Having food and deserts at a theater is a brilliant idea. We ordered the brownie ice cream desert with cinnamon chip that tasted just like a churro. This is a must experience at least once if you’re not a fan. The decorations here was super nice as well. Comfortable seats too.

I like coming here to see movies because it’s not crowded and I love the convenience of getting my tickets online and choosing my seats ahead of time. Most of all I love the food there, The coconut chicken is my favorite. I also tried the hummus appetizer, I give that five stars ! The only thing I didn’t like about the theater is the bathroom, the bathroom is always gross and not clean enough.

Weve been maybe 10 times over the years. The food is above average and the prices competitive (comparable to Applebees or Chilis). We really enjoy getting to eat a relaxing meal while watching a good movie and this place provides that experience at a reasonable price. Were looking forward to when they re-open and we can go see movies again!

I like how they give back. Well, what we spend supports the community. I also noticed special showings for those with special needs. Thats really awesome. It is a nice theater with ALL the amenities. I drove 60 miles round-trip to check it out. I was not, disappointed. Ill be back when I have another day off.

Great experience here... went to see Star Wars and it is not the luxurious recliners that they have out now but we wanted to eat dinner so this was our best option. Dinner took about 30 min because they were busy but it arrived hot and the hamburger was very good... even better than most restaurants. Overall great experience, will continue to visit here.

Its a very modern movie theater that has food service. If you picked a sit with a mini table, it includes an food order bottom. Also the sit are comfortable and soft. I liked the service of the staff as they helped me find my sit since it was my first time visiting. It has the option to either purchase your tickets at the cashier/online or at the machine next to the entrace. It has plenty of parking space and is inside a very luxurious shopping center. Overall it was a very good experience. I recommend to come and enjoy all the services of the theater.

Not a fan of the place - food was overpriced and not very good. In addition to the theater being gross, the seats are literally cheap office chairs. Not coming here again, especially after learning about how they hire managers who dont respect people different than them and managements inability to respond to black mold

Alway a nice place to catch a movie and enjoy some snacks ! But not the popcorn , everything else is good though . The staff is friendly and helpful. Great place ! They also have screening for special needs kids and adults. Volume lower than regular and lights kept on for a safe and friendly atmosphere. Just awesome !

We have been regulars here for a while with mixed experiences, but mostly good. The NEW layouts and chairs, etc such an upgrade. Definitely a 5 star location now

So I just visited this movie theater to watch The Rise of Skywalker, and by all accounts the service was good. It was nice to be able to order food and drinks without leaving my chair, not that Im that lazy, not at all. But most people dont want to miss anything from a movie, so the push of a button is nice.

Perfect! Servers are professional, efficient, attentive and friendly. Food is delicious - Popcorn, Chicken Bites, Fish n Chips, Salads, Burgers among others are our favorites. Have had nothing that we didnt love! Comfortable seats - all around wonderful experience - we LOVE SMG!!!

Disappointed! Was looking forward to this but it didnt stand up to what it appeared to be. Movie and food was good but the seats were terrible. Not only were they uncomfortable office-type chairs, but the intense moldy smell was unbearable and took away from the food. We were quite disgusted! Please clean your carpets, especially if youre selling food. Wont be returning. Id much rather be in a clean theater with comfortable seats.

Theater 4 needs an update of some sort... the rows werent leveled properly and unfortunately, I had someone tall sit in front of me... thus, having partial of the screen blocked. You gotta find closer seats to be able to see the screen without any risks... I also never really seen a theater with a long desk with office chairs as a “row”, which is really odd in my opinion. Staff were kind though!!

Food and Service have always been good. Now they have recliners, no more office chairs. Closed for the virus but planning on going as soon as it passes.

The price of the tickets werent bad, however everything after that was less than. The waiters got my wifes drink mixed up with the wrong one no big deal..... They said they would grab the right one. Somehow lines got crossed and they said we cancelled are order of food..?? Why would be do that. No big deal put our order in again. Finally after an hour of being inside the theater we received our food So we finish up watching the joker and eating out Bar style food.. About twenty minutes before the show was over they bring us the bill to get a signature, the theater is dark you cant really see where to sign but the lady stands in front of us and is like I need you to sign.. so I scribble my name so I can get back to watching the movie. Fast forward and the movie is over as we are getting our stuff together I see a copy of the bill for the food she got the buffalo sliders I got the Thai chilli bites and she got one drink she ordered and one by mistake..... $104.... At this point I didnt argue I was beyond frustrated at the whole event. They will never get my business again.

