Great place for lunch or coffee! The folks who work there are AWESOME! Keeping it clean and spacious. Bring the kids with scooters and skateboard or play ping pong! You may even SEE a famous face. Shopping and food go hand in hand! I promise you will enjoy Westlake Park!
Nice open public space right downtown, often used for large gatherings. Be careful of cars driving thru on Pine street. The Water Wall here is a popular spot on hot days (when its running).
Its a prime location for everything surrounded by shops and restaurants. And also major protesting spot for many activist in the city. I pass by daily to take the bus and is always something to see someone skating, dancing, singing and many thingsIt can pass as the heart of downtown Seattle
Great place to grab some food and people watch
I walk through this place daily on my way to work and I enjoy seeing it get decorated for the holidays. It gets pretty packed with lunch trucks during the work week and the food options are not bad.Early mornings are another story, as this place is heavily occupied with homeless and the less fortunate. It doesnt bother me, but there have been a couple of rowdy encounters Id rather not be part of so early in the mornings.
I really enjoy this park. The fountain is very refreshing and lots of fun to walk thru when its hot out and the music and festivities and rides they often have set up here is amazing to! Plus it is conveniently located in the heart of downtown so it makes it very helpful when you need to rest and take a break from all the shopping and running around. Plus it has an amazing X-MaS tree display and unforgettable carousel ride for the whole family during the holiday season. I love this park! :-)
Very nice place but the people can be kind of weird.
Good atmosphere,and extremely fair prices
We visited here during the Holiday season when they had the carousel up, and my family and myself had such a blast. The kids loved the carousel that they bring in every year. And even when its not the holiday season, we like to stop here to have the kids play at the jungle gym they have. Its a nice place to take a break from all the close shopping they have around.
Went here for a protest. Left once the police started gassing the crowd. I honked at a man as I was getting onto I5. Mr. Man, if youre out there, Im sorry. I dont normally honk, I was just in a bad space.
Homeless people park. Nothing to see here
A good urban park in the middle of downtown Seattle. There are games in the park and nice patio chairs and tables. If you’re waiting to meet someone in downtown Seattle this is a convenient place. Not too large, but still not too small.
Protest for Black Lives. Was peaceful and good.
Good view and interesting people
Neat cement city park with activities like ping pong and corn toss, live summer concerts and dances. Water fountain and kids play area, surrounded by high-end retail shops. Great food trucks for lunch. Lots of homeless and people begging but that is part for the course in Seattle.
A great spot to people watch or to be watched. Close to Sounder station, plenty of shopping choice and eateries. Close to parking garages but leave the car if you can as parking is not cheap and the walk will do you good
I catch the bus here when I get off work. I love how they decorate! Theres usually homeless people wandering around here.. But they mostly keep to there self.. One guy came up to me and I told him I didnt have any money but I have food he can have and he was very nice and grateful.. Even said we should go out for coffee sometime as I was getting on the bus lol
A nice little urban park. Tables and chairs, food sources, table tennis, holiday events. Caution : The tiles are slippery when wet.
City treasure. You see all of Seattles culture in one space. Plus the food trucks are great!
This was a very lively place to eat some dinner we picked up a few blocks over. There are tables you can set up and chairs you can use with them. The water feature was a hit with the kids, as was the playground, though its really just a single small climbing feature and some hemispheres for crawling on.
Like much of downtown, Westlake Park use to be a nice meeting spot or a place to eat your lunch. Now the park is full of homeless people who are pushy and do not understand I do not have an extra dollar. Needles can be found around and/or people high as a kite after just shooting up in front of you. I used to have no fears being in this area, even at 2am I had no safety concerns. Today you couldnt pay me to eat lunch here or be anywhere in the area at night.
Actually, this park features only concrete facilities, no grass, but a nice water feature. However, that is not why people gather there. On weekdays youll find an aromatic world of food-trucks. Westlake is also a staging ground for social-political and environmental marches, activism, speeches, music, and art. So its a great spot for what ever is happening.
Went to the bite of Seattle and had a great time. The fountain was on and I felt safe. They had medical staff and EMTs on standby for the public. There were places for kids and places for adults. My family had a very nice time.
I enjoyed it.. nice place to relax. Especially when you walk a lot in the streets of downtown Seattle and u want to rest for sometime. If you want you can play some games there.
Toys for the kids, a giant chess set and lots of tables and chairs for relaxing and reading. The park has plenty of shade trees and is a great venue for people watching. And bonus - Macys across the street has a restroom on the second floor.
Always a pleasure to spend time @Westlake CTR. Lots of seating, games like 3+4ft chess pieces. I think there are ping pong tables, butnot sure! Lots of entertaining people watching!
There is always something going on here, be it seasonal activities, food trucks, or the playground for the kids. There is a bunch of shopping around the area, both high-end and fun. This is a frequent lunch destination for me; weekdays always see a variety of food trucks parked right on the plaza, or along the street. There is also a permanent hot dog vendor. They often put out games for adults too, such as a giant chess set, or a table tennis table. Musical groups perform on the plaza from time to time as well - today there was a brass band, but sometimes there are singer-songwriters, or other sorts of bands. During December, the plaza is dominated by a carousel. Always something interesting going on here, even if you just want to watch people.
Good public space
Hosting our rally. This was a great space
An odd little parklet. Not a peaceful place. The downtown parks are stressful places to spend time exploring.
Very nice area, certainly worth the time to visit weather a local or tourist.
Cool food trucks, table and chairs, was some live music going on, great waterfall in a bus station... Great to sit near and read a book while having a coffee..
Great food trucks . And now 95% homeless free.
