We attended the light show at Airlie Gardens and it was beautiful. It was my first time attending. Lots of thought and planning were put into keeping participants safe with social distancing and one way signs while viewing the displays. The singing Christmas trees were my personal highlight! Will definitely visit again.

Fantastic mind-candy and visual escapade. $9 paid online only. Ample parking. Upkeep is excellent and the employees are super nice. Paths are easy and the loop is about one mile. Greek-ruins is a common theme, but local artists add their own punch. Venture off-path and chill in a lounger, discover secret canopies and hidden Gothic statues.

Airlie Gardens is beautiful! There is such a big variety of flowers and plants here that make the scenery so gorgeous. It is a great place for pictures or venues with friends and family. The gardens also holds a ton of incredible events during every season of the year, and when going with large groups it barely costs a thing. If in Wilmington, this is definitely a place to check out!

My husband and I love this place!! It’s a beautiful, peaceful place and we’ve been multiple times! I’m sure it’d be great to bring a book here in the spring or fall. It’s very well kept and normally not too crowded. It definitely gets hot in the summer, so we prefer to go in the spring or fall, but any time it’s great! In the summer they have sunflowers and in the spring they have tulips! The butterfly arboretum is fun to visit in the summer as well. Definitely take your time here so you don’t miss anything! They even have snakes and other reptiles inside by the gift shop.

I could not say enough about these gardens. It is such a tender and peaceful place for my husband and I. We go as often as we can. Our last visit was in March before this whole COVID thing happened. We captured some lovely moments and lots of blooming flowers during our visit. The whole park is so well maintained. It really feels like a little piece of paradise to us.

As much as I used to love Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina, here hasnt beat it is beautiful artistic elegant yet not overloaded and almost commercialize and trashy looking like Brookegreen. So well done so beautiful so peaceful. Well definitely do a family membership when I have the funds available again. Everyone there is so genuinely friendly and kind ineligible.

Quick FYI - Buy your tickets online due to covid! Prepaid tickets only accepted.Airlie Gardens has a semi-long trail with a few off road paths that lead to cute fountains and structures that are great for scenic photos. The gift shop is limited due to covid, but still has a cute selection and a few areas where you can view the local wildlife inside a tank. This is a pretty walk during the summer if you arent expecting a lot of blooms, as a few areas are more for the earlier Spring months. Theres a great overlook if a salt marsh and lovely fields. A cute butterfly garden rests near the end of the trail for you to enjoy (be careful when entering and exiting!)

There is a small admission fee for the gardens, but given how well maintained they are and how long you can spend enjoying their beauty its well worth it.Ancient, spanish-moss covered live oaks, an 1835 chapel, sculptures, piers and boardwalks to overlook the estuary, and wild displays of flowers. They say it takes an hour and a half to walk the 0.9 Mikes of trails, but it took us closer to three. My advice? Go early and take your time.

If you are looking for a quiet peaceful place, this is it. A lot of history so I suggest doing a bit of research and also looking through the main building before hitting the trails. The oaks are magnificent, as well the views . It is well maintained and clean. The employees and volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable and clearly take care of the grounds. A nice place to picnic or just be alone. The butterfly house is magical. The only con for me is it is not dog friendly ( unless you have a service dog) . There is also a small fee but well worth it. Fee is waived the first Sunday of the month for New Hanover County residents, the website is accurate I suggest using it to plan a trip.

This is a beautiful place to take a break from the outside world. From the moment you enter the gardens youre surrounded by serenity in natural form. The walks are leisurely, the scenery is beautiful. Theres water life and plant life, a butterfly enclosure, turtles. There are sculptures, too. The italianate columns verge on kitschy, but are well done. I really like the bottle chapel. Its a round concrete enclosure with bottles lodged into the walls a la earthship. Id like to see them do more with that.Theres too much to list about Airlie Gardens! Its a treasure for Wilmington.