Server, Bree, was very nice. Food was good (although my quesadilla came with such a small amount of salsa and sour cream, even a request of a second helping was not enough). Re seating - I was thankful no one sat at the counter seats in front of us, as it certainly would have obstructed our view ... also no reclining feature, however comfortable enough, especially for dining. Lastly, albeit my $12 blue margarita was icy and sweet, I could not detect any tequila in it whatsoever. I realize different establishments have different liquor guidelines, but it’s not often that the unique flavor of tequila goes undetected. We did enjoy the movie! ps - tip: Fandango gift cards only work online ... the ticket sales gal could not get it to work, so we had to duck outside and order tickets on our phone - and pay the $3+ convenience fee.

Best movie theater I been to, has a waiter service with a menu to pick from. Great prices for tickets, however they make money for the food. I got a kids mac and cheese, it was above average, small, but priced for 10 dollars. It came with a drink as well.

Very modern, spacious nice and clean movie theater. The bathroom was very clean. I went to a 4:00 movie on Thursday, it was my kids spring break and it had been raining all week so there wasnt anything else to do. The theater was not crowded, there was nobody sitting right next to us, in front of us or behind us. Our seats were comfortable, and reclined perfectly. They were button controlled reclining seats in theater 3, very similar to the ones at AMC but not quite as big and cushy but still very comfortable. The only spots I saw the office type chairs mentioned in other reviews were in the areas that I think are considered counter seating or handicap area seating so you could move the seats out of the way. The food tray is big enough for your plate, there are two cup holders per person, with one that has the option of keeping your drink warm or cold. I had bought my tickets on Groupon and had no trouble redeeming on SMG website. The only reason Im not giving this five stars is I felt the food could have been better, and the food prices were a bit too high. However Ive come to expect that all movie theater food is overpriced. I wasnt that impressed with the gourmet popcorn, fairly bland. My kids pepperoni pizzas tasted almost like microwave pizzas, and my salad was nothing to brag about. They didnt bring napkins with the kids meals. Although I was the second person to place an order in the theater because I arrived early, I was the last person to get my popcorn and I didnt get it until I pushed the red call button and asked them where it was, this was a good 10 minutes after everyone else in the theater had gotten their popcorn. I will definitely come back here to see movies, the ticket prices are great for matinee. However next time Ill probably just stick with ordering a drink and maybe only an appetizer or dessert.

We loved this place when it first opened. My family used to go to this theater for any of the big movies since we knew we could get a great meal and assigned seating was a huge benefit. As of the last visit the food has gone downhill and unfortunately the service has too. The popcorn was stale and had very little butter and the pizza crust was very bland. The servers used to whisper during the movie and try to stay out of the way, this visit the servers were actually talking full volume and walked very slowly around the theater. After leaving my light on for a good 5 minutes, I like other people walked out front to get boxes for our food. Hopefully this was just an off day for them but we will probably try another place like this before we give them another chance.

Solid movie theater, been coming here for years. Love the reclining seats, order online with the fee, its totally worth not having to worry about seats when you get there.

Very enjoyable experience. Each seat has buttons and you can press for service anytime. This was a new experience for my guest and I. They have a great 2 for 29 deal where you get an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert. The service was great and the wait staff was very helpful, courteous, and genuine. Plus, you cant beat the 5 dollar ticket price!!

Worst experience ever., I feel sorry for the kids that work there.

The food was wonderful and the staff was friendly, but the reason why I went there that day was because on Groupon there was a promotion and I purchased two tickets to see a movie. When I got there to pull up my voucher they informed me that they do not accept it and that I would need to go on their website in order to use them. it sucks that they changed the policy because at one point I was able to walk up and show my voucher through my phone screen and they would scan it and accept it. I wish they hadnt have changed it. I ended up purchasing to new tickets at the $19 instead of the $6 that I had used on Groupon bc it was the most convenient way to purchase a ticket and there were people behind us and only one person at the register

Save yourself the illusion of comfort at this venue and go down the 101 to the Roadhouse Grill. This place would only seem comfortable if you load up on alcohol from the bar.My wife and I tried SMG for the first time and were thoroughly disappointed. Their website shows photos of reclining chairs with leg rests and stadium seating. This is a lie. Instead you have a chair that reclines a little less than an airplane chair. Furthermore - if you dont sit at a counter you have the heads of the folks in front of you. Also - the waitress in our theater talked at full volume while taking orders during the movie from others! You could at least try to whisper...

The food is still good. The movie begins on time. However the chairs/ trays needs to be updated. Theyre cracking and not always as clean as it should be. The service is standard. The movie and sound are good. Ample parking with pricing in par with other theatres.

