This was my one must-go to attraction when I planned my trip to Museum Of 3D Illusions. We came on a weekday morning so it was too crowded, but we loved it so much that we decided to go back that same night- for a night pic! I am now convinced that I love everything more at night! Cant help but get lost in what seems like endless rows of lights!

The art work in this museum is amazing! The place is not that big. It can get crowded but when we came it was ok. This is a great activity for the whole family or a “couple thing.” They has a variety of art work but I think it’s not enough! We thought we were going to be there at least an hour but it was like 30-40 mins tops. It really does give that 3D effect if you stand at the right spot. To get the 3D effect you have to follow and give instructions otherwise it won’t work!We had a really good time but they seemed short staffed. We ordered our tickets ahead of time and the lady could not find my ticket reservation. Thank goodness she still let us in. We would’ve had the VIP though. Kudos to the staff for their patience! It is pricey for a short time frame. But fun is guaranteed!!!Tip: we were having so much fun and I forgot, if you go on IG the boomerang effect would be an awesome add to this 3D. I’ll have to try it next time I come!!!

Amazing place for 3D illusion! You don’t need to be creative there is well-described playbook on the wall for each art! You only need to follow the instructions and the photo will turn out perfectly! The place is very small and lots of people traffic lining up for one shot! But there’s no limited on the time! So enjoy the fun!

It was really fun! Came here with my kids and they had a blast posing in the pictures. Could be a little better organized. There were a lot of people in there at once which made it hard to take some of the pictures at the right angle. Still worth going to! Love our pictures from that day!

Well I expected more but it is just clever wall paintings. Nevertheless had fun with the kids. Some of the illusions like staircase and fall from buildings were really cool though. On weekends its a little crowdy so one has to be very patient while taking the pics. Also people need to be considerate enough not to block other persons views. Good thing is that they have clearly marked the spots which is at just the correct angle for taking pictures. A wide angle lense would be better to shoot in such close quarters.

Review №19

Definitely worth checking out. Since it is new expect to wait in line 60+ minutes even if you are prepaid. The murals are in 2D, but at the right angle in your camera lenses the image appears in 3D. Its very crowded and since each area has 3-4 murals and the place designated to take the photo from overlap its difficult for others not to be in your shot. They could limit the amount of people in each area to enhance the experience, but that would extend your wait time. They offer free lockers to store your belongings. It takes about an hour to get through the museum. My teenage daughters had a blast. I recommend it for kids 8+.

One of the coolest things Ive seen with 3d illusions. You can find parking close. We used Pier 39 parking garage but we had dinner reservations afterwards. The place is very easy to get to. It can get crowded but just take your turn to get your shots and youll be fine. You really do have to stand on the icon thing to get the full 3d effect. Sometimes this is hard as your standing in the way of other people but its worth the wait. You could easily go thru in 30 minutes but Id recommend taking your time and getting the right angles of the photos. Kids loved it!! Very happy we found this place and the price was totally worth it! Very friendly staff too.

I honestly had no idea what to expect - I thought this was a museum in the traditional sense of the word. But its not, & I had a blast! This is a selfie wonder world! Each room has great images that you take selfies with. It was sooooo much fun! You will need your cellphone. They have tripods you can rent (a necessity, IMO) and free lockers where you can store your stuff so youre not lugging it around. From there, all you need is a sense of imagination.Make sure you know how to use your phone cameras timer. I have a bluetooth remote, because I take a lot of selfies by myself, that made it easier to easily take a lot of pics. Either way, it was a ton of fun! For sure, Ill be going back with friends!

The VIP package we got was well worth it. A personal photographer and guide for an hour inside who helped us set up the ideal poses for each backdrop. Ivan, thank you for being our guide and photographer and letting us express ourselves, cant wait to see how they all came out! Parking at the hotel zephyr garage was incredibly conveniently located just through the fire bar. There were only a handful of other guests inside on a sunday. It took a minute to come out of our shells and let loose but we had a blast. There is a fair amount of sitting down and laying down and kneeling for certain backdrops and a couple jumps but we still had a blast.

Good fun taking pics! Went when it wasnt busy on a Thursday mid day. Only a couple ahead of us. About 40+ different stations to take pics. It was kinda warm inside. They should turn down the thermostat a little because does take a little physical exercise to pull off some of the shots. Approx. 1/3 of the photo stations didnt have sample pics to properly pose for some photos so we either by-passed them or made up our own. I can see you can get frustrated waiting for people ahead of you to finish their shots. A bit high priced on the admission, so I can see people visiting just once.

