The egg is so cute, and it actually looks like a huge UFO if you see it from the highway or the bridge. It is extremely beautiful when it reflects the sunlight!!!!

Took me a few times coming here to not get lost. Love the retro modern concrete buildings and lights. Staff is helpful getting you where you need be and the shows are intimate with pretty good sound. Short walk to good eats and beer at City Beer Hall and coffee at Stacks Espresso Bar make it a great night out in Albany.

This structure is impressive. The pictures do not do it justice. We visited on a sunday so we were not able to go inside because it was closed. However just how it looks outside is awesome. Next time im in Albany i want to try to come when they are open.

Musician friends got tickets for Adrian Belew, so I drove up from Philly for the show. This is such an amazing venue. Big enough to hold a good crowd and small enough to still be really intimate. The show, sound and seats were astounding. I wish I lived closer. Seriously, this is a phenomenal place to see anything.

The Egg is such a fabulous venue for entertainment! It is located in downtown Albany and is recognized by its shape: egg-like. My husband and I have seen many groups perform and gave always been delighted by the variety and musical excellence of the performers. Tonight we heard Marty Stuart and his band. We saw Marty Stuart on the PBS series Country Music and were impressed by Martys contributions to the documentary. The show was very well-done. Marty and his band were well-rehearsed, played brilliantly, and sang with excellent harmonies. I am not a country music fan, but the music and stories were more than country; they were engaging and impressive. If Marty Stuart is coming to your town, but a ticket and enjoy the show!

Great place, Ive been bringing my family and friends here for years, from ballet, to mermaid theater, to the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Always a great show. Wish there was a bit of signage on which side was left vs right side of Hart theater. But always a great experience.

We saw Almost Queen and the sound was excellent. The theater is really nice and we had plenty of leg room. They have free parking. You can park and walk to any restaurant before the show or just check out Albany. We ate at Jacks Oyster House before the show and the food was great. I am looking forward to seeing other shows there.

A great performing arts and cultural events center, that is also a renowned architectural landmark of the City, this venue is nestled in the heart of downtown Albany NY. The Center is conveniently connected to the underground Concourse, with shopping, dining, banks, public parking and handicap access available. This is a photo of a fabulous performance at the annual Festival of Nations event that takes place on the last Sunday of October. Thank you for the wonderful experiences, The Egg.

There was a concert going with a multitude of food vendors. It was loud and vibrating. It was also quite an experience. We enjoyed being able to walk the kids around and listening to music. If youre going for the music sit in front of the stage. The quality of the music is very echoey by the Egg. The Egg itself is quite an epic building. Underneath is a museum we have yet to enjoy ,but it looks very interesting what plaques have been placed around. The structure is surrounded by fountains and art sculptures. Its an incredible feel. Lots of picnic table and stone bench seating.

The unique architecture is appealing though it does lead to a little confusion. Ive had many friendly and enjoyable experiences here for concerts, comedy, and childrens programming. Parking can be difficult and /or expensive, but thats downtown Albany. Very friendly staff, from ushers to elevator operators and at the box office.

It looks like a relic of an older time, but I can assure you that this venu has still got it. Nestled in the incredible Empire Plaza, the two listening rooms at the egg are incredible venues with excellent sound, and no bad seats in the house. If there is a band there you would like to see, id recommend going.

Went to see a hard rock show here (Nightwish). The building is beautiful, the staff is very kind, the lighting rig is very nice with tons of conventional fixtures, and the venue has great acoustics. That is where my praise ends. The sound system in the room is absolutely awful. I am a event sound and lights professional and it was clear throughout the night that this was not enough rig for the gig.The subs were tubby and not clear and the tops were clearly being driven to their max and the room was not even all that loud. There were many times the vocals couldnt carry above the instrumentation.I didnt take measurements, but, my best guess is it was hovering around 95dba where I was (not loud at all for a metal show).

Great small venue. Loved the projector screen for the far side. We had L orchestra seats, last seats in the row...part of the stage is blocked off by the speakers, but the screens take care of that! Just have. I had a hard time not dancing... thats the only real downside to this venue in my humble opinion.

I went to a comedy show held at the egg for 10pm showing. Free parking at the museum, then you can walk in at the entrance to the plaza near there. You can pick up tickets at the ticket booth there. The line to get in can get long, and everyone is ushered upstairs by elevator which can take a while. Theres a candy/drink bar upstairs, but theres not really food allowed inside of the venue. Seating is pretty in any spot. Inside is pretty clean and beautiful with a decent amount of room. No pictures are allowed inside. I would definitely go again.

Excellent venue that doesnt seem to have a bad seat in the house. The process to get up to the theater from main concourse is a little bit of a burden and time consuming especially after waiting to get into visitor parking lot. Would park on Street and walk into when but hard to manage with 2 little ones and temps in the teens. The venue is worth the wait in line and provides a great overall experience, just factor in extra time for parking and to get into theater.
