While I was visiting our should I say staying at the park with my tent. Allot of people in the area that was just enjoying their eating shopping art or what ever the reason their visit was. They called the police on me after they treated me bad. Some people were emailing the park police telling them I was there and they wanted my tent removed. Im not sure who runs or owns the park. It has not been taking care of the flowers or the grounds dont get watered everyday the flowers are dead no one ever uses the park I watch it everyday it has electricity that could help me keep my business open and running right now during this pandemic we are all facing. The police officers, the park police the park police chief, the Lt. Of police, Officer with the CIT program they were all very rude and talked to me like I was a child, they demanded me around they forced me to move for the fifth or fourth time in a month. I keep getting out of the properties all over this town is like no one wants me to be happy around here. I dont bother no one I mind my own business. Im a loyal citizen. I stay to my self. I clean up after my self. I dont play with fire or start then unless I have the fire safety equipment I need. I thought myself how to be respectful to others, I know it feels to be misunderstood. I have been misunderstood since birth thats because no one took the time out to hear me to busy telling me what to do or how to do it instead of letting me prove myself. Now I can prove myself worthy of anything I choose because someone was watching over me that knows the things I say are true that Im not a trouble maker. Unless I have to defend myself is the only time I get loud like someone stealing from me staring at crazy lying on me following me around. Taking bad about me. Those are the only time I get upset and I believe I have a right to go off about what I pray for or didnt pay for because some one else looked out for me because of who I am.

I signed my teams of for the Lake League long story short they canceled the league not enough teams (which they knew this and said nothing before taking my kids money) and here OT is almost a month later and Im still waiting for them to return my kids 2300.00 which they gave me the run around told me I couldnt pick it up only to find two weeks later I can pick it up. The lady of accounting needs to be fired how are we not insuring $2300.00 or we are sending large amounts with a tracking number Shawnee county park and rec needs to be shut down or they need new people running it SCGSA as well!

I’m Brodie’s grandmother. I was there to watch my granddaughter play soccer. When I parked I was in the 4th row from ball park. Didn’t even think about were I was parking. I didn’t see any signs in the lot . I went out to my car after the soccer game and my sunroof had been shattered. I went back to the entrance to talk to some of the workers. They said they couldn’t do anything about it. I went back out to my car and tried to get the glass off. Ihave fibromyalgia and it is difficult for me to climb. I went back to the front and asked if they could give me some help. The manager told me they weren’t allowed to help in a situation like that. I asked why they didn’t post signs. One of the workers, Rita, was very rude and said the sign at the entrance stated that. I tried to explain to her I went in the soccer entrance and didn’t notice the sign. She started arguing with me and I turn to leave ecause I was in tears and she still was making comments. What was really upsetting was the manager was standing there and didn’t say a word. But there was a couple who saw what happen. They were very nice and helped get all the glass off the top. They suggest I drive over to the car wash and vacuum the rest of. At the car wash there was a young man that saw I was struggling and he finish doing it for me.

Not a review, so much as a concern. The parking area at the 53rd and Adams access point is in bad shape. There are large potholes in the entrance and parking area for one. There is an area on the west edge of the parking area that has become a dump site. Today, there are 3 large, deceased (as in dead) turkeys. And also one dead coyote. The animals are all laid out, side by side as if to display them. I would be glad to help clean the area up, if a dumpster could be provided. Thanks. That being. We are so lucky to have such a large beautiful lake and park so close. Thanks to all who work constantly to keep it clean and beautiful!!!

Our family has rented several SCPR shelters over the years, most recently, Garfield Shelter on 11/19/17. We have always found the spaces clean and well maintained, accessible and reasonably priced. The staff has also been very easy to work with and accommodating. While I cannot speak for the experiences of others, we will continue to use SCPR spaces for our family gatherings. These facilities are a real jewel and benefit to Topeka and surrounding communities. Thank you SCPR!
