Without a doubt, this place was better than other escape places. I dont care about covid but was fully contactless. Had me outsmarted and truly was worth it with best friends.I would go again, wouldnt bring any little kids... Seems like a waste. Other than this, the young Lady Morgan I spoke with was very sweet and helpful and really into making our experience great. The voice from above was also nice.

Best escape room I have been to. It was nicely themed, challenging and interactive. We did the post-Apocalypse room and the setting was just brilliant. All the puzzles that needed to be completed were interactive which was super cool and creative. It really felt like you were in a video game with levers opening doors, old computers that were actually working and used as props to solve puzzles. The best escape room I have been to so far. Will definitely try out the other rooms when Im back in LA.

From start to finish this experience was completely non contact. We were greeted through a text message before coming inside, then with a key to a room and a walkie talkie conversation inside. A+ for covid friendliness.Did both rooms they have, and both were amazing. The decorations were completely immersive and set up impeccably. Both The Overgrown (with a male host whose name we didnt catch, but who was awesome to have at our backs) and Christmas at the Franklins (with Morgan, she was also an amazing elf leader and was who helped us over the phone for our booking) were linear rooms, which was perfect considering each room actually had 4+ rooms. I wish this place had more.Called before coming in to see if they could take us early, and they were more than happy to completely disinfect early and get us in extra early. They got us in 2 hours early for the first room, and we asked if the second was available, and they had us back in a room in 15 mins.THANK YOU ESCAPE ROOM ERA

My third time visiting Escape Room Era. Me and my group played the Overgrown, and we had a blast!! The puzzles were great just like other rooms but with more interesting story and unexpected ending!! Our game master Jeremy was awesome. Funny and very immersive from the beginning to the end. He made sure to go over all the rules/guidelines, and was attentive when we needed him for a couple of code check. I cannot wait to play their new room!!

If you’re looking for an awesome place to do an escape room this is the place to go! We did Overgrown and it was one of my favorite escape rooms ever. The concept was super new and the overall decor of the room is so cool. Katalina was our host and she was great and I liked that she stayed in character. It made the room so fun and our group was fully immersed into the theme. Not to mention she is also super welcoming too! Would highly recommend.

I did the Benjamin Franklins Invention Room and thought that the puzzles were very clever and challenging. I really liked all the different angles in which the puzzles were presented to us. I would recommend this escape room to anyone. The puzzles are educational and teach you something about Benjamin Franklin and how inventive he was. It is fun and entertaining for kids and adults alike. I would definitely bring friends and family to this escape room.

I have done my fair share of escape rooms in the area, so I have a pretty good feeling for the different levels of experiences out there. While Escape Room Era is not going to blow you away with set design, the puzzles themselves are the important part of any room, and this one has some good puzzles. There is one moment in particular I liked, which when you have to solve it you think Is this really the solution? and was something I had not yet seen before. That being said, there were some other puzzles that I was not too happy with, namely riddles (one in particular). The staff was friendly, and they go a long way to set the theme (which was pretty unique), including handing out period hats and glasses and making the entire thing done by candlelight. There are a few anachronistic issues, such as signing in using a quill and ink but also asking for an email address, as well as one or two things in the rooms themselves that kind of break immersion, but that didnt stop me from enjoying the experience as a whole.

Such a fun experience! Me and my boyfriend were visiting Anaheim for the long weekend and we were looking at fun things to do when Escape Room Era popped up. The room was super well done. The detail to the whole story line and everything blew our minds. Our advisor Moe really brought the whole experience to another level. I love how passionate Moe was and excited he was about our whole journey. We definitely got stumped and needed clues and Moe was there to help. Next time we are in the area we will definitely be doing another one from this company!!

Ive never been to an escape room before but thought I should try it since I was visiting family within the area for the holidays. I came across this escape room and I’m glad the first one I got to play was here! My group and I did the Christmas room and even though the room was very kid-friendly and would seem rather simple, we actually got stumped on a few parts just because we were overthinking it. But we finished just in time! Our host Katalina did an amazing job at getting into character, which made the whole experience even better in my opinion. Without a good game master there honestly wouldn’t be much to the escape room. Can’t wait to try out the other rooms the next time I’m in town!

