I didnt go to the golf course, I just walked around the entrance and is beautiful up there. There is a nice view of the city, the breeze was great to escape the heat and enjoy a nice walk with a friend, partner, doggies, etc.

Great short course for a great price! You can leave the long distance drivers at home, but there are plenty of chances for fun play outside of that, Definitely a beginners course and has a fun range.

We have been invited to the place by one of our past client and a good friend during our recent visit to the US, and we really enjoyed our time there. Situated on the hill in San Jose this place has something very soothing. Away from all the noise, traffic, hassle of the city you can enjoy good food, play golf or just stay, walk or enjoy the surroundings. The views are mesmerizing, so quiet and green all around. Worth a visit.

Im so glad we held our 230+ guests graduation event at the Ranch Golf Club. Special thanks to Ruben, Amelia and Agnes, who without their hard work and assistance, this event would not have happened. We turned to the Golf Ranch Club after our initial venue cancelled on us. We had just a week and a half to find a new venue. When I reached out to Ruben, it just so happened that our date was available. Ruben was very accommodating and the entire staff worked hard to meet all of our requests. I was so incredibly pleased with the decor and service on the actual day of the event. My guests are still telling me what a fantastic venue it was and how much they enjoyed the food and the views. Special thanks to Andrew for his help with the speaker system.

What an amazing track. Do not walk it. Must ride in a cart. There are some hikes in between holes. The course was in great shape. A high level handicap will have a lot of trouble. Bring a box of balls.

This course is not for the faint or heart, (or a bad slice). Challenging tee shots, narrow elevated fairways and lots of hazards make this for a day of dropped shots and lost balls. But, its still beautiful and usually not crowded.

Really liked this course. It is not a “pull out the driver and tee off” golf course. Placement and shot selection is important on this course. It may be my new local favorite as soon as the greens are back in shape.

The course itself is beautiful. Green is very fast and challenging but fair. The course is not beginners friendly but as long as you have a decent command of the game you will have fun. I played around 15hdcp and shot 24 but enjoyed the course very much. Lost 3 balls to OB but it is kinda expected. Unless you are a single hdcp, bring plenty of balls. Some fairway bunkers were to be considered as waste areas more than proper bunkers, this explains the bad reviews of a course in poor condition (it is not). Fairway is green, rough is properly cut, green is true and fast... what else do you expect?I had to take 2 stars off, 1 because my experience was terrible due to a strange putter from the rental set. The putter is definitely not true. It wont aligned properly and on short putts it will drive you nutts. On such a hard course getting gir close to the holes should be rewarded but I had 4 short birdie putts turned to bogeys because of the failed putter. The other 5-6 birdie putts were far from the hole so I blamed those on my putting skills. Another star off because the cost of rental clubs were $45, quite pricey yet they didnt have stiff shafts for me eventhough I emailed the course in advance when I booked online. The set didnt have proper wedges, the clubs were really old... for comparison I paid $35 for rental clubs and got titleist 917 driver andAP2 irons (all Stiff too) with vokey wedges at another course of similar quality. No refund on club rentals eventhough the man behind the counter tested the putter after I returned them and concured with my complaint. The golf carts do not have GPS so make sure you play with a local golfer or bring your range finder. To recap. Beautiful course. Great quality golf can be had with amazing views. Challenging undulating fairways with undulating and tiered fast greens. Would not recommend for complete beginners. If youre a visitors to SJ without your equipments please look elsewhere.

If I could I would give them negative stars.... this place gets worse and worse...This venue is gorgeous, no doubt, but the company that runs this venue is an absolute nightmare. I went through 3 coordinators in 7 months and all the rules changed each time, the information I had previously provided each time had magically disappeared, we were not offered any discount or apologies for any of the countless hours and time we had to put into tracking down someone to talk to and help us each time. If you use this venue, you absolutely MUST have a coordinator that you hire separately. Their staff is incompetent, unprofessional and unreliable. They did NOTHING for us, NOTHING!The coordinator we ended up with Carlos -- what an absolute joke! He has no business being an event coordinator of any kind let alone working with customers in general. Thinking back I cannot think of one thing this guy did right for us or even did at all. He hid away during the rehearsal, setup and wedding! Seriously, this guy needs to go!I planned EVERYTHING on my own with no help from the coordinator they promise you and include in the price. My family and bridal party set EVERYTHING up ourselves at the rehearsal because they were not prepared and did not set up the venue like we had asked. We were breaking down tables and setting up tables and linens so we could set our tables up the way we wanted which made us late to our rehearsal dinner. They charge you just about the same as other venues in the area but do not even come close to providing any services worth the cost. You pay for good food, half-ass service, drinks and the location... everything else is a gamble so take that into account when looking at cost. The 7 months of time I spent planning after loosing our first coordinator was beyond stressful, every time they changed coordinators no one told you, no one got in contact with you and when you called to confirm things, no one called you back for weeks! At one point about 5 months in I couldnt take it anymore and my husband had to take over dealing with this place because I didnt even want to continue. It was such a mess!My wedding planning experience was dreadful because of this place. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, ever!

