This is one of the real hidden gems in our area. The performing arts center has so many different avenues 4 entertainment, presentations, student shows, and talks like the one I attended tonight.parking is always the challenge, and scares some people away, but since this is my alma mater Im familiar enough with visitor parking, and Im always able to get a good spot. Its surprising how easy it is to get around campus once you know where you are. The winter nights can be a bit dark and foreboding, but again knowing that its a very easy campus to navigate makes it all the more welcoming. Most visitors after their first time seeing a show, wonder why they waited so long.the show tonight was fantastic, I loved the presenter and the interviewer, and the reception after was fun. I got a couple of books signed, met some really cool people, and overall would not have wanted to be anywhere else on a Friday night in the middle of winter.
Probably one of the nicest buildings on campus, go here for musicals to plays to concerts.
A wide variety of music events are held at SUNY Albany PAC. Day of show tix usually $10. Last night, Akina Yura, classical pianist, did an amazing job playing two sets of Bagatelles and two fantasy pieces (Ferguson, Beethoven, Scriabin, Schumann; 1h15m). They were more enjoyable live than on youtube.
Inexpensive university concerts and plays.
A cozy theatre and a terrific play. We saw a student production of Godspell! The students brought enthusiasm and fun to their performances! It was an enjoyable time!
One of the best music facilities in the area.
Has a practice room in the basement it gives you some quiet place to practice or study. The rooms are a first come first serve basis.
Did a great job managing the indoor graduation simulcast.
College level events and performances. Theater, art, practice rooms, community bands, etc.
