Step into the past of San Francisco and California. See what Sutro saw when he chose the property. He might have been a ruthless developer, but now we can enjoy the spirit of the place. Great place to bring out of towers. Wear your masks!

Great view, of the coast line, from multiple locations, bring binoculars! Quite the nice, peaceful, well maintained, nature escape. Theres always somewhere to sit, plenty of green grassy areas to picnic on and plenty of San Francisco history, or remnants thereof, to learn about and discuss. The #38 buss, will take you right there, or theres street parking too.

This is one of my favorite places to visit especially when I need to get out of Downtown San Francisco and just relax and clear my thoughts. Very beautiful...almost magical!

It turns out that I picked a good day to head out that way. I wanted to get away from the heat in the east bay, and as it turned out, the immediate coast was the only place where there was no smoke from the various wildfires in the state. I was just here about 5 days before for this same reason. Interesting thing was, that at one point in the afternoon, the temperature was in the mid 60s, while seemingly everywhere else in the bay area was pushing into the 80s and 90s. A brief and pleasant getaway.

Sometimes the fog hangs out here in the morning and u used to be able to get a bite to eat after a hike down to lands end. Now I think the restaurant went the way of the dinosaur but still a beautiful area. Plus ocean beach is right there when your feet start getting tired!

Such a cute park with stunning views of Ocean Beach, the Outer Sunset, and the vast Pacific Ocean. The castle structure is so unique and would definitely be a hit with any kid you bring along to this park. Not to far from Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, Sutro Baths, and the Cliff House.

My favorite place to hike in San Francisco!!!My hike begins by parking at the Ocean Beach area between the two windmills (Dutch & Murphy) you see across the street in Golden Gate Park. I make my way across the Great Highway and then head north on the sidewalk/trail. I cross Fulton street and continue north. When I get to Balboa, I cross the street then head East on Balboa. As soon as you pass La Playa, the hike trail begins to your left with wooden steps. I take the trails through Sutro Heights to get to 48th and Point Lobos Ave, cross Point Lobos Ave and continue on Lands end trail across the street.Depending on how fit you are, you can continue until you see Baker Beach. If you do this hike, you walked approximately 2.3 miles. If you dont catch an Uber back, lol, youll have walked a total of 4.6 miles. At a basic stroll, you should be able to get done in under two hours. You can also stop and return sooner. If I only have an hour, I walk out for 30 minutes then come back. Youll figure it out.Through out this hike, there are many spots to take pictures, enjoy!!

Really beautiful lookout spot over Ocean Beach. Awesome sunset spot as well. Right now the grass looks pretty overgrown and yellow but that may be because of the shelter in place changes made to city maintenance programs. Great for an evening stroll to stretch your legs. Car break-ins are frequent in the night time hours here so be careful.

This place is a hidden gem and my favorite part of the city. I’ve had so many clients tell me that they have lived in SF for long, but had never been there. Now that you know about Sutro Heights Park, let me tell you why it’s my No. 1 location for a family photo shoot for K. Sienk Photography. This park is beautiful throughout every month of the year. It changes with the season, but each one has something special about it. The view of Ocean Beach is incredible from Sutro Heights Park. And one of the most amazing things about this location is that it is almost never windy! That is so important when it comes to photos.Pros:No windNot crowdedBeautiful all year roundA variety of different locations in one parkGreat view of the oceanEasy Parking

This place is very strange and one of those San Francisco gems that you just have to check out. I have lived here now for years and I still come back here. Its such a strange story of Sutro and his baths and what this place was that you have to take someone from out of town and explain it. Its also fun for kids because the ruins seem more ancient and mysterious than they actually are. My kids thought that this was a Roman camp, which is pretty funny if you think about it.

Loved walking by the ocean. You can walk on the beach or on a walk way if you dont want to get sand on your feet. LOL The restrooms were port-a-potties but they were the flush toilets and very clean.
