This is my 2nd time going to an Improve show so I have some benchmarks to compare it to. The room is rather small and hot but no seat is a bad seat. The crew that we had an opportunity to see was funny but not every skit worked which is the way that these things work. Some of them should have been cut short instead of dragging on. I enjoyed myself for sure and admire the talent that I saw on stage.

Its cold, wear a coat. My date had to go get our drinks, so he missed some of the comedians(lame). Not enough seats, people were standing, there were reserved tables that no one was sitting at, seat people! The comics were good. The drinks were good.We saw Adam Pasi. He was really funny. I even got to tell him how much I enjoyed his performance. The guy before him, was funny too...but his name escapes me.

I really want to support live comedy so I wish I could find a way to justify at least one more star, but to be honest theres quite a bit of room for improvement. Our comics were okay, not bad but still developing. The door is cash only, the club area downstairs is quite hot due to no ventilation, and the food was decent bar food, not bad. Beer served in a somewhat chilly can.The actual menu on site is quite a bit reduced and different from what is posted on-line, be advised. The staff seemed friendly and sincere about wanting to provide the best experience possible, given what they are working with.

Curtis Cook was amazing, and the MC Paul Curry was also pretty funny! Headliner Louis Katz isn’t quite my sense of humor (his was more self-deprecating vs sharing funny stories about his life)

Uhh wow I really wanted to like this place, the comedy was all great, but it was FREEZING inside. After sitting for 30 minutes I was literally shivering.FWIW I was wearing a long thick fleece jacket, a thick sweater dress, pants, and snow boots with wool socks.I get that its hard to heat a large basement but like put up some curtains at the door and make an effort? Its winter. Heat your venue.

Jo
Review №22

Definitely stay away. The place is pretty gross inside. The bathrooms are the worst. Super smelly and disgusting. A lot of the doors are broken. There is no soap which Im sure is a health code violation. I guess no one washes their hands including the employees giving you your heated up in the microwave burger. The food is horrible. I didnt eat it even though I was hungry. The comics were bad. The headliner was a white guy and all the openers also besides one woman. They all had the same tired jokes. People around were really loud and spilled drinks on us. I want to say it is a one off thing but Ive been there a few times. Just look at the calendar. They only book men as headliners.

I have read so much on these posts about to two purchase minimum. Yes, buy a couple things. Beer, pop, food, whatever. It’s an establishment. You’re not there for the food or drinks. You’re there to laugh. The talent was awesome and great. Small intimate venue. A local bartender told me this was the best place to go, which I almost didn’t because of these reviews. I did eat there, the food wasn’t good. BUT again, you shouldn’t judge a comedy clue on the food. Just eat somewhere else and come to the show! Cheers!!!

First off the comics kept me laughing, which was good because the place was stifling hot. There was not much air flow and easily 85°. I wouldnt remember the temperature was so high but the wait staff was under staffed and I had to get up to get my own ice water mid-set. When I go again Ill wait until its a cooler day. Also, to no fault of their own, the area just outside the club is sketchy. Many homeless are camping just outside the business. Go, because its fun but dont dress flashy. The drinks were tasty too. Im an honest reviewer, Ill go again. Ill just dress down and not go on a hot summer night

Mi
Review №38

It is a neat little comedy club. If you are military and want to risk having to go to the late show tickets at the door are half off. Or you can buy tickets online and guarantee which show. The walk from the ferry is 10 minutes. Great comedians, no clue about the quality of the food but they do have a full dinner menu. Drinks were moderately priced. Definitely worth $20 a ticket. There is vip tickets but I have no idea what that gets you because the worst seat in the house is only 15 feet from the stage.

What a fun club! It really makes the most of the underground vibe. Im reminded of the Comedy Cellar in New York because of the gritty feel and the dim lighting. The acoustics are great, so even a small crowd feels bigger. And the food is a step above usual club fare. Those chicken nachos were among the best Ive had.

We went for open mike night. The club is in a basement it feels a little old and dirty but it kinda added to the charm. There was an obnoxious intoxicated customer making a fool of himself and the management did a great job escorting him out of the club even though they should have done it 30 minutes earlier. All in all I would say give it a go

Filthy bathroom. 1 stall taped shut, 2 toilets clogged and reeking. Automated air freshener empty but 2 bottles of Glade to try and mask it. At least soap and paper towels were stocked. Comedians were okay and they luckily didnt try to push the 2 item minimum order. Only visited the once, but seemed like a once great place limping along to its final night.

Went on a Saturday night. Literally didnt laugh once. $20 per person, cash only.. had to use the ATM which charged $3.75 per transaction. Waited patiently with the light on, but no table service. 45 mins in we were so disappointed, we asked for a refund OR a credit we could use at the bar upstairs.. nope. Wouldnt be writing this review in the middle of the show if I werent bored out of my mind right now. Dont bother -- spend your money elsewhere.

Best way to start a night of partying. Ive been coming here for years and I have never had a dud night. One of the openers may not be great but I can always count on the headliner snd/or featured comic being great. If you are planning a Friday or Saturday night partying near Pioneer Square this should be your first stop. Have a few drinks, laugh, appetizers and a few more laughs at the early show. (~8pm) Then when the show is done you are happy, a little drunk and ready to party.

I even tried the nachos against the bad review above which were good. Also had the bacon quesadilla which was great! I never write reviews but feel this place is getting a bad wrap. The neighbor is tough but it was a reality check to the real world. Great beers to choose from. Comfortable surroundings!
