Great big area for dogs. Water rarely works and usually out of bags, so bring your own. The people generally have well behaved dogs. I would recommend for a very friendly playful dog.

My pup loves coming here and always has to lay in the floorboard because he’s so tired from running around and playing

It has its ups and downs. The water works half the time, so I recommend bringing water for your dog. It gets muddy so expect muddy dogs. Great place to let your dog run leash free and socialize. The poop bag station is always full.

Good space to let your dogs run and play. Some dogs were too aggressive for smaller breeds but other than that my dachshund had a great time.

I don’t understand how there is not one bench along the walking trails (not by the pond), especially when many use it for physical rehabilitation? If I hadn’t had my walker, I would have collapsed on the ground. Disabled and the elderly need a place to sit down and for those of us that don’t have physical strength to make an entire loop, benches would be nice and expected since this is a public park. There are no water fountains, no benches, or trash receptacles on this walking track.

Good dog park, water fountain didn’t work for the dogs though. Just bring a bowl and a little water for your pups and it’s great.

Nice park. A little dry. Not everyone cleans up after their dogs...thats a little frustrating. Sunsets are great from this park.

I like that it is completely fenced. One thing I dont like is that the water source is unavailable every time I have gone. Others I spoke to say that it is usually off.

Park itself is decent enough could use some more grass inside the enclosure and the water fountain for the dogs are very temperamental it will either work or not work so be prepared to bring a jug of water.

While walking onto the park my dog was attacked by a pit bull.Called animal control and they stated it was an at risk park.Hole in my boot??, scrape on my dog,and another groom.Enter this park at ypour own risk.

Love this dog park! It’s big and when the fountain doesn’t work everyone seem to take turns bringing a gallon of water for them all. There’s enough space to where the not as friendly as the puppy dogs can go and be there and the friends with everyone dogs can be away from them love it

I was just driving through but stopped with my lab. Neat area with softball games going on and large space for dogs to run. The only thing I didn’t like was that the gate was a bit of a walk from the street/parking. I have a bad knee and my dog pulls when she’s close to the park so I struggled a bit. Otherwise, it was great. Lots of dogs there on a beautiful Wednesday evening.

Always enjoy this park as theres plenty of room and lots to do. We come here with the boy Scouts on a regular basis to work on advancements and merit badges. Today I was enjoying a beautiful day in lunch with my dad! Good times!

To say the least, people should really consider keeping track of where their pets are while in the park. There have been numerous instances where my puppies have been attacked by dogs whose owners are nowhere to be found, or just don’t care. It’s frustrating that people have the audacity to just walk away without having said a word after their dog jumps another. OKAY... the other half of the times we are there, it is phenomenal and my puppies have so much fun.

Great gathering of dogs; however, they allow non-neutered dogs which leads to some male dogs being aggressive towards them, and females who arent spayed right before, during, and after they are in heat. People lack the knowledge of canine behaviour which results in a lot of miscommunication, and dont adhere to the posted rules.

Nice pet owners. Pets well behaved. But it seems no one takes personal responsibility for their dogs poo. Its nasty everywhere.

Mediocre dog park. Fenced in, in the middle of John stiff memorial Park. Lots of sports fields and playgrounds near by. No water feature.

While this is the best dog park in Amarillo, Im only giving it a 3 star rating in hopes that the city will pay more attention to the park. The park offers hardly any shade, half the time the only water fountain doesnt work, and theres hardly any grass. The park however is miles above any other outdoor park in Amarillo.

The best park on the south side. It has a dog park skating park regular walking sidewalks ball fields soccer fields workout stations along walking trails. It has covered lighted huge gazebo. It has swing sets play area with slides. It has benched to sit down. It has several public restrooms. It has a Water Still in walking distance to grab tea or flavored water. Great location. Marked walking trails. Large grassy areas to sit as well.

Has massive baseball fields, volleyball courts, a public pool open during summer operation, also has one of Amarillos first and biggest skatepark with huge fullpipe! Other than that the park is so big you could have any kind of event you wanted here! Skatepark is free. Baseball fields go with league season times!

The fenced-in dog park is pretty huge, and the rest of the park campus is massive. There are bathrooms and multiple parking areas. We were there in the morning, and our visit was pleasant and uneventful. We came back at night, and my car got egged while we were sitting in it, so beware of sketchiness after dark I guess.

Lots of room to play, needs more stations for clean up bags other than that a great place to bring friendly dogs. Lots of regulars and a water station makes it nice.

The dog park was very clean and large enough for many dogs to play ball or just sniff around.

Its a big open area for big and small dogs. If your dog is aggressive youre asked to leave (If you dont take it upon yourself). They have a doggy water fountain and park benches. Its a good way to meet people. :3

The dogs here are fun but the park is small and mostly just dirt.The most busy times are from 5-7 so make sure to bring your dog around then

Great dog park with a lot of room for the dogs to run. Only complaint is that it gets extremely muddy after it rains, and its often closed for maintenance.

We decided we would surprise our dog to a treat. Our poor baby ended up with worms. We will never return to that park.

Great dog park. I take my dog out there so he can do some running around, but there are usually a decent number of dogs out there if you want your dog to have someone to play with.

This is a large dog park that my dog loves to run around. There is a water fountain for dogs and a couple of bowls, but they didnt work last time I went.

Great sized dog park. Has a water fountain, is completely fenced in and has a dog bag/garbage station near the entrance. Some of the owners who come here are trash though and never even acknowledge their dogs pooping. Lots of messes around the park because of this reason.

Kids loved the many different things to climb on. The little ones loved the seat swings.

Nice, safe enclosure. Go early in the morning! I made the mistake of jogging around the park first so by the time we got into the dog park it was a bit crowded and unfortunately not all the dogs were as well-behaved as mine and she was quickly overwhelmed by the minor fights.

The second largest dog park in Amarillo, the biggest being at Thompson park, is located in John Stiff Memorial park formerly known as Southwest park. Entrances to JSM park are from Bell by the Water Still and off 45th by Cassidys. Following any road through the park will take you to the dog park. There is a staging area to unleash before going through the second gates into the dog park area. there are a few benches, trash receptacles. There could be more trees. There is a dog waterer and poop bags are provided for free. Rules are posted on the entrance gate and parking is mainly on the park road with a parking lot just a little further away. I believe the hours are six am till midnight same as park hours.

Good dog park. we stopped here to let our dogs play on our way from Dallas to Seattle. it was a little dusty, but it is Amarillo. good size park and our dogs enjoyed the chance to get out of the car.

They city is really slacking on the bathrooms. They are disgusting and differently not place for children. I would recommend Media Park, cleaner restrooms and nice playground.

Nice park it has a walk path for walkers and walking your dogs. It also has water fountains and waste bags for dogs. Not much shaded places or sitting places.

Nice, big park with doggie water fountains. Very few places to sit and not a lot of shade. There are waste bags and garbage cans, but it seems pick-up is on a voluntary basis, watch your step!

This park would be so much better if they would just clean it up. Too much trash!

Park was good size. They supply poop bags which seemed like no one uses. Poop everywhere all through the park!

My kids love the big park area. Only drawback was the teenagers being reckless and leaving their trash all over the parking lot.
