I did not go to the Cameron Run Water Park, which is not open because of the pandemic.However, I did find the beautiful little lake behind the park, which is idyllic! Cook Lake is a stocked with catfish and trout and is an urban mecca. During weekends you can hear a lot of Beltway noise, but this is still a lovely place to walk and observe turtle families & minnows, red-winged blackbirds & ducks.I almost hate sharing this, if only because its a hidden gem.

I think this place is known for its water park, which is currently (summer 2020) closed. But there is a small park with a paved loop and some fishing bridges around the neighboring pond. Our little ones found great delight in turtle watching, seeing people catch trout ( the pond is stocked), playing on the sculpture, throwing rocks into the pond. A nice place for the little ones play outdoors for an hour. *Very little shade.*

Ive been there with my daughter sometime ago. Its a fun spot thats closer and cheaper than six flags, but I dont think I could take being packed into that pool with so many others again. Its like a human smoothie :-( Id stick with the miniature golf and water slides.

A new man made lake was put in place here for fishing. A nice quiet spot to come to fish or just kickback.

It can get a little flooded if theres been a lot of precipitation, but generally this lovely little park is a great site for fishing, strolling, jogging, generally being outside.

Beautiful park, all kinds of animals to look at. Just be careful with small children. Many people fish here and my son briefly went off of the trail to look at a turtle in the water and came back with a hook in his shoe. This caused me to look more as we walked around the park. I noticed pieces of fishing line and a few more discarded hooks on the ground. :(

Been coming for years, seems like the staff is resentful of their jobs now, which sucks for everyone. Still fun for the kids.

So in summer its a Waterpark, end of summer they open it up for dog day Paddle and there are pups everywhere, was really cool! This week we went for the converted winter wonderland. They have lights, skating, food and places to just hang out, we had a great time. Lots of room, easy to walk and if you want to go big they have VIP tents you can purchase with heaters and to stay warm. Lots of skaters and there were a fair number of people there and Toms of free parking in the lot. Go check it out!

Great family place for summer fun

Just visited the new Winter Village the park has set up through the winter months on a Saturday evening. It was a little crowded given it was the weekend. Overall, was a fun little stop to spend an hour with the family. Light displays were nice and there were a few games small kids could enjoy. The $5 per adult entry seemed a little steep just to enter the park given you could exhaust the non-ice skating activities in about 15 min.

The winter light show with ice skating was a ton of fun. My kiddos enjoyed it a lot. It is conveniently located to my house and not super packed. I would recommend giving it a try if its the time of year.

This park is amazing! Batting cages, water park and mini golf make for an inexpensive, fun-filled day with the family.

A lovely place to be and to spend time with family and friends especially during the summer when the pool is open and the kids are running free and wild. Our family enjoyed our visit and mingling with the uber educated families with a decent disposable income and keen interest in the globe

The worst water park in my life, in whole world. Trash everywhere, dirty water, small place, a lot of people, only one pool, cost 16$ Wich to much.

We visited this during the Ice and Lights winter period. The admission fee was $5 for just the lights. One of the he only reasons that it got even 3 stars is because it can be fun if you go with the right person/people. Its not necessarily a bad quick stop on a date night if you just want to go somewhere to see Christmas lights. But, overall, it was the least impressive light display I have ever paid to see - and I have seen many others for free that were much better. They must have paid big money for the pictures and description on the website because it was not at all like that.That said, if you have young toddlers, the ones we saw there were loving it. This is the other reason it made it to 3 stars.As for the skating rink, it is real ice but it is not well maintained at all. It looked like several days had passed since anything was done with it. While we were there, there were young kids using it as a form of demolition derby arena with these whale-shaped skating helpers that I am assuming are rentable there. This while the skate guard just skated around, not even looking over at them as they were crashing into each other. For those kids, it was likely a blast but if you wanted to actually skate, the Mount Vernon Rec Center is not far away and is a much better option.Like I said, with the right person/people, it wont necessarily be a bad time. But if you think you are heading to a winter wonderland that will cover an entire evening, you are not. You could walk through the whole thing in 3 minutes without having to really try.

Great place to exercise and not get mugged

If you are coming for the advertised Christmas lights and skating, prepare to be immensely disappointed. Better yet, save your $17, its not worth it. I could see what they have being fun for large families with children under 10, other than that do NOT make the same mistake my girlfriend and I did.

Batting cages are convenient. Staff is always nice and helpful. There are ALWAYS issues with the cages operating properly. Specifically, the softball cages.