Be careful reserving seating. They have literal office chairs in some seats.Also - wrinkle in theater 2 screen.Very poor quality seats and table despite cool entrance

We come here often.. But you guys need to upgrade seats . Worn cushion . Office chairs . Everyone else is kickin your butt with recliners . Sink the money. Keep the customers happy .

The food was good but took awhile to get. The seating isnt explained very well. And we didnt get a menu when we got our tickets.

I never had a SMG close to where I grew up, but when visiting family I took the kiddos out twice to see Avengers and Ugly Dolls. I was impressed with the service and overall concept of the place. The food was average but still good and filling. The facility was clean and pleasant. I definitely recommend for a little date night or fun time out with family/babysitting.

Fun place to watch movies and lunch too. Gave 3 stars, because my hamburger wasnt taste, was blend. My son liked the fire bread and we like their milkshake. Price was average for food place and cheap for movie theater

The fact that this movie theatre has 4 stars, boggles my mind. The lobby was spectacular, looked very nice. Then you get in the theatre, and notice the screen is about 4 times bigger than my tv at home. When we get to our seats, we were disgusted at how filthy it was. The cup holders look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. There was popcorn in between the cracks of the seats and like grease stains on the chairs. Well, we sit down to order food, and can hear the movie playing in the next door! Also, half of the “seats” are actually office chairs. Legit office chairs that swivel and raise up and down. Won’t be back, save your time and go to Harkins.

I have been to this theater a couple of times and, while I like it, I wont go out of my way to select it over another theater.The food service and reserved seating are great additions to any theater. However the way SMG implements it can be distracting.Staff should be trained to do a better job of keeping their voices low during the film or take a page from other theaters and have people write their requests down on a slip of paper to minimize the amount of noise happening.Bar seating with desk chairs is a great option but many of the chairs are showing their age. For something that can easily be replaced individually at the nearest Staples, this shouldnt really be an issue.Also, the staff could do a better job of cleaning between each showing. I know there needs to be a quick turnaround but it doesnt take very long to run a wet cloth along the length of the bar and spot-check chairs for debris (popcorn kernels, etc) before the next showing.Food is a little pricey based on quality but not far outside the average for the area.Overall, none of these things would keep me from coming back to this theater, but it also wouldnt be my first recommendation for this type in the area.

This places thing is to try and be up-scale or high-brow, and have red buttons to push when you want service. Thats all fine, and so is the service (the people are great), but the chairs seem cheap (they squeak or are just leather swivel chairs) and arent super comfortable

This is a fabulous idea and I did enjoy going to dinner and a movie. Things were pretty much as expected. Not too crowded the service was good. I do have to say though that the food wasnt all that great it was a little bit like bar food and very expensive. However it is part of the experience and I understand their operation doesnt run for free so overall I would have to see I had a good experience. If youve never been to dinner and a movie you have to try it at least once.

Loved going to this place but had diminished greatly in quality and service. Was there this past weekend 6/16/19. Ordered an appetizer and it took 15 min. Ordered meals for my 2 kids and myself. Took over 20 minutes and only was given one order. We waited another 10 minutes hoping the others would come but nothing. Had to ask. Waited another 10 minutes for it to come. Had three orders of chicken tenders. All tenders were less than 2 inches long and all over cooked. 2 orders did not come with the correct sauce and then was charged for extra sauce. Not at all what I would expect from a place like this.

Update: Studio Movie Grill NAILED it! I hosted my sons 7th birthday there and it was a HUGE hit. I purchased all my tickets 5 days ago. I purchased 2 rows (23 seats). Our guests were my 23 plus 8-10 parents. We made up most of the 12:30pm showing of Angry Birds 2. The movie was hysterical. The service was excellent. And Mike made sure we had a fantastic time. Thank you to the entire staff for keeping us happy and well fed. Great value for a kids birthday party. Parents and kids had a wonderful time and left with full tummies. Much thanks to Studio Movie Grill and the employees who made the experience effortless for our family to have a great time.Ticket prices are great but food and beverages are very expensive. Family of 4 (1 kids meal, 3 adult meals, waters for all and 1 beer for Dad) and our $70 with tip. $37 in movie tickets (matinee pricing) so that is more than $100 for a family evening. We love it there but... cant go too often. Great service!!!;

Where do I start. Between the loud kid that could not be managed by his father. To the two young adults who work there at the front who thought it was more important to talk to each other and chat it up then it was to help customers as they came in. Im sorry to them for interrupting their conversation... To there uncomfortable seats and over priced and over rated food. The only bright spot was the sun shining through the doors as I left the establishment. Also the manager was very nice as she refunded us.

