What a great little spot. Pavilion, grills, pond for fishing, stream to play in and an open field for some backyard sports. Plenty of sunny and shady spots all throughout. Ive been there for weddings in the barn, beer festival, baptisms with our church and just to hang out with the family. A great place for all of those things and more.

Great tours of house and working mill. Only $5 for a tour of both. If youre lucky theyll grind a bit of corn. The property was visited by both Union and Confederate troops prior to the battle of Gettysburg.

What a beautiful venue for an event! Went to a wedding and it was amazing!

It has limited hours so check when it is open before planning a trip. It is definitely worth it. Docents are really into the Shriver family history and their stories are great for Civil War and history buffs. Besides the house, check out the mill where they grind various grains with a restored grindstone. They even sell the flour or products made from the flour. A really local grass roots historical venue.

Such a nice place we happened upon. This grist mill makes flour and corn meal. Cookies are good at the end of the tour.

Brewfest was held here as it is every year which was a fun time. Much more crowded this year than last year and also had less food vendors which was silly. This place has always been a favorite spot of mine to just sit quietly. I remember walking the woods to this property at Outdoor School which makes me smile.

Lack competency in taking care of their facility. We held the facility for a wedding recently and the area we agreed to hold the ceremony at had an in-ground yellow jackets nest in the middle of it when we arrived for the rehearsal the day before. After notifying the facility staff they agreed to take care of the nest. The following day the nest remained alive and active throughout the entire ceremony. This is the kind of service you can expect to receive from this facility. Renter beware.