Small but pretty

Google keeps thinking I visit the Park when I actually stop at the Alexandria Animal Welfare League to hand off or pick up rescued critters on their ways to new furever homes. Maybe posting this review will set them straight. And while up to this point, none of my critter fares have needed the services of AAWL, the latter is a first rate outfit with the animals well being in priority. Adopt, dont shop.

The park is good and has a lot of fun things to do for all ages. The wave pool is awesome. I would suggest wearing water shoes or flip flops when walking around because the cement is very rough on your feet and the turf is hot. Getting food takes a long time especially just to get fries and hot dogs. Would recommend eating before or after you go to the park. You can bring water bottles to the park.

Great Park to walk and enjoy the summer night !

I was there for a family reunion so I can’t tell you anything about the cost to get in or the cost of concessions. What I can say is the wave pool was a lot of fun. My kids had an amazing time on the two different slides that they have going into pools of water. There’s also a splash pad that is great for smaller kids and adults too. I happened to be there on the hottest day of 2019. I think the heat index was around 110. It was really nice to be able to get in the water

Wave pool is fun. Guards were diligent. Offered us free passes to come back when park had to be closed due to weather. Food was meh, out of soft serve, fries were cold, cafe was dirty and employees acted like it was a bother to serve you. But kids had fun. Slides were good. Playground was closed off, sandpit is gone.

Had a blast here. Didnt realize that the park was as big as it is. Its more than a water park. Theres a lot of activities on site. We went on a Wednesday, and not crowded at all. Its full price before 4. We were able to receive coupons to arrive at 3 with a discount so that worked perfectly. This is a cool water park and we will return.

Great place locally for a water park day. Gets crowded quickly during these summer months but a great outing nonetheless. Because of the larger crowds, they could use a larger changing area. Good that they allow you to bring your own snacks.

This place isnt the worst. And could use improvements. The food wasnt great and little variety. Lines for the consession were long and the teenagers behind the counter could have used an adult manger around. The kid ages should be 10 and younger. Any older than ten the kids lose interest. The tubes for the floating were held hostage for hours! I mean you would go to take an empty one and some kid whose family already had ten would snatched it up. I would suggest more tubes and more family sizes tubes. More adult supervision for the teenage staff. But great wave pool; that interactive water thing; kiddie pool were worth it.

Often dirty and under managed in the summer. Its as if its a surprise to both the food service staff and facilities that they are running a waterpark that meets maximum capacity often. Get new management who cares what their 16-25 yr old employees do!!

Our son is 4 years of age and we enjoyed it. We attended the christmas lights event. I do however wish that there were more things to do. Games, challenges, activities, etc. That we and everyone could have participated in. The best part of the night was ice skating. But this presents a problem. The event is suited for older kids. A blossoming family with 1-2 year olds wont be able to enjoy the festivities as much. Also the food is overpriced for what is offered.

Got here right at 10, when the mini golf was supposed to open. Walked to the shack, where a sign said to walk across the parking to the batting cages to pay. That cashier had absolutely no idea how much to charge or even where the golf balls were. We’ve been waiting a half hour

Hello.My family and I visit on June 30,2019. We enjoyed ourselves. The only flaw we had was the food station. The counter tops was very sticky and filled with trashed, and our funnel cakes were cold. Also, it was a small dead mice near the kid pool were the slides are located. I informed one of the life guards. She didn’t do anything but move it from the corner of the pool. Kids was still stepping on a dead mice. I had to inform another employee to remove it. Also, the bathrooms need cleaning. Please inform the works to clean the food station and bathrooms more often. Thank you ... I took pictures as well

A wonderful Winterland! They transform a water park into lights, igloos and an ice rink (yes, igloos).

First time going with my husband 5yr old and 2yr old. For the price its a great spot we had an amazing day Awesome place to visit when you have little people and want less to worry about. Just wish the dipping dots line moved a little faster stood on like for over 30mins.

Again, the main attraction of Cameron Run Park itself is in its proximity to a host of other parks and that it is part of a greater network of trails for running, biking or just walk your dog in this peaceful setting.

It was a busy weekend but the pools were reasonably clean. The bathrooms were as it can be expected considering the place was packed with people. Lifeguards work hard to keep the peace. No issues.

Amazing. The kids loved it, especially the wave pool. On redesign, add a lazy river and itll be perfect! They have minigolf too. Fairfax parks rock!!!

Great park with a stocked pond for fishing

I really don’t understand why people go to this water park. We go to a lot water parks and by far this place needs some serious management! The lifeguards wouldn’t let you swim in the wave pool. There was so much whistle blowing, you couldn’t tell who they were whistling at! My kids wanted some fries and I waited in line for an hour. I’m listening to 10 customers complain because they haven’t received their fries, funnel cake, chicken nuggets and etc.