My friends and I did the overgrown room. We had Veronica as our Gamemaster. Let me just say, she was a trooper. In the end you get to decide whether or not you kill the scientist. We decided to kill the scientist. We all hid inside the room and when she entered to congratulate us, we shot her with a nerfgun that had a single bullet in it. She fell to the floor and we all laughed. The entire experience was really fun. I suppose some would say the the puzzles are easy, but I would say they are clever and satisfying. Thanks guys!

The Escape Room Era was an awesome family reunion activity. It was definitely a teamwork effort to solve the clues. Some of the puzzles were truly innovative and clever. Our group, which came from Guam, and the states of Washington, New Jersey, Texas, and Ohio, had a lot of fun working together and figuring out the clues. We were able to get to Benjamin Franklins invention before the British got to it, with about a minute to spare. Allison, who gave us directions, was very sweet and informative. The owner, David, is nice and wanted everyone to just have fun! Thank you for the great time!

Awesome experience at this escape room. From the very beginning the lobby is themed according to the time period of the room. Also provided a little costume for everyone to get you into the theme of the room as well. That was fun. The clue system was very clever and fit the theme of the room. The puzzles were challenging and very fun. Some of them I had never seen before and really liked how much thought was put into them. Im a newbie at escape rooms, this one was only my 5th one but I had a ton of fun! Went with a group of 6, and everyone really seemed to enjoy it. They currently only have one room, the Benjamin Franklin room, but theyre adding a new one in February. David was our helper, and he was super friendly and nice, even though we were the last group and there pretty late. The design of the room was pretty intricate, so I highly recommend bringing more friends. Parking is kind of small, although I had no trouble finding a spot.Overall, the service was great, the design and theme of the room was great, and my group had a blast solving all the puzzles. 10/10 would recommend.

This was my 3rd escape room. I took my girlfriend here with another friend and his girlfriend. Couldnt have been more impressed with what this room has done. It was more unique than the first 2 rooms by a long shot. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants cheap cost, mind challenging fun. The other is very nice, respectful and knowledgeable in all aspects. His assistant was a very professional person and stayed in character the whole time. Clearly they understand business and how to satisfy customers. I plan to go again in the near future since it was so much fun. 2 thumbs up for sure!

This escape room had a unique theme around the Revolutionary War. The puzzles are unique and fun. There is one puzzle that requires three people so you cant do this room with less that three. The pay off is great and very much fits in with the theme. The staff also has fun, getting into costume and character. Hints are available but unlike many escape rooms where you can use a radio to ask, you must give a secret knock, at which point the staff member will enter and give you hints. We were running behind the time at the end and were given a lot of prompting to point us in the right direction. There are several parallel puzzles so different people can be working on different things at the same time, avoiding the problem of everyone standing around waiting for one puzzle to be completed so the whole group can move forward. There is a small set of training puzzles before the main room to familiarize guests with types of locks you will be working with once you start the main room. All in all, well done and a lot of fun, even if you are a veteran escape artists.

The five of us had so much fun solving their Halloween room, the Case of the Missing Candy. This room deserves a strong 5 points star rating. 1. Gamemaster - Joe was thorough, funny and helpful. 2. Decor - From the floor, to the walls, to the ceiling, almost every inch was decorated so that we were easily transported from the hallway of an office building to the exterior of a barnyard, including the night sky and grassland.3. Sounds - Sounds of the countryside further deepened our immersion.4. Lighting - Great light effects were used to create a night time surrounding and was an important element in some puzzles. 5. Puzzles - Creative, fun puzzles, all relating to the theme. We had 3 minutes to spare, didnt break any records but we all enjoyed this room tremendously.

