All of the Beautiful Flowers, all of the different style archways, the Water view, the beautiful little waterfall!! It was just the most gorgeous beautiful day to go walking through the Gardens of flowers!!

Such a peaceful, calm place to visit. I got married here and had my reception in the garden house. Best day of my life. You have to walk through the gardens at least once. So well maintained and new features all the time.

Lovely garden next to a cleaner- and larger-than-expected lake. Decent fishing to boot, which was also a surprise. Coming from Lawrence, my favorite aspect of this treasure is its accessibility via two-lane roads. No I-70! Lovely diversity of plants; nice statuary and structures; a total win.

Beautiful place to take a leisurely stroll, stop and smell the flowers, have a date, read a book, or sit and relax/meditate. You could even have a lovely photo shoot or possibly a small wedding! It was a great spot to just be able to relax and enjoy the scenery. My kids absolutely loved it even though one of them wasnt too excited about going in the beginning. By the time we left, he said he really enjoyed it and cant wait to come again, especially when the tulips will be in bloom!

Excellent place to go for a road trip from Kansas City. The garden is just adjacent to Shawnee Lake and the view and ambience is too good. You can book shelters also. Its windy and cool ambience is perfect for summer. You can take your kids too for small park nearby. Must visit in Topeka.

The gardens are simply beautiful & fragrant! The grounds are well maintained and colorful from season to season. Lots of quiet spots with benches to sit & relax. Pavillion, arbors, waterfalls, and sculpture all create a memorable and picturesque landscape. Extremely easy to navigate if using a wheelchair. A favorite place to visit often!

This is one of my favorite places to go in Topeka. I have brought my kids there since they were babies. Now at 56 yrs old I bring my grandbabies and my daughters will even tag along still with me.

This is a gem to visit. We happened to drive by on our way back to Kansas City and wanted to pull over to eat a meal we bought. We found a picnic table by the edge of the pond. Then we decided to take a quick walk around the garden which turned out to be most amazing manicured sanctuary. We loved the paths or trails, the abundance of flora and water falls. The back drop of the lake was very relaxing to enjoy an afternoon.

We enjoyed all the areas of these lovely gardens that you access from a paved path. Lots of shady spots with benches to sit and enjoy the gardens and Lake Shawnee. Beautiful sculptures. Clean bathrooms. Ample parking. And its free!

Beautiful gardens and walking paths. I take my dogs here whenever I can. We walk near the lake, watch the boats, watch the people fishing. There are ball diamonds and soccer fields nearby, pic nic places and playgrounds. A must see for the whole family.

Beautiful place! Tulips of almost all kinds dazzled our eyes. We went there during tulip fest and were flushed with a spectacle of colors! The garden is just beside Lake Shawnee adding a soothing vibe to the gardens beauty. Lots of sitting places and managed to find one ice cream truck too! A recommended place for a day trip or hangout or picnic. Will definitely go there again!

The most beautiful spot in Topeka! The gardens are always maintained and the lake is clean and beautiful. We even had our wedding reception there. Everyone couldnt stop talking about how beautiful the gardens are. It was so lovely and we are so thankful that this place exists. Everyone should come here and stop to smell the flowers.

Beautiful little respite from the ugliness of Topeka. Topeka could use more attention to its public parks and to how people are expected to safely walk and bike between them.

For a town that is not really known for its attractions or beauty this is good. It is well kept with many beautiful things blooming even in early August and awesome shady lawns under majestic oaks with the cool breeze coming off of the lake which is right there sparkling through the trees. A great place to take visitors for a lunch and to spend an hour or two strolling.

We are from another city but decided to take family photos in the park. We were pleasantly surprised by the landscaping and appearance. This made for beautiful photos and a very fun family day. The views of the lake from the park are nice and many people seem to enjoy the flowers, ponds, and trails that permeate the park.

We had a great time just strolling thru the paths looking at all the different flowers and waterfalls ... very calming environment.

These gardens were beautiful! Well kept and thoughtful groupings of flowers, bushes, trees and water features. A great place for photo ops. There were two weddings happening on the Saturday we were visiting. Its a beautiful outdoor venue for such occasions. There are several shelter type structures that can be reserved. The views of Lake Shawnee added interest. The lake was busy with boating, paddle boards, fishing. Really a pretty area for walking and relaxing. Much of the garden was accessible for handicapped too.

Its just a peaceful place. Though I would use this time to determine where water overruns the walking paths during rainy weather and regrade them. Just simple things like that will make it more enjoyable in all weather and keep Ted Ensley Gardens ahead of other places of its kind.

We visited near the end of tulip time, and the gardens did not disappoint!! Amazing! The colors were vibrant and the gardens were well-maintained.As visitors to Topeka, we dont have a point of reference for the Gardens outside tulip season (April 4-22). But the trails, bridges, falls, and landscaping are all well done. And the beautiful lake is never far away.One downside -- not an indictment of the Gardens -- was the number of people climbing into the beds of tulips for photos, or sending their children into the flowers for photos. Unbelievable! Anything for a selfie, I guess.

A gem at Lake Shawnee and a Topeka must see. Mornings and evenings are best in my opinion. Take a camera.

Super peaceful and beautiful

Great little park. We went there for the Tulip Festival.The park itself has some very pleasant pathways that wind around tulips and tiny waterfalls. You also have a great view of Lake Shawnee.During the tulip festival there were two main food trucks parked out there that had decent food. The park has a nice covered sitting area with benches, and some very nice sinks in the restroom there.

Great place to visit during the Spring. We went to this place for the famous Topeka Tulip festival and to our surprise, it is really wonderfulto see the tulips bloomed. It was really very relaxing and they have a very good trail and lake to add more beauty to the place. Worth to spenda whole day as a picnic over here.

These gardens are my favorite place to walk my dog, take a stroll with my kiddo, or just a place to go to clear my head! The Shawnee County Parks department does an incredible job with the upkeep! Make sure to visit this place. What a remarkable surprise! On our way to KC for a graduation, we decided to stop in Topeka for the night (road trip from Colorado). I saw the Ted Ensley Gardens on Trip Advisor, so with only about 45 minutes before sundown, we went over... what a surprise!

These gardens are so pretty, especially in the spring time when all the flowers bloom. Its a perfect place for a picnic!

Ensley Garden is my favorite place outdoors in Topeka!! It is beautiful and well maintained. Me and my husband go there to spend quality time. We take walks and enjoy nature. There is a butterfly garden with a cute little bench that is shaded and by the water. Also many other beautiful spots to rest and enjoy nature. There are bathrooms and picnic areas as well. A great place to relax and enjoy nature.

Grew up across the cove from here. Used to steal roses in the 80s and hand them out to the ladies at school. If youre in Topeka, Lake Shawnee and the Rose Rardens are a place to check out, as the rest of the place leaves much to be desired .

This area is one of the most popular areas of Lake Shawnee. Beautiful scenery that make walking, jogging, and even biking, a very enjoyable time! The Garden is also a fantastic place for photography! Its a very popular place to take prom photos and engagement photos since it provides a beautiful backdrop of the lake, water features, and gorgeous flowers. The Garden is very well maintained and very clean. If youre looking for something to do, definitely stop by and enjoy this wonderful area of Lake Shawnee!

We are so glad we discovered this park. Just beautiful! Walking paths, colorful gardens, little brooks and fountains, shelters and pavilions, plenty of benches, a butterfly waystation, as well as a walkway along a natural butterfly area. A big thank you to the people who maintain these gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
