An attraction that imbibes Disney magic. It is a little bumpy, but it still stands the test of time. The newer special effects really add that extra oomph and make it even more enjoyable.I recommend riding at night as it is extra cool and you can get some fun views of the park.

Such a great ride, especially after the most recent remodel. The yeti is actually fairly frightening now! The line moves pretty quickly and the coaster itself is divided into two cars with three seats each. That means it can accommodate as many as six people in a party! Not bad if you ask me.We rode it last night right before the fireworks and got to see some breathtaking views with fireworks over head. Definitely an amazing memory.

Very fun I wish this ride will have more details tho.

Definitely a must ride at Disneyland. I will say that it has gotten pretty bumpy, but well worth it. If youre a nostalgic Disney fan, then this ride has got to be on the list to ride !

Totally holds up to the test of time. Its a very fun right and you get some really great views of the park at night (or during the day I would imagine as well). I would definitely recommend going on this one any time of the day.

One of the more classic Disney coasters, untouched by Disney’s merchandising department. It still feels like a ride from the 60’s.

Its nice that they have updated this ride. It still thrashes you around though so if you have a sore neck I would avoid it. Its lots of fun but the line can get really long. The fast pass line also moves pretty slowly. Hopefully this will subside once the ride isnt as new (from re-opening)

Wonderful ride that has aged beautifully

Very very fun!! I love this ride! If anyone is searching for their child’s first roller coaster, the Matterhorn or Big Thunder Mountain is definitely the way to go.

Love it! Its a great ride no matter what time of day. I personally prefer riding at night because it amps up the scare factor and its cool to see the glimpses of the park all out up!

Classic ride worth waiting to go on. Its not the longest or newest ride but its fun and has some good surprises. Not too many drops, but lots of tight curves, meant to replicate a bobsled run.Get a fast pass if you can, the line for them is much shorter. Also, its fun to go at sunset or in the evening as it adds to the effect.

This is definitely one of my favourite rides at Disneyland. It is extremely so fun, scary, and exciting. Definitely worth all the wait for.

Not the best ride but above average. The new animations are very good but the track is still very bumpy and jerky. If I was a chiropractor i would set up shop at the exit haha it’s not that bad. It’s must ride but get a fast pass for this one. The normal wait can be up to 80 minutes long. It’s an iconic ride so plan it into your day and its much better at night

Second favourite ride at Disneyland, although when I turn corners my back hits really hard against the seat so that wasn’t exactly the best but other than that amaaaazzzziinnggggg!!!!!!

My first time riding, it was a good ride but needs more leg room, I’m about 6’2” and my knees were crammed into the seat in front of me, felt every bump on that ride

Probably my least favorite of the mountain rides at Disneyland but still a great attraction.I wish it wasn’t as bumpy and the seats gave you more leg room. But still, there is nothing like Matterhorn.I recommend the single rider line. Usually only 10-15 minutes as opposed to the 60-90 min regular line.

Very fun, had to go on twice. Kinda jerky, but that is what you must expect. The animatronics are great, and this ride is able to be fast passed. I would reccomend riding it!

They say this is the first steel tubular track coaster ever built... EVER... Like, in the entire world! It was built on supports & scaffolding and then the mountain was finished around it. Quite ingenious! This ride scared me to death when I was a kid but now I enjoy the whimsical nostalgia of zipping past the screaming abominable snowman, Harold. Adults find it cute but small children may be terrified.

Pretty good ride overall.A little bumpy (but, again, this was the first of its kind), so watch your back, but I still enjoyed the ride.The Abominable Snowman may be rather frightening for younger children (it scared me, a 17 year old, at some points), but otherwise a nice little ride throughout the mountain.

Amazing ride! lots of dips, twists, and turns. In my opinion the side in which you enter through fantasy land (Left side) Is by far better than the right side.Tip: The best times to get on this ride are- 8:00 am. 12:00 pm. or during the featured Disneyland show at the time of your visit to Disneyland.

Not the best thrill ride. It looks cool with the yeti and the snow but thats the only good thing. It seems like itll be fast with drops but its mainly just a spiral downwards. Recommend if youre not a fan of drops.