One of my favorite rewarding escape rooms by far! Here were the non-spoiler highlights:1) Excellent use of lighting throughout.2) Immersive colonial theme and you get to wear freaking hats. And you sign your waver with a quill.3) Good useful warm up puzzles in lobby.4) Hints and puzzles were challenging but clear and smooth. Nothing left us confused whether we got a correct answer or not. Therefore completing the puzzles felt rewarding.5) Many unique design elements that had the “wow” factor.6) Oh, and Benjamin franklin’s assistant! XDJust do this one! A second escape room is in the works with a different unique theme, so I’ll certainly be back.

At one point I literally stopped playing just so I could marvel at how they had set up a puzzle. The mechanism they used was just that cool. They were set up well and were very rewarding to solve. I can honestly say this is the most accomplished Ive ever felt while going through an escape room. It was satisfying solving each and every puzzle. And there was a good amount of parallelism. By far one of my favorite escape rooms OF ALL TIME!!!!Parking and location: I came in the evening and parking was pretty scarce. We found parking in the back lot of Alea Cafe though. I told the owner and he said that downstairs, there is a cross fit gym and the members just take up ALL the parking spaces but the back lot of Alea Cafe is always open. The actual lobby and room itself is on the 2nd floor of the building. Before entering the building, you can see a door and behind it are just stairs so walk up and you will find the room to your left.Lobby: The lobby area is colonial themed and quite spacious enough for about 8-12 people. I loved signing the waiver form with a QUILL PEN it was so cool! Immediately the owner offered us some COFFE AND WATER! Let me tell you, not a lot of escape rooms offer coffee and water! It was awesome!Rules and Game: Our host was very clear on all the rules and he definitely emphasized that even though we can have our phones with us and Text or Call if we needed to, we should refrain from using it otherwise during the game. So that would include photo taking or recording at any given time during the game. However, after we finished the game we are allowed to take pictures in the finale room. After the rules, he gave us the scenario of the game and told us to wait for Benjamin’s assistant to arrive to guide us to his invention room. It was AWESOME seeing the assistant because he is fully dressed in colonial attire!! He led us into the room and we were allowed to bring the candles that were provided to help us see in the game since it’s a colonial theme the room is mainly candle lit (electronically of course). The puzzles were so well thought out!!!!!!! Each puzzle connects to the story and Benjamin himself and his inventions so well! Each puzzle is definitely unique in their own way and you have to definitely think outside the box for a few of them. The puzzles are quite difficult so I would recommend having four or more people in your group so that you can all work together on the puzzles. Thankfully our group escaped in just about 5 min to spare! THE FINALE ROOM IS THE BEST PART OF THE ROOM!! And that’s all I will say about that lol.Overall review: I HIGHLY recommend this escape room to anyone who enjoys history! Also if you are looking for a room that emphasizes solely on solving puzzles this room is for you!!! The decor is a little lacking and probably needs more decoration BUT the puzzles and the uniqueness of them definitely outweighs the appearance!!!! Also, the finale room is AWESOME so that also makes up for the lack of decoration as well. This is also great for kids at the age of 10 and up because it’s all educational and it’s NOT SCARY AT ALL. Like I said before this room is pretty dark but that is because it is colonial theme so keep that in mind.I LOVE THIS ROOM THANK YOU DAVID FOR HOSTING US!!!!!

My friends and I (4 total; 2 avid, experienced escapers and 2 more casually experienced) thoroughly enjoyed the Benjamin Franklin room. The puzzles were unique, many I hadnt seen before, innovative, yet intuitive (though some were simple and others fairly complex), with plenty of surprises. The puzzles did include some riddles, which I found to be the more frustrating part of the room, given the answer wasnt as immediately producible. (But Ive never been a huge fan of riddles)The room claimed to be for intermediate-level escapers and it seemed to hold up to just that. My friends and I escaped in just under 35 minutes, just missing the room record of 30 minutes and 55 seconds used by the fastest clearers.Service was top notch (Joe was a wonderful host to us, quite informative both before and after the escape room), the props were quite mood-setting & historically appropriate/actuate and it was a great deal, too! I would definitely recommend this room to anyone looking for a room a step up from the beginner levels or if youre an experienced escaper looking for a solid, refreshing room in the Anaheim area to do after having finished up the classics.