Womens bathroom near the theaters was nasty, they ran out of several items, food was bland or just nasty. I had to send my mudslide shake back because it wasnt mixed (ice cream was scooped in and that was it). This was only my 2nd time there and the 1st was yes ago. Ill try again another time and hopefully it will be better.

Horrible food, and over priced!! Service was fine, theatre was fine, but the good was old, dry, and just plain awful. There are much better places to eat and see a movie. Dont waste your money in this place.

Great place to go for movies, food, service. Seating layout is comfortable for watching movies though it can get crowded. For preferred seating We use the reserve and buy tickets service online. The food staff assistants will take orders by request only by pressing button on the tables. Food service is usually convenient and on time.

Everytime something goes wrong here. We have experienced malfunctioning projectors (20+ minutes) and backed-up sewers (what a stench). Now it was food service without a bill! After waiting until the theater emptied and no bill received, we went to find the manager. He was banging away angrily on the POS terminal. I waited patiently for 5+ minutes until he brusquely walked away! I reached out to get his attention. Upon doing so, he threatened me with assault. I told him I only wanted to settle my food bill. He said he didnt care and would be calling the police. I said go ahead. Im over 65 and somewhat handicapped (bad knee). I was certain the police had better things to do than to stop my crime spree. Confronted with this, I was told to leave. I did so. This is my last visit. View movies here at your peril.

We wont be going back to normal theaters any more! Great ticket price, especially Tuesday, great chairs and menu! Kids and adults have a blast eating and watching the movie; it is like having your own screening room with a butler and and a full kitchen! Have some food, a drink and get comfy while watching your movie.

The main draw here is supposed to be that you can eat while you watch your movie. The menu is really lackluster. The service is really good and it is convenient not to have to get up from your seat, but the culinary options could do with a bit of imaginative expansion.

This movie theater is our favorite Pastime. We enjoy the friendly staff and we like to be able To order dinner, have a cup of coffee or have a drink while watching a movie.

We have been going to SMG for several years. Like that you can pick your seats online ahead of time. Food is consistently good however service is inconsistent.

Studio Movie Grill provided a sub par movie experience. Waiter service was excellent. Very polite and attentive. The food came out quicklyAs for the actually movie experience- the quality of the screen/movie was terrible. Lines could be seen at the bottom of the screen and the seating was absolutely and extremely uncomfortable. As you can see by the picture it appears that studio movie grill has a contract with Office Max. Their computer chairs were the most uncomfortable in comparison to REAL movie theater seats. Instead of Studio Movie Grill they should name it Bootleg Movie House.

For starters the seating on the website is misleading as there are no reclining seats. The tray tables were filthy, food was mediocre at best and the service was terrible( had to ask for soda refills 3 times before actually getting them). We will not be going back

The food is gross. They say it’s fresh and delicious before every movie but it’s a lie. They managed to make pizza taste gross. PIZZA. Even my 6 year old that has never complained about pizza quality before said she didn’t want it after two bites.So yeah food is terrible.The theater part of it is okay because the theaters are usually empty. The seats are sorta comfy but do not recline.Whoever owns this chain needs to improve the food or the seats, you can’t be bad at both.

The place is very, very nice in terms of decor and the way the staff makes you feel comfortable and welcome. I do think they need some upgrades to the theater seating (and definitely some nicer toilet paper) BUT, it was overall an awesome experience. The main server that greeted us/took our order was Bri. It’s her second week employed there and she ROCKED! She is, hands down, the #1 reason I’m doing this review as she made the experience memorable!

This was my first time going to the studio movie Grill The movie was fantastic I saw Star wars rise of Skywalker cried through the whole thing it was fantastic The food was good I had the Southwest quesadilla without the Southwest portion I dont like spicy foods The only thing I didnt like which is why Im only giving it four stars is they did not have reclining seats and I had read that they had just done a remodel and they put in the stadium seating but Im surprised they didnt put in the reclining seats that would have been nice to have other than that everybody was terrific and I had a great time well visit again

This place is pretty good! It wasnt crowded at the time we went, i.e., 3:30 PM Saturday. But then a bunch of kids just ran into the lobby so scratch that. Service and food were good. I like the idea of the service button at your seat to order drinks and food. The bar has very good drinks and a decent wine selection. Well be coming back! **Bonus: they were passing out stuffed potato skins & coconut chicken tender samples in the lobby. Just sayin.

