Beautiful spot in the woods in the middle of town with overlooks and trails. Small with a one lane dirt road leading up.

Great unexpected scenery, we saw at least half a dozen deer. It is important to note that the drive up can be hair raising, but it is worth the trip.

Not much of a park really.. more like a one way gravel road that you drive up that leads to an overlook and bike path. Still beautiful though.

When you go in a 4 wheel drive vehicle, its best

Not much to see and really rough, mostly one lane road, to get there.

Really easy access to some surprisingly good hiking trails if you live at Big Sky Apartments, but there is sadly trash and graffiti in places.

Betsy Bell Wilderness Park is an out of the way little park in Staunton. Key word is wilderness. Drive up is typical for the mountains, narrow, dirt and gravel. Be cognizant of vehicles coming the other way. There are 2 vistas that are simply gorgeous, reminding you of the beauty the valley has. Bike trail available at the top as are trash receptacles. A lovely wooded area that begs to be explored.

This is a beautiful little park with two overlooks. The road up is trail like and you may need to straddle some ruts but our car made it to the top without issue. There are some nice hiking trails and benches. We went geo-caching up on top and found the two were were looking for. If youre looking to get above the noise and enjoy some nature without travelling far I would recommend this park.

A Hidden Gem Nestles in the middle of Staunton where no one can find it. Glad they cant though haha

Searched google for a place to take my dogs. Reviews say the road was bad leading up to the top, but they must have done some recent work because it was smooth gravel for the most part. It is narrow if you meet another visitor. Views are ok, kind of a narrow view window. People seem to “park” up there, their business is none of my concern. It was just kind of weird to see people setting in cars.

The road is as narrow and rough as advertised, and its not wide enough for two-way traffic. If youre not driving an AWD with plenty of ground clearance, park at the lower observation area and walk up the bike trail to the upper observation deck. The view is worth the effort.

Beautiful views but the drive up and back is terrifying!! 1 lane road with a cliff. Not ideal for 2 cars

Road in is very rough, at the end you have to turn around and go back the same way. Looks like a good spot for a picnic.

Ra

Pretty much impossible to reach without an off road vehicle, we had to go in reverse back down the entrance road and could not even get to the park. I have no idea how two cars could pass on that road. Also it was in a super sketchy area. Dont even bother.

If you are looking for a quick hike up a gravel road with two view platforms along the way, then this is the place for you. There were a few benches and picnic table at the top along with some trash cans, but no restroom facilities or childrens playground. Strictly a nature trail type place. But, it is right in town. Parking is limited.

It was ok. Road going up is more for trucks and suvs...would not recommend for small cars. Small park at the top with an observation deck.

Overgrown poison ivy everywhere, poor signage, no map, and desolate. I would consider this the equivalent of hiking through a forest in your backyard.

Do NOT visit unless you have an off road vehicle. There is an extremely narrow, very rough gravel road going all the way up the hill with room for only one vehicle at a time. If you meet another vehicle youre going to be in an extremely bad situation. Not recommended to visit
