Did an engagement photo session. Locations were great. We decided to do photos in the fall time so we could have all the colorful leaves. Highly recommend getting some photos down at the beach area (Owen Beach) for photos with the mountains in the background. This place has so many amazing different options for photos! Couldn’t ask for a better place!@lynseystraderphotography

This is a wonderful place to visit..and they have more than just roses (although they have tons of those too!)! A good for instance is their Dahlia garden that comes up every summer (thanks to all those wonderful volunteer gardeners!). The flowers at the Point Defiance Rose Garden are definitely worth the trip!

The pictures I took won’t do any justice to the beauty of Rose garden and the plethora of different colored roses they’ve grown. Had such a good time.Someone had their wedding here on the day I went. Simply amazing. There’s benches that you could just sit at and take it all in. The outer surroundings are fields of grass that you can either do picnic, barbecue or just laze around. There’s also little ponds outside, home to a couple of ducks and turtles.

This is a gem in North Tacoma. Its late July and roses in full bloom, plus Dahlias in same garden also, and they are beginning to bloom, so you get twice as much flower satisfaction. Its an awesome experience. My husband, brother and I spent an hour just smelling all the roses to see which smelled the best! Go about 6:30 pm when the sunlight is at an angle that makes them lit up from inside. Gorgeous! Sweet! Best natural high! Also, the bumble bees are snuggling inside the flowers for a sweet slumber. And the drive also lets you see the deer on the grounds outside rose gardens. (They have a big fence around flower gardens, so deer dont get in and eat them all gone!

Beautiful, impeccably maintained, and a perfect spot for photos. Parking can be difficult during peak times. Take time to enjoy the Iris Garden next to the Rose Garden, Japanese Garden and Pagoda, as well as the lovely duck pond in the same area. Restrooms are by the duck pond, which also has turtles. Please dont feed the ducks bread~

Beautiful in the spring and summer when in bloom, they have so many kinds of flowers that no matter when you go youre bound to see something in bloom. Even when flowers arent in bloom the duck pond and Japanese gardens are very relaxing and scenic. Unfortunately there was a bit of litter so maybe a couple more sporadic trash cans would help, but all in all it is a lovely place for a picnic with the family, romantic walk or even a wedding venue.

As well as some of the other trees that have been planted and shrubberies the hemlock the suffering Similac of something to wear the detail around the trees Im blocking and not being trimmed the old-growth Im being cut off. This is the issue with similar trees within the scarf. Around some of the ferns. You have new trees sprouting up thats being neglected. Mid May is the approximate very beginning of the flowering season for roses at point defiance. In another week the roses should largely be blooming. Even though only a few are opened currently you can already enjoy the energy that is building in the garden and will be on full display very soon! Dahlias are typically blooming in late June I think. There are so many varieties of roses and dahlias its hard to comprehend. This is a favorite in town destination for us each year during the summer.
