Amazing sound quality here. Saw both Peter Frampton and Robert Cray here some years ago and what a great venue. Not huge by stadium standards and every seat provides excellent sound quality and a great view of all performers.Seating is actually comfortable as well.By far the best indoor theater sound for concert venues including several that Ive been to in Baltimore and Philadelphia.

Great place to catch a show. Beautiful exterior and interior. The get a lot of really good acts. We saw saw Pink Martini there and we really enjoyed ourselves. Because the theater is old the seats can be a bit tight, especially if you are tall. Other than that its a great place.

NOTHING bad can I say about the GRAND. Pick a show and go! I Will add that the ushers and front line ticket takers are not paid staff. All are volunteers with a lot of responsibility for helping to make your evening safe and enjoyable, as well as, doing the same for the guest artists who may dictate how they want the event to go.Yep, this can get confusing, especially when it comes to whether or not you can take pictures or video. THIS IS STRICTLY UP TO THE ARTISTS. Some have been known to say no pictures; then switch up without notice. Who then becomes the spoiler? You got it. So just roll with it. Some folk are going to do what they want anyway regardless. Give the volunteer staff some credit. They really are happy when you are happy.

Small and intimate there is no bad seat in the theater. The tickets are always reasonably priced and the mix of shows means there’s something for everyone. They have 3 theaters. The baby Grand is the smallest and very intimate every seat is within 30 feet of the stage. Copeland hall is larger, but still intimate. The 3rd is the playhouse which is located in the Dupont hotel. That’s were they show the broadway shows. Why drive to Philadelphia? It much nicer in Wilmington.

The Grand Opera House is a beautiful & intimate venue. I dont think theres a bad seat in the house. We saw two operas: Trial by Jury, & Scalia & Ginsberg, presented by Delaware Opera. I enjoyed both very much. Im from the NYC area & go to the Metropolitan Opera. I found the production at the Grand not as lavish as the Met, but still very enjoyable & affordable! If you enjoy opera, give Delaware Opera a try.

So theres a big sign that says no video taping or taking pictures, but yet there are people in the audience taking pictures and video taping. One man went right up to the stage and took a picture and the performer even commented that she would take a picture with him but yet the ushers did nothing. So While others are adhering to the rules there are others that are breaking them as always in life but I guess its allowed at the opera house now. And the ushers dont do their job theres people standing and I know the aisle 3 hunter Edition people cant even get through. And guy stands up for the performance of Jumping All Around into the aisle in front of the seat and its inconsiderate to the people sitting behind him. . The seats are very cramped I dont think well be returning.

A beautiful historical gem in the heart of downtown Wilmington. The seasons shows are varied and entertaining and the staff is friendly and meticulous about taking care of the theatre. The interior architecture alone is worth the visit. Originally built as a Masonic temple and auditorium it boasts beautiful giltwork on the columns and supports and even a fresco painting on the ceiling of its main performance space, Copeland Hall. The Grand contains three performance spaces: the 1,140 seat Copeland Hall, the 305 Baby Grand, and the 1,252 seat Playhouse located in a separate building on Rodney Square previously known as the DuPont Theatre whose construction was completed in 1923.