Love, love, love the illusions!! So very cool!! But price feels a little steep for the space. Its not very big, although you could spend a lot of time here taking pics. I recommend going, but keep in mind its smaller than you would expect, and better for older kids. Not a lot for youngers to do, unless they are really into getting their pic taken LOL!!

First review 2nd Jan 2020: This place is overpriced and no help inside if needed for guidance on taking photos. They promise a lot of help volunteers before you buy tickets but once you are in, you are on your own. Preference goes to those who buy VIP but there were not enough volunteers. std ticket customers got ignored on the particular day (1st Jan 2020).Updated Review : 6th Jan 2020: I am thankful that the 3D management took the review seriously and positively. Accepted their fault of under-staffing causing drop in quality of service provided on that particular day. They were nice enough to provide a reasonable resolution and counteroffer. Hope the place would be appropriately staffed on holidays

After charging us full price for admission, despite the fact there were $5/person discount coupons right outside the entrance, the cashier told us too late when we discovered the coupons less than 5 minutes after paying. The cashier should have alerted us to the coupons right outside the door that were available to anyone, or they should have automatically applied the discount upon checkout. A horrible start to what was otherwise a good experience.Post script: the response from the owner below suggests that the $5 (PER PERSON) coupon was only distributed by promoters. Guess what? These coupons were on display NEXT TO THE ENTRANCE of the establishment. There werent any promoters involved. We didnt pay attention to the stand holding the coupons because it looks like any other brochure stand which are planted on that main drag. Someone in our party just happened to walk back outside (after we paid) and noticed the coupons while we waited for someone to use the lavatory.

I loved the artwork and the creativity for each of the displays but it was difficult to really enjoy or even decide on how to interact with the art due to the lack of traffic control. At one point everyone in my group was spending only 5-10 seconds at each station quickly posing and rotating just to avoid accidental photo bombers (which happened anyways). If the pacing was done a little better between each group let in it wouldnt be so hectic.

What a unique place, the art is outstanding and the effects are mind blowing! The place is conveniently located between pier 39 and fishermans wharf - the magnet of tourist attractions. We were greeted by a friendly host, and were explained how to navigate in the space. If you are not a selfie monster and dont know how to pose, look out for framed examples of how to pose with that particular painting. They are usually located next to the painting itself. Some of the effects I only noticed after I was scrolling though the photos, they are just mind blowing. Definitely recommend to all selfie maniacs out there, to friends and families as a unique experience and a memorable photo collection!

Really awesome art, and great photo opportunities are great, but the experience is masked by a cramped space, over crowded experience, and underwhelming positioning of the art.Really enjoyed this spot, but it was really hard to actually experience this exhibit. This place is not for groups larger than 2 people. And be aware that the staff doesnt really pace anyone or help with order, its a free for all.Protip, try to go on off peak hours.

Kind staff and a good atmosphere overall but the museum itself and the expirence was severely lacking, especially for the $25 per person pricetag. I would not recommend this for anything over $10, its way too pricey for what you get (which ends up being in essence a cheesy photo). The artwork was nice but nothing especially interesting. Its really up to you in the end to make the expirence.4/10 would be good for a much lower price.

I wanted to love this place because it looked fun for a quick 20-30 minutes of our time. I have to agree with the comments of ZERO control of the flow or of how to monitor guests coming in and out of the “museum”. When I first arrived, there were 2 ladies trying to manage the line outside ~ at first I had no idea they were supervisors/managers/owners???, because they had no identification that they actually worked at the museum. The European brunette managing the door was polite and tried monitoring the queue outside the door. As the people inside who paid waited for their turn to enter the first exhibit, Brunette held the people outside from entering until the group in front was able to walk to the first mural. Once those guests walked in, she told me I could go in next. The cashier waiting inside asked to please wait my turn ~ clearly there was NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME...however, he kept saying for me to wait. I stepped back and was completely confused because the brunette at the door said to go in ~ keeping in mind there was still a line out the door. So here I am for a good 3-5 minutes just standing there waiting for someone to tell me if I could approach the CASHIER to SHOW my ticket or not. At that point, I nearly just wanted to leave because I felt as if the employees were pointing at me like I was being an impatient customer. Unbelievable customer service. Never again, don’t waste your money on this cheesy museum. Spend it on a sundae at Ghirardelli Square or something.***The only person who seemed to try to diffuse any part of this situation was a young Asian guy, who probably shouldn’t have said to me “I know sometimes I get impatient waiting for things” as if I was rushing through the doors ~ but he did apologize for the confusion.I walked in and saw all the murals and realized, it was just a waste of time filled with people wanting to take selfies.
