SCVC Club is one of the jewels of San Jose. A beautiful 18-holes course is nestled in natures lap. Surrounded by hills, and with its well designed course, it is a golfers delight. The club facilities are well managed and maintained by a professional staff. The gated community has beautiful houses, and some of the Silicon Valleys whos-who reside here.

Took 45 minutes for very simple order for breakfast with a party of 6. Wifes custom omelette was wrong and food was very average.

Nice clubhouse and restaurant let down by probably the worst designed course in the bay area and an abysmal downhill range.

You need a pass to get in because the security at the gate wont let you in and you better take a couple hundred dollar bills because its sort of high-end

Lived here on and off for 15 yrs. Nice amenities, HOA can be oppressive with parking- cant park in own driveway. You need approval for any change to house or yard.

Was here for a wedding reception. Bar/Lounge area was a bit cramped/small. Area for actual reception was large and beautiful, too bad it was raining that day. Food was average out of all of the wedding receptions Ive been too.

The interior is pleasant, the menu is updated often and the chef is mindful of healthy eating. The staff is attentive and friendly.

Be VERY careful about signing up for a membership here. Make sure you understand what youre getting yourself into. If you ever want to leave, you are STUCK paying monthly dues and assessments until someone else finally buys your membership. They dont care if you lost your job, got divorced, moved away, whatever.And how motivated can they really be to sell your membership? As long as they dont, they get to continue receiving your money with no corresponding wear and tear and service usage of the facilities. Its a complete conflict of interest.A friend of mine has been on the sellers waiting list since moving away in *2011*. When she joined initially, they totally downplayed and minimized this risk, implying that selling your membership if necessary would be quick and easy, no real concern. As it turns out, SCVCC doesnt care that my friend cant use the club anymore, they just want the money.Theres another negative review on Yelp with someone else who had the same issue, not being able to sell their membership for three years.Apparently SCVCC has received so many complaints about this practice, that they finally added a walk away clause to their by-laws, but it still requires that you give up your equity (the $3,000 or whatever you paid for your membership), as well as 12 months written notice, during which time you must continue to pay your monthly dues, regardless of how long youve been on the sellers waiting list.March 2015 is when the first sellers can finally walk away under this new rule, and SCVCC decided that January 2015 was the perfect time for a special assessment of over $3,500 to improve their facilities. So anyone who walks away loses their equity, all the dues that have gone down the drain since they needed to leave the club for whatever reason, AND this special assessment on top of everything else.The SCVCC Director of Membership & Marketing replied to the review I posted on their fb page. She apologized and offered to discuss the situation in greater detail.It sounded very nice, and I tried to contact her, but other than offering to schedule a meeting with me to help me understand how membership(s) at a Country Club work, she has refused to address the situation with me or respond further in any way.My friend gave SCVCC permission to discuss her situation with me, but apparently SCVCC doesnt want their members to have any help with situations like these, other than from a lawyer.My friend has asked the director of membership repeatedly for a copy of her original contract, and now SCVCC is just stonewalling and refusing to give it to her or even respond with some explanation as to why they wont.Congratulations, SCVCC board of directors: profits are up!This racquet club is a total racket.
