.

The Basilica is definitely in need of repair. The stained glass windows and murals are beautiful though. Im sure there is a lot that needs to be done to fix this beautiful historic building. I really enjoyed going to mass here as well. If youre Catholic and from out of town visiting on a Sunday, make a stop for mass and enjoy the free tour afterward.

Beautiful and peaceful. In the heart of Asheville. Even if you are not religious go in if you appreciate art. Look up and you will find a wonderful cathedral ceiling and walk all to the back and you will find some amazingly beautiful carved wood doors.

Beautiful but no details on the story or origin of the art. Bathroom was locked at 3pm on a Tuesday. Office hours only 8-12. Ive been to churches in many countries and they have plaques explaining. You can only light a candle if you pay. More focused on getting money. I was expecting a bowl of Holy Water to bless myself and it was in a metal drink dispensing can. Very disappointing.

Please visit, and please donate to the restoration fund - there is water damage occuring, if I remember correctly it will be a million dollar job to repair.