I love this ride! It is fast and thrilling. You may feel a bit claustrophobic at the beginning at the tunnel with a low clearance, but other than that, this ride is a blast!

VERY fun ride with rollercoaster aspects without being too scary for more nervous riders. (Obviously use your own judgement)

I loved this ride in the seventies and just went on it last night after all these years. I forgot how quick the corners are but all and all love this ride. I love the audio effects of the mountain, they add to the experience!

Very cool ride! The abominable snow man actually works, and the broken skyway cart is cool. This ride hurts like hell, but the theming is worth it.

Worst experience of my life I pay for fast pass then get separated from my significant other twice. Upon mentioning it, Im told that it is all together which was a definite lie.Wont do this ride ever again... may never do Disneyland again. Was going to make a biannual trip, forget it now!

The yeti is fantastic. Better than the one you get in Animal Kingdom. That being said the ride is a little awkward and seating was tight at 61

Theyve apparently upgraded the Yeti inside from cute to OH MY GOD HES GOING TO MURDER US ALL in the past few years. Loved it!

Had to take Aleve after this ride. My back hurt the rest of the day. Another person posted it was like riding a shopping cart down a flight of stairs. Spot on! So disappointed because it was my first trip to Disneyland and I was looking forward to finally riding it. Nothing like Big Thunder Mountain.

Iconic ride!! Much less jerky than the early days. The ride operators wear the coolest outfits... Lederhosen, white shirts with colorful embroidery, wool coats with velvet trim. You really feel like youre in Austria or Germany

I love the Matterhorn aesthetically. I like the alps theme. The abdominal snowman is cool. Why 1 star? The ride cars are too small. If you are over 6 foot and 250 lbs, it is going to be a tight fit. There is zero suspension or anything to dampen the ride. You will feel every bump on that ride. If they could upgrade the cars, again, and make them comfortable for taller and larger people and add real suspension, I would change my rating to 5.

Other than Sleeping Beautys Castle, the Matterhorn is one of the main iconic sights within Disneyland, and holds the Matterhorn Bobsled ride. The carriages are configured with riders behind each other as you would expect in a bobsled, and the ride is a very rickety high speed rollercoaster through the inside and outside of the mountain. Be sure to look out for Abominable Snowmen as well ! A slightly tamer version of the Animal Kingdom Expedition Everest ride in Orlando. Not to be missed despite it being painful !

Fun and exciting ride, but its short for such a long wait time. There really needs to be a FastPass, but Single Rider can speed up the line.

I Remember go on it when I was 4 with original yeti it scared the heck out of me and my friend. I went on it again but this time my friend was a little scared so I went with my parents and her dad. The yeti was so much louder and I had my eyes covered. I went a few months ago and I’m 9 now and the ride is much more cheesy and better now that I’m older and more mutre.

I love this ride but it’s very jerky and I can only do it once a trip! I recommend using a fastpass here to avoid long waits. The new yeti animatronics are worth at least one try!

Probably one of the most difficult rides to get on because of design.1hr + wAit. Pretty decent ride otherwise

If you enjoy riding in a shopping cart down a flight of stairs then this is for you. The seats are still terrible even after many variations over the years. The track is awful on your back and you will feel it for days. I am sure its a cost issue as to why they dont fix the tube track to make it smooth like big thunder mountain. Its great to see Harold still angry and still trying to catch you, I hope he never does. But just seeing him is not worth the pain. Bring aspirin...

My scaredy cat butt got a great thrill out of this. It’s not too hard on the back for those with lower disc problems either.

The ride is really starting to show its age. I remember coming here as a kid, and it was a thrilling ride. Now its just a choppy, slow, somewhat boring roller-coaster. I thought it would be fun for nostalgic purposes, but I was just overall very disappointed with the experience.

Cool experience. Saw the line was too long, so used a fast pass. The ride is semi-fast, and there is also a part with water, so beware!

Its a really old ride which is why its not a smooth ride. But if you dont have a bad back and are in great shape, its fun riding past the cool yeti in the mountain.