The movie and staff were nice. The theater was filthy popcorn, food and wrappers in seat/floors, cup holders looked as if they hadnt been cleaned since the place opened. The food was not good (especially for what they charge) I immediately had an upset stomach. So I had to use the restroom which was also dirty, toilets clogged, no toilet paper, out of seat covers, etc. Id rather eat at applebees for half the cost, better tasting food and no upset stomach. I will not be returning, Ill stick to my AMC dine-in and I-Pic.

The movie was great, but that is all subjective, the main problem is that the theater felt like it was barely being held together. I do not mean physically, but if they will still be in business in the future. Just a lot of things felt like they were trying to cut corners and spend as little money to get things going.Half of the call buttons on the row I was sitting were missing (and not just every other, like sometimes it would be 3 in a row missing, then 5 with, then another 2 missing) so I guess I was lucky to have one.Next, the food was very lacking. Our pretzel bites appetizer seemed like they were just heated up in a microwave, our queso had a very noticable skin across the top when served. My chicken strips tasted like they had been prepared once, then cooled, then put back into the frier before being served to me which made the chicken completely dry and had a burnt taste. My wife says her southwestern salad was fine, though she says the lettuce tasted like it may not have been very fresh, but could not determine as the movie had begun when we were served so she could not see for sure.All in all, I do not think I will be back unless they are the only theater showing a movie I want to see, which was the case for tonight. And if I do go back, I will make sure I eat beforehand, which kind of kills the point of going to a theater like this, and maybe just get a soda.

We were enjoying a bottle of vino, and got into the Movie...before we knew it, the movie was 75% over and the totally forgot to bring our meals.Not the experience we were seeking. Its not that difficult! Now out seeking lunch after the movie.

Ticket prices are good but youll pay it back on the food. That being said the food is good and the experience is fun. For about the price of dinner and a movie separately you get dinner at the movie. The menu is varied enough to offer options and they usually have custom drinks based on Blockbuster movies which are good.

It was really mediocre and the seats don’t recline. The food was okay. And they double charged my account too so at this point I really am not a fan. They have office chairs in the theater. It’s just ... mediocre! If you want a really good place I would always suggest Roadhouse Theater over this place hands down!

I dont get out much.for diner n movie, bar had a sewer issue horrible smell, finally got to my seat took 4 minutes before showtime (mind you this a 530 movie ) only a few people, looking forward to a great (GRILLED) burger when the attendant said the grill was out, not working, settled for fried food .Asked for the manager, the manager said sorry but too bad basically, my fried fish came and fries cold! The margaritas that my sidekick got had no salt as requested si instead of remaking the drink was handed a salt shaker! Poor service poor food, bad drink and worst of all MANAGEMENT made no attempt to rectify so I left $50 for a bad dinner n movie

Usually I have a nice time here but I went with my Husband and 2 boys and was over looked by the server on several occasions. This visit I was not pleased with the service.

Little bit better than your typical movie theater they serve beer and things like that there. I have only been here for company events, never been to an actual movie at the theater.. I feel like Id be able to give the place a better rating if I came to watch a movie

Looking at the location and name of this place, you may expect it to be very high quality and very expensive. Then youd only be half right, as it was all surprisingly cheap, considering how theaters normally price things. One of the best movie experiences I have ever had, with absolutely fantastic food -- the tempura fish and chips was fantastic, with some of the best restaurant-style fries I have had, and this is a theater! Go there, take a date if you can, and enjoy yourselves.

The food was very disappointing. The chicken sliders came out cold, like it had been in the refrigerator cold. The cheese burger sliders, the beef was hockey puck hard and cold. My husband said his burger was decent. The movie was terrible and the staff was gracious enough to refund our tickets. Iv enjoyed this place in the past, but not today.

We will never go here again!! The chairs were old office desk chairs. They looked & felt like the theater went to goodwill or garage sales to furnish. I had a great time and found the servers wonderful! I only have 4 stars due to the seats. Some people get office chairs to sit in to watch their movie while others get a bit better seats that dont recline at all. Other than the seats, this place is great. Highly recommended the spiked shakes.

One of our favorite places! The counter seating is perfect to dine at, good selection of food and great drinks. The office type chairs are comfortable and not cloth, which seems cleaner to me. Their brownie dessert is delicious! They always have Groupon specials which makes it a fairly inexpensive night out. Love the fact that you can have a nice meal and drinks while you are watching a movie!

Do not let the North Scottsdale location fool you. This theater does not live up to its monied location. The seats are terrible, the design is cheap and unfinished, and the screens poorly display the movie youve been excited to see. If youre looking for a budget friendly, ghetto theater? This is the place to go.