This is a nice open air plaza with seats, tables, food trucks, a water feature (sometimes not running) and playground in the center of Seattles retail core. Of course there are about 5 Starbucks within 1 block too; its a nice place to sit, rest and people watch on sunny days
I like Westlake Park. It was quiet yesterday, not many people. I enjoy sitting by the fountain and watch the people. It was a beautiful day.
I like to walk around Seattle and see all the different shops and I consider this one of my rest stops. Theres a couple chairs and tables to sit and watch the people walk by.
One of my favorite places to be... I love the vibe in Westlake...
Very pretty place to hangout and it is a great walk as well
The park is really nice there something going on everyday..on summer, dance, music and movie nights.. ping pong tournament..etc
Lovely area for the art nouveau lover wanting to read a book or get a bite of some delicious street food. Only downside is at times can have a lot of religious peddlers and homeless people sleeping about or washing in fountain. Extra fun if youre with kids as there is a community play area.
Love this area. Great spot to chill and wait for your next mobile delivery order to come up. (Cyclist couriers)
Only 2 play structures and appropriate for 7 to 12 year olds. Interesting walk through waterfall but only appropriate for older children
Nice place to relax on a weekend, close to many retail stores and restaurants.
If they got rid of the homeless it would be a really nice place!
I love Westlake. There is so much to do! Between the malls, lightrail, and monorail, theres so much to do in a stones throw. If you havent spent time walking around this area, please do so. Its pretty iconic. 3rd Ave can be rough if youre not used to a city, but its a city. All cities are like this. We are just more open about it because we have better resources. If youre new to the area, the lightrail station lived underneath Westlake Center, which is the building with Nordstrom Rack in it. You can even get to the station walking through their store if it is gross outside!
Ive just sit here for a while. Therere lots of seats provided.
They have amazing food trucks sometimes! Watch out for “dreamy drinks “
This is a great park. I played a game of giant connect four with friend.
Always some protest going on
Homeless everywhere. Thank s for all that brave the downtown. It is still great.
It just seems to be concrete, not really any grass. This place is crawling with tweakers and the homeless. But for some reason I found the homeless to be more entertaining than the park amenities themself. One guy had a mop as an instrument and was playing it, another guy had a acrobatic squirrel, some girl was holding a sign that said Donald Trump eats his steaks well done with ketchup, gross! I got a good laugh from that. Wow, I cant believe the homeless people laying around here actually made my trip here more memorable than the destination itself.
Good spot to find a few food trucks around lunch time
Nice to walk around and keep an eye for the Sugar & Spoon ice cream truck. Theyre the best
Good place to spend some time on weekends
Beautiful at Christmas time.
Not a park in the typical sense. Nothing more than a plaza. However, it does have a cool water fountain. Its right across the street from the Westlake Mall. During the Christmas holidays it has a nice Merry-go-round. In the summer there is a huge life size chess set on ground for anyone to play. Probably most notably is that the park is also ground zero for any major demonstration and marches in the city. Its also a hangout for homeless juveniles. In other words, there is always something interesting going on.
Lots of people, the waterfall fountain was cool. Several food trucks at the park and many small tables and chairs to sit.
It,s a great down town spot to rest and watch the fridge of life pass by.
This park has really turned around through the years. It used to be much smaller with little amenities. There is now a large playground area with a zip line, several swings, tennis court, basketball court, skating area, large walking/jogging path, huge green field. There is a beautiful view of the city from this park as well.
Very nice, you can buy food from a vender/food truck enjoy the weather let the kids play and just enjoy yourself.
Great views and fun place to walk along the water. Good food and drinks are abundant.
Homeless and drug users along with drug dealers always over here. The events that are held here are nice. They have a Hot dog place which is a plus while your waiting on a bus if you need a quick bite. Just watch people around you.
Its just mall with branded shops and walking plaza. Mono rail ends here. There is 1 mile distance covered by mono rail from space needle.
Lots has change. Kinda a cool park now. Food trucks looked good but expensive.
Cool park love food trucks
Nice during the day...possible safety issues at night
I like all the free games
Great palace to meet friends or play a quick game of ping pong
Great peaceful place for all diverse people of the world ️
A walkthrough waterfall in a tiled city park. Westlake mall across the street. Plenty of tables and chairs in park. One great hot dog stand called Dog in the Park.
My favorite place. I love to seat and enjoy time
Best place to do figgi pudding!
Chess and ping pong in the big city. Three of my favorite things.
Ping pong in the park is the best way to spend an afternoon downtown from April to October.
Well maintained urban plaza. They even keep a selection of large format games. Nice into the early evening, but neighborhood as a whole gets shadier after commuters head home for the evening. Many big events and protests are hosted here so be aware you may get surprised by a crowd fairly often.
The park is ok during commute hours but gets super sketchy late at night and in the early morning. They have to pressure wash a lot that part of downtown for good reasons. Catch your bus and get out of the area as quick as you can...
Good place for lunch snack or just to relax watch world go by
What can I say. The most memorable event I attended here to date was the Storm championship parade back in the day. Now I am hosting my own MeetUp for local guides in the downtown core. I love Seattle!
It used to be a nice place in the city but now its full of homeless people and groups of suspicious characters. Generally dirty because of the activities of these groups. Not a place I would spend time.
Summertime in Seattle is hard to beat! Food trucks galore, people playing Jenga, chess, etc. Kids playground, shopping, waterfall, and a hot dog place to order a Seattle Dog right next to Sephora. Summertime and the living is easy.
Some of the best people watching out there.
Really cool park in the center of a city got to check it out especially on a hot day water features are amazing
It is a public concrete park and pleasant to sit in on a sunny day. Food trucks and protests are frequent.
