Really nice experience. Our second play in the park. Tonight we saw In the Heights. Great cast, music, and overall production. Sat in the seating area which was pretty comfy. I wish the play started earlier-perhaps around 6 or 630, instead of after 8... so that its more kid/family friendly.

So much fun and so accommodating for an outdoor event. Not crowded at all and bathrooms were clean as well as the park. The play was entertaining and funny. All the actors and singers were amazing! They truly showed great professionalism when ambulance showed up for a person in the crowd. They stopped the play until emergency responders did their thing and took the patient to the hospital.

Pretty nice this time of the year. Not to hot not to cold.

This show was fantastic. The cast was phenomenal especially when you consider that they were all students. I have attended many of these performances and have always thoroughly enjoyed them. Appeal to all ages. The outdoor venue at Washington Park is lovely. Highly recommend.

I really loved being here my husbands cousin took me to a play and the play was called the Disney Newsies it was the first time that Ive ever been to a play here since I was visiting from Wisconsin the only downside is that the weather didnt cooperate very well it was raining really bad but other than that the seats were good we brought her own lawn chairs and then we went to Blaze Pizza and we both got our own pizza to go and brought it to the play I would definitely recommend and if Im ever in the area I would go again

My family loves the productions here. Most recently we saw Newsies but weve seen The Little Mermaid and others in the past. My kids, one of which is a rambunctious two year old, actually sat and watched the whole thing. They do an amazing job!

The free plays are a beautiful contribution to this community. Its a great way for the kids to get new experiences. I loved coming down and seeing my first show. Its great for all ages. I cant wait to see many more.

Fabulous production of Newsies!!

Just saw In The Heights; the cast, choreography, live band and production were incredible for a free/low-cost show. The house was pretty packed on a hot July evening. I hope they continue to get great shows and attract talent like the ones we saw tonight.

Tonight August 24 Saturday was the last performance of park playhouse this season. I always enjoy it. Thought tonight was one of the be ssds t Ive seen.

Holiday lights in the park very nice cost 20 bucks per car and then they have a place where you can park with your little kids and see santa take a pic have some cider donuts nice holiday decorations a must for the holidays if your in the capital district

I have been attending the summer performances for 10+ years. I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend getting there early and bringing a picnic dinner.

Amazing the kids are so good. All good seats and great fun. Hats off to the people who think this up and guide the kids.

Pulled over just to get some alone time and peace and thats exactly what I got. Very pretty place and very quiet.

The plays here are top notch! Get there Early, cause folks reserve the free seating during the day. Frustrating? Yeah, but worth it for good theater in the lovely Park !

Intermission at the show IN THE HEIGHTS. This is clearly the highlight of the summer, and perhaps of the whole year. If you are within driving distance, bring your lawn chair and enjoy an incredible show under the stars.

In the Heights was fabulous! So, so good it was like being on Broadway, right here in little old Albany!

I frequently visit this site for a variety of activities for the Capital region. Over the summer they put on plays which are always fun and entertaning but it saves as a meeting place for drum circles, movie nights, and all kinds of other activities. Certainly a great investment by the park.

This is a community play house that runs only in the summer. Terrace seating is free. Get there early for seats.

My husband and I, along with 2 other couples attended the Tuesday evening performance of Damn Yankees at Park Playhouse in Albanys Washington Park and we all enjoyed the show very much. Yes, some of the dialogue is dated but, so what. The singing, dancing and acting was great! The weather was just perfect. In the past, we would arrive 2 hrs early and sit in the free section with our lawn chairs and sandwiches. We always loved it. This time we went online and paid $25 each to sit in pre-selected seats placed close to the stage. Because these seats were reserved, we didnt have to arrive early to get good seats. Very convenient. In this section closest to the stage there are very narrow tables that seat 5 or 6 people each. Eating there would be easy. They sold hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, candy, ice cream and a variety of drinks. I would highly recommend the Park Playhouse, whether using the free seats or the reserved section. Great for families or date-night under the stars!

Bring a blanket or chair and settle down for a great evening of entertainment. Best of all, it’s free, unless you want to sit in an uncomfortable plastic chair closer to the stage for a fee.

A great way to experience theater and art for free in the city. Different shows every year that promote the arts and encourage creativity in all ages. Definitely a must if looking for a free activity to do with the family during the summer!

A bunch of mostly non-diverse people producing theater that appeals to their older, wealthy donors. The classic musicals that they produce are outdated and not in-line with current diversity and inclusivity standards... yet they claim to cater to a diverse audience. Casting lacks real diversity except when required for characters of color. Audience in reality is not tremendously diverse... but its a nice evening in the park ... at least for the first hour and a half or so.

I love their plays in the summer. They are free, and always so great.

Washington park is a great place to go to any time of the season. They bring in a great shows for the locals and people far way to come an see whats going on.

Always a fun time. The park playhouses puts on a good free show, just remember to get there EARLY. We arrived at 630 and the seating was already almost full.

I think the shows at Park Playhouse are absolutely amazing, since coming to Albany in 2013 I have enjoyed the people and the performances. Although I am sad but understanding that last nights performance had to be canceled I am sure the next will make up for the weather.

Year after year Park Playhouse provides the Capital Region with delightful programs and entertaining shows! Just recently saw Chicago and am now looking forward to the Little Mermaid for the second half of the season!
