Delicious house beers and a charmingly macabre decor. We were told it was a jazz night but what we got was decidedly bluegrass (not our twist at ALL). Regardless, the stage, sound, and feel of the place were all dope af.

No cover on Wednesday night. 1 star. Slow service. Minus one star. Barkeep was chatting behind the bar with a friend for about ten minutes while two or more customers were waiting. Gaucho, the swing band, was excellent. Mellow vibe. Great beer selection. The Wit was good and the nitro Stout also.

Nice venue. Very good beer. Unfortunately it was a very hot day today and work there being no AC inside, it was a bit unbearable. But kudos to the staff for doing what they could to keep us happy.

As a musician, Amnesia had always been a good gig, but when the owners of The City Beer Store bought it, it became killer. They ripped out and replaced the old beer lines and now their beer list goes toe-to-toe with any other place in the city. They also upgraded the sound system which was WAY overdue. I love playing here and all the staff are top-notch. Great sound guys, too.

Im walking by and hear a singer I like. I ask how long shell be on for, he says for another hour. They play one song and then start disassembling. I ask him wait are they done? He says no theyll be back on. I wait a bit and theyre clearly packing up for good. I go back to him and ask for a refund on the cover to leave. He says no Ive already been there for a couple minutes. What? Is this what you have to do to trick people in??

One of the best sounding, quaint music venues in San Francisco. Lots of great improvements have been done to a classic place to see live music (Ive been coming here for over 15 years). Fun, funky little bar with excellent live music playing most nights. Good beer & wine at a decent price, but no full bar. Cover is usually $5 if a band is playing and its usually more than worth it. Crowd tends to be a hip mix of beer people and whoever is friends with the band playing that night.

This place has a nice tap selection, and the bluegrass band was killer. I paid 9 bucks for a Pliny that was poured through a dirty beer line. I wasn’t able to get that moldy funky dirty beer line flavor off my taste buds until I got home. That was a bummer. 1 Star each for great tap list and band. 0 stars for everything else. Major bummer.

I love it here! Theres music every night, including a lot of free shows (bluegrass on Mondays, jazz on Wednesdays) and cheap ones as well.Given how many bands they put on here, Im impressed to say Ive never seriously disliked a band Ive seen here. I love that they do month-long residencies for artists so they can refine their work. Its not a full bar, so they only have beer, wine, and soju cocktails. But the beer selection is pretty good.

Amnesia is a great spot to hear local bands like Inner Ear Brigade, which plays there frequently. Its small enough to feel intimate, with multiple seating options at the bar and around the periphery. The drinks are reasonably priced ($5 for Racer 5 IPA) and the womens bathroom is clean enough and well stocked (something you cant take for granted). While the hosts up front arent always the friendliest, the bartenders manage the crowd efficiently and without attitude.

Sadly they have shortened the happy hour, or I would have given 5 stars. They have an excellent beer selection. If you are going for the gypsy jazz, show up early enough to sit up front you you can see (or be one of) the Charleston dancers. The Bluegrass evening is nice, too.
