Ate lunch on patio overlooking lake first time out in months blue sky day great weather all golfers had masks for dining patio and tables far apart.

Nice area for walking exercise, the loop is 4,5 miles. It has a beautiful scenery and the area is safe.

Awesome park. Ive been coming here for years and I always feel better getting out in nature. Go for a walk, meditate or kayak around the lake. Be present, be mindful and enjoy life.

Lake Merced is a lovely fresh water lake on the southwestern side of San Francisco. It is near San Francisco State. Activities include boating, cycling around the lake, and running/walking the 4.5 mile loop. This is a scenic area and is a great place to exercise and clear your mind. Also, there are several golf courses nearby.

Since my childhood, a place that was both peaceful and beautiful in the same breath. Such a tranquil destination. I wish I lived closer, I would bike or run every chance I got.

Beautiful lake in San Francisco city. Nice place to jog/walk around the lake. You can also see several birds here. Only sad thing is people leave trash on some of the trails. Hope people can avoid throwing trash on the trails.

Was here a day before labor day. Quiet place and social distance from others. Spare the air day in-effect. But people were still BBQing which is not helping with the smoke in the air from the fires. We setup chairs and ate cold sandwiches to keep cool. Stayed for over an hour until someone fired up a grill and made the air quality worse.

Walking around the lake isnt the natural experience one might expect when walking around a lake. I like it because its a bit of a challenge, like most San Francisco walks, with ups & downs. And no intersections to break the pace. Constant cars whizzing by - noisy, not dangerous.

Nice calm place, lots of birds and squirrels. Lovely sunsets over the lake. Nicely placed and distanced benches.

Great park. Youll forget youre in a city. And has a pathway around the entire lake.

Park has a feeling of serenity, people are keeping their distance a d yet having alot of funI had lunch in my car while enjoying the view.

I grew up next to lake Merced and almost consider it my lake. My son and I went to lunch there the other day we brought it of course and sat on a park bench and watched the ducks and the lakes it was so relaxing and so pretty

Great place to run/jog in the mornings and afternoon. No lights for night running.

Great place for a walk, run or bike ride. Excellent bike lane. Paved walking trail with beautiful scenery including lake Merced, Harding park and the Olympic club.

One of the few places that you can walk without without dealing with too many hills. Was here on a Thursday afternoon and it wasnt very crowded so you could easily keep your distance.

I go here with a special woman. Amazing time well spent.

Shoreline access needs to be improved.Park need a complete overhaul and clean up.There were rats running around the pathways

Great view, wide path. Easy hills. To bike around it took 15 minutes.

Nice and peaceful , could use some lights at night because it is none at the parking lot.

Avoid this place like the plague unless you want to catch it. The majority of people walking and running the loop were maskless and spent zero energy trying to avoid my baby and me.

The liberal media will tell you that this is a lake with a beautiful running, walking, and biking trail. But what those libdems dont want you to know is that it ALSO has a great duck feeding area.

Barely any walkable trails. Mostly a golf course.

Went for a run and decided to take my car since it was raining. We were gone an hour and came back to the drivers window smashed. Asked everyone in parking lot if they saw anything and of course they didnt.

I love doing excercises while looking at a great view. I love taking my children with me too!

This lake have beautiful view , good for jogging or chilling!

My son and I each caught a bass. Sorry I have to keep the location and bait a secret. Just know you can catch fish here.

This is a great san Francisco park with a beautiful lake nestled within. You will see quite a few joggers circling the lake as it has plenty of walkway for joggers and pedestrians. The park does have a couple of bridges where you can cross over to the other side of the park. Its situated close to SF Zoo and bordered close by John daly Blvd on the other side. a really nice place to go for a daytime stroll. and great views of the rowers on the lake. Take note cell phone service can be quite spotty here.

I love my trek around the lake seeing shore birds and beautiful flowers.

Its a pity that theres no obvious trail to run along the lake and the runners have to endure the noises from the cars. The view at some stop points were beautiful.

Fair#Birding. Crowded on a weekend. Side trails require care to avoid stepping in the wrong place.

Its a good get away for the city in the city

This is a gorgeous park! I love strolling around the lake and soaking up the sun (whenever it makes an appearance) in the soft green grass. Even though many people run, walk, and ride around, the interior is generally pretty peaceful.

Not bad. No lights at night. Although, not supposed to be there anyways. Pavement is cracked. But, nice place to practice driving, or learning how to ride a bike or inline skate.

Golfers dream location natural landscape

There has nice lake, bunch of seagulls, and nice grass. would be a great place for picnic or BBQ, but for me its vegetation is not enough. Besides that, there are a huge amount of golf grassland at the east, which makes it not so accessible if you do not play golf.

Lake Merced is my spot. Its my favorite place in the city. Gorgeous peaceful & the Lake is so vast there is alot of beauty at every end.

Good place to walk. It has nice views of lake. Quite a bit of bikes though. For a walker, you need to be careful of bikers going around. Most are friendly and give you a warning theyre behind you. Remember to bring water.

One of my favorite parks. It has a very nice lake with a golf course. Saw a coyote in my last visit.

This park is home to numerous events, with ample room for festivities, but does get very busy during peak events. If you plan to park inside the park, try to get there early, and on occasion, parking has been routed to nearby lots, if not the one furthest northeast due to a lack of it. The walk around the park lake is nice, but there are shortcuts through the golf course over a bridge. Good for a job, and a nice view of the entire area. Be sure to reserve a location if desiring a grilling area for a timeslot.

Not much more to say other than Lake Merced is pretty awesome. Ive been coming here since the 70s. I used to ride my bicycle from Pacifica to go fishing back in the 70s. Then in the 80s 90s I started running around the Lake. I still run the Lake but not as quickly. I prefer to go to Harding park and hit some balls at the driving range then get a Burger and fries at the clubhouse.

A beautiful San Francisco Park. Lake Merced is surrounded by a golf course, trails and more. Its easily accessible, has more than sufficient parking and is a fun place to go for a walk.

My wife and I walked the lake route for the first time. Very cool! It took us an hour and half.

It is okay, you can walk around. The lake is nice. It is mostly only good for golf, however.

Great for boating + kayaking. Also nice for walks + hikes. Do not eat fish from here - even though you see tons of fishermen - toxic algae in the water. So no swimming or wading.

Great place to jog/run/walk. Surfaces are flat and semi busy. Parking is easy to find. Most are trails. On one side by the zoo is a boathouse with picnic areas. Relaxing and peaceful.

This is a very peaceful spot with lots of different options for activities. We just drove through to est at the Cypress Grill. Wish I had more time to enjoy here!