Absolutely fun place, family friendly, great price, great atmosphere. Nasty womens rest room. Good hotdogs and fries, other food rather bland and not tasty. Would definitely go back but eat before i go and after i leave.

No shade at all...unless your one of the lucky ones to grab an umbrella...for the kids...its great!! Cafe on grounds...sell pizza etc...Dippin Dots etc....

We went to the water park so that our little ones could enjoy the water. The prices are reasonable all away around. The kiddie side needs to warm the water some more but other than that its a nice place to have some fun. My daughter did not want to leave.

This review is based on the batting cages only. We went at the beginning of the season and they were open and operational just like the phone message said they would be. We spent a couple hours there doing batting practice in the cages. They had 3 slow pitch softball (hoped there would be a fast pitch softball) and slow, medium, and fast baseball. One of the fast pitch baseball was out of order.They had plenty of helmets and bats available for use. The attendants were polite and responsive to attending to the cages when problems were reported by customers and got them working again quickly.These cages also had snacks and candy available for purchase which was a very nice additional touch.As this is now the only batting cage I can find in northern Virginia I hope we can keep this up and running!

The water park itself is nice fun and clean my issue was with the cleaningness of the bathroom and food area .. Bathroom ,we came when they first opened blood and feces in two of the women stalls and no tissue or paper towels. Food area numerous flies flying around employees look young and attitudes. I also dont like that they go in the back and get food and bring it out.

The waterpark was great but the concessions/restaurant had the worse service ever! I was there on 8/20/19 with my family. I even complained to the concessions manager and not sure what he did about it because he told me he was too busy at the time and would address my complaint later with the workers. I saw 2 people get out of the line because they were frustrated with the waiting. I saw at least 8-10 workers behind the registrar but they all look like they were walking in circles. We waited in line at least 20 min before we finally reached the registrar and we were 3rd in line. I ordered 4 sandwiches and 4 order of fries and they put one sandwich at a time on my tray, at least 10 min. in between 2 of the sandwiches. I had to remind them I was waiting on my fries too. The counter top was filthy, looked like the powder sugar from the funnel cakes were all over the counter, the floor had at least 10-15 fries scattered all over and there were several tomatoes on the floor and ketchup packs that had been stepped on. Both trash cans outside were full to capacity. Finally after about 40 min my TOTAL order was filled. If it wasn’t for my kids, I would have cancelled and asked for my money back! If you want, I can post or send you photos of the counter top, tomatoes and fries all over the floor and smashed ketchup packets on the floor. And the young teenagers working the registrar have no clue on customer service, no greetings, no HI MAY I TAKE your order, etc. my cashier had the nerve to repeatedly drink from her soda can and was checking her text msgs while she was taking my order. Also, the pizza parlor was closed this day for whatever reason and most of the dots ice cream flavors were out! Only 2 flavors of at least 5-6 different flavors were available! I will make sure my family and I eat PRIOR to coming to this waterpark again!

Always a Five Star Experience. Living in a urban area with out a private pool, the Cameron Run Regional Park is a great value.

Theres alot of different things to do for fun just needs more shade and better food service.

These facilities would have a lot potential under better leadership.First upon entry youre most likely asked to give up your bag to be searched which is all well and good until you realize the teen assigned that job would rather have his teeth pulled because they just unzip the backpack, glance at it and ask you to move on.Concerning.Then good luck finding a place to park your stuff that isnt seventh ring of hell hot on a given summer weekend. Crowded and naturally all covered areas are booked.Fun.Hungry? The Scrooge McDuck types amongst us will appreciate $5 hotdogs that look as wrinkled as my fingers after soaking in that wave pool that never seems to work when I visit.Pricey.Need to use the restroom? Do you love unkempt floors with clumps of hairballs and pee on the ground (I mean come on guys, this isnt on Cameron Run, its a bathroom, not pin the pee on the everywhere)? Then these restrooms are the dogs bullocks.Disgusting.Anyway fun times.

This used to be the place for a quiet family quality fun time without the 6flag type hype.Now there has been a Groupon invasion.Dont use there anymore.

Tried this place because its included in my annual pass, highly disappointed compared to the other Nova Waterparks. No toys allowed in pool, no kids (regardless of swimming skills) can go past the flags on wave pool. Food choices were minimal and were getting complaints for uncooked or burned food. Dipndots stand didnt have anything other than birthday cake flavor.

Fun place for the family. Really great toddler pool.