It was great I really wasnt yeti for that kind of thrill. Just so you snow it is pretty intense.

Ive wanted to go on the Matterhorn since I was a kid, so I was psyched to finally be able to go on it earlier this year. Unfortunately this ride doesnt seem to have been updated in any way, shape, or form since it opened in the late 50s. This ride is super rough! It didnt completely ruin the experience but Im legitimately confused on how this is still one of the busiest rides in the park still.

A fan favorite that’s worth the wait. Don’t let the lack of major drops fool you, this ride is all about speed and bumps. A thrilling experience with a classic retro feel. Don’t miss it!

Fun original roller coaster. Quite bumpy by todays standards but it is 50 years old.

VERY bumpy. I almost thought I was going to get a back injury from the ride. My back crackled at one point from the jostling. Still loads of fun. Just make sure you are in good condition before riding.

This is the best Disneyland ride. It has a scary moment with yetis but if you can handle snow whites scary adventure you could handle this

My daughter and I especially love the right side. It has the best view of the park!!

For a gentler ride ask for the right side. For a much more exciting ride go for the left track.

We loved it the first few times but our last trip a few years back it was very bumpy! Ive heard they have fixed this issue which would be amazing as I really enjoy the atmosphere of this ride... Oh and go when no one else is there and score the front cart if the left track. Its the best.

So bumpy! As much as I want to love this ride I cant, its so uncomfortable. I have to sit in a squatting position so I wont be in pain afterwards.The new editions are pretty neat, but once again its hard to actually enjoy this ride due to its bumpiness. I definitely dont recommend this ride for kids under the age of 5 since its a bit rough.This is one of the rides I would hop on within the first few hours of park opening since they dont offer a Fast Pass option. Their wait time typically passes an hour.The minimum height is 42.I will say this ride is great for someone who is a thrill seeker.

I had a fantastic first time ever ride on this ride which happens to be the very first modern steel roller coaster in the world.For a coaster that 50+ years old it was running really smooth.There are some bumpy bunny hills along the way but that didnt bother me. The turns are smooth, the drops are fun and the water splash at the end is definitely the highlight.Be sure to keep an eye out for the abominable snowman as he stalks you throughout your journey.

The original roller coaster at Disneyland. Walt Disney stated he did not want any roller coasters in his Park. But Matterhorn really was very different from all those. A true classic and the stamp of approval from Walt himself.

DO NOT GO ON THIS RIDE!!!!!!! I dont think Disneyland has replaced the wheels since it opened and therefore its very loose and extremely jarring to the point where it felt like Rocky Balboa was punching my back repeatedly like a side of beef out of the original Rocky movie.. .not kidding

This ride is abusive to adults and disney doesnt seem to care. Ive sat in the back of roller coasters before but this was by far the worst experience. The NEED to fix this.

A classic Disney ride. The right track is smoother than the left track. The left track has more drops bit feels rough. Still a great thrill ride after all these years.

This is one of THE most recognizable classic rides in Disneyland! Its a super fun ride, with plenty of high speed turns and jinks, and keep an eye out for the yeti! I only give this ride 4 stars because that line....oofff....that line can get extreme.Otherwise, jump on, enjoy the ride and dont get caught by the yeti!

I just hated it, I went on it with my children and my younger one, his stomach started bubbling.Then he didn’t feel well. But then gadgets for coaster saved him

Such history with this attraction, one of the 3 e ticket attractions that debuted in 1959. This attraction just got a major refurbishment in 2012 that swapped out the ride vehicles. The result though, is what I feel is a rougher ride. Also, the height requirement has been increased to 42 from a previous 35. As such, an average 3 year old can no longer ride on this ride.

Very fun ride! If you have a 5-6 year old dont take them on the ride, there is a tiny jump scare.

Fun little roller coaster with dips and turns, but it is a bit rough and the seating angle is a bit odd.

This ride is great. Went on it about 12 times when I first visited the park. Im a fairly big guy and have had no problems with this ride.

Just as awesome as ever...a blast from the past!
