I cant say enough about how great this theater is. One family member is hearing impaired we were so happy to find out that Grail can run the movies with captions on demand!!! We will probably see all movies there from now on.The theater itself has good seats with some theaters having chairs and love seats.

The Grail Moviehouse is a gem! The atmosphere is cozy. I was in theater 1 with standard seating. The temperature was good, the picture quality and sound were good as well. The only issue I had was that during my movie, which was a French foreign film, I could hear people talking through the walls. It was a little distracting, but nothing major. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Ill definitely be back!

Great local movie house. Not a mall type theater experience. Small 75-100 seat multi screen. Some conventional seating, some comfy chairs. Local snacks too! For a small indie movie house they get all the big movies in timely fashion.

First time there, went to see the movie Honey Boy. This place is a gem, awesome staff, not too much salt on the popcorn (believe me that’s an issue) and old fashioned style movie watching. Loved the fact I could watch the movie while hugging with my husband on the sofa, it was cozy and quiet almost like a private show. You can’t beat that.

This was such a cool place. It’s a very mom and pop, small venue theatre. The tickets were very reasonable. Plus they sell beer, which was a major plus. I would definitely go back the next time I’m in Asheville. Highly recommend checking them out.

We love Grail Movie House. The theaters have couches, or comfortable seating. It’s a totally different experience than one would have at an imax etc. I feel like I can truly relax and enjoy myself at this place. The audience is almost always completely made up of adults that are quite and respectful. The concessions are completely adequate. It’s an Asheville activity that I don’t think you should miss out on.

This cozy, locally owned, movie house is usually my first choice when looking for big screen show. Though they only have a couple shows at a time, their marque frequently updates with popular contemporary and indy films.

A nice, snug place of an art-house theater (sofa seating included) that shows documentaries, Indies, new big-budget studio releases and classic films. In addition to that, local film festivals are held here (including Cat Fly Indie Film Fest) and even screening fundraisers for noble causes. Dont forget to grab a drink and popcorn at the snack bar!

We went and saw The Rise of Skywalker here, it was awesome. Tiny theater that wasnt crowded at all, and did I mention it was opening weekend for this film? A true Asheville hidden gem! We will definitely be back. They had a great snack selection, including a wide selection of local beers. Check this out if youre looking for something a little less mainstream. Plus youre supporting a local business!

I personally enjoyed the experience of going to a theater that reminds me of being a kid. Nothing fancy, but they do offer first run films as well as vintage films.Seating is simple, ticket prices are great, and concessions dont break the bank. Popcorn is yummy.Only real parking is a across the street from the building and requires payment, even on the weekend.

Grail is a great movie theater for if you want a low-key experience but you still want to see new movies. This is not your average movie theater as its much smaller than usual and only shows a handful of movies at a time, however the movie selection is always good and the theaters themselves are rarely crowded. They have a plethora of local snacks and movie theater favorites all at a pretty high premium but what movie theater has cheap snacks. Overall this is a good place to get away from the bustle of downtown and catch a movie.

Went here to see Midsommar a couple weeks ago, while I was visiting the Asheville area. It was an interesting little spot. Not your typical theater layout. The movie room has about 2 rows of theater seating in the back and about 3 rows of big living room type chairs/couches towards the front. It was still comfy though. It seems like the kind of place where you would find locally-made and indie films. I could also see it as a teen hangout spot.

Wait until you see this place!! What a wonderful alternative to visiting a traditional movie theater. There is an old school vibe inside with a few displays of movie theater memorabilia. Its cheaper than a regular theater too, and the concessions have great choices. Their popcorn is not as good as other places BUT Im impartial to treating myself to the buttery 1000 calorie buckets where the oils get all over your pants. For healthier popcorn, its actually pretty darn good! Inside the theater there are choices of chairs, loveseats, and even Lazy Boys to choose from!! The reason why they didnt get 5 stars is because the screen is kinda small, and I really got used to being spoiled by stadium seating at other places (so you can see better). Other than that, you gotta check out this place!! Go early so you can get the loveseat with your date!

Love the Grail. Weve seen a few movies here, and always had a great experience. My favorite things are the intimate theaters (which have not been crowded when weve been) and the fact that they are such strong partners with other local independent businesses. Their snacks are almost (completely?) local products, and their ad reel is chock full of promotions for local businesses. Seats are comfy, snacks are fairly priced, and the location is awesome. If youre visiting downtown and plan to work a movie into your trip, this is the place. Make it your mid-afternoon stop as you stroll and sip the local brews. Highly recommended.

Great small theater, seats are comfy, couches are available for couples who wanna cuddle up. Sound and screen are great. They always play top quality films, big budget or indie, new and classic, you wont see anything bad here. And its just good to support small local theaters like this. Only gripe is no cup holders! Itd be cool if they figured out a way to attach some cup holders to the chairs / couches. Not a deal breaker just a suggestion!