Prepare yourself for Fantastic view up top! Food is pretty good, too. I ordered the dungeoness crab salad and thought it tasted more like tuna salad. I didnt say anything because Ive been having troubles, what with allergies and the smoke from the wildfires. To the waitress credit, she asked if I had received the tuna salad and offered to give me the dungeoness crab salad free-of-charge, which I accepted.

Best kept secret in San Jose! Beautiful golf course. Great views and awesome tee shots! I played the muni (big mistake!) and I will never play there again with this course 10 minutes further. The price is not bad ($80) for such a great course. Very well maintained and the people that work there are wonderful! I cant wait to play this course again!

The course is insanely tough for amateurs, my friends lost a minimum of one ball per hole haha. The course was very beautiful but its strange how the course is well manicured but the bunkers have weeds growing in every one. If they took care of the bunkers it would make this course one of the nicest around.

Review №23

For the price ($80) I expected the course to be in better shape. The 4th hole is beautiful until you get front of the green. You hit a good drive, next shot is over a valley and your 3rd is off dirt. The 15th, good luck finding grass on the black tee box. Our cart died on the way to the 12th hole. It’s probably a quarter mile to the 13th tee and we drive past 2 other carts that were sitting on the cart dead and they do not have enough help to gather the dead carts. The pro shop attendant brought us a new cart, I think he said he had to close the pro shop so kudos to that guy for his customer service. It’s a good chance we won’t be back.

The challenge of this course and the movement of the greens and the fairways along with the length of this course makes this a great course. Its fun to hit over the gorges and water. Theyve let it go a little bit since they had the problems last year, there is a lot of land to keep up.

Follow the advice of the previous reviewer: DO NOT BOOK THE RANCH until they get a real event coordinator or a new General Manager. KRISTY was a nightmare to work with. She lacks the people skills necessary to interact with clients on a regular basis. My adventure with this place begins like this:I meet with Event Coordinator Chrissy to help my mom arrange a location for my wife’s baby shower. The discussion went well and we were very excited to use that facility. Since we knew that guest would number between 40-50. Chissy told us that if we over estimated and some didn’t show, she would help alleviate the cost by adding complimentary wine to help offset the overpayment. This was awesome!2nd Two weeks before the event…After several unsuccessful attempts to reach the usually responsive Chrissy, I get a voicemail stating Chrissy has quit and that John will be handling the event from that point forward. I was very nervous; because it was obvious that John had not reviewed the file, so I scheduled a meeting with him to review everything that we had worked out with Chrissy. John had also told us, that the exact number of guests could be counted the day of for fair pricing. After the meeting I was once again comforted, and thought it would be in good hands with John.3rd My mother gets a call from KRISTY the GM, stating that she was now handling the event coordination. In fact, when she called she asked for my wife. (Why would my wife throw herself a shower?) It was at this point that KRISTY told my mom that many of the things that were promised to us were not something they normally do. (Flowers on the table, Buntinis delivered, early access for set-up, wine to offset guest that we had overpaid for) KRISTY acted as if she was doing us a favor, by carrying out the items that the former coordinator had promised us IN WRITING. KRISTY insisted we pay in advance, even though Chrissy had told us to pay the day of. When my mom discussed small touches like flowers on the table, and delivery of the desserts, and the complimentary wine to offset overpayment, KRISTY basically called my mom a liar and stated, “We would have never promised to do that”!It was at this point that I decided to work with KRISTY rather than have her insult my mother. She promised that a DVD player would be available the day of the event for the slideshow presentation. (This didn’t happen) One of my wife’s guests drove home to get one. (During the party) Emails to KRISTY regarding this have subsequently gone unreturned. In my discussions with KRISTY I was upfront in telling her that many of the expectations that her staff had set were not being met. KRISTY argued and that many of the things we claimed were promised were essentially lies. KRISTY offered to call Chrissy (the previous event coordinator). I knew this was an idle threat, but I thought it might solve some of the disputes, so I called her bluff. I agreed completely and offered to host a conference call to which she decided that since it was a weekend she would send her and email instead. (BIG FAT LIE)As for the event, it went well. The food was good. The staff, especially Raymond, was excellent. That’s why they are deserving of One Star.
