My sister and I were very fond of movies. We went to this movie theater to watch our favorite film. The audio was audible, and the place was very appropriate. You can really have a comfortable seat and can focus on watching. I will surely be back at this place.

Hands down my favorite modern movie theatre in LA. The rooms are always clean, and its great to be able to pick your seats. The projection and sound are always excellent, and I appreciate that there are good alternatives to the usual candy/popcorn at other concession stands. Theres also very often original art hanging on the walls. The points system for members is very well done - its easy to earn value toward free/discounted food and drinks.

The place is clean, cozy, and not crowded. The space for your food and drinks is big that you can fit a plate there which means you can definitely eat in comfort. No need to place food in your lap. The foods and other snacks are very affordable. The comfort rooms are well maintained too which I appreciated so much. Highly recommended!

Nice little independent film theater. My friends and I went to see Life of Brian and were pleasantly surprised. The theater offers online booking with seat reservations. Food options include the usual concessions plus a beer and wine bar. You can take alcohol into the theater. The seats were roomy and comfortable. We had to sit in the second row because we bought late, but it was totally fine.

I love this theater. Because the theaters are small, they always have tons of movies. The seats are amazing. They are huge chairs that have an electric switch to lay back and put your feet up just how you like it. Lots of room for cup holders and snacks. It’s just a great place to comfortably watch a movie.

This is quite a tricky cinema to find. Its on the too floor, signage isnt great. I saw a film in screen two where there are only two rows, both of which are very close to the screen leading to an uncomfortable viewing experience. The sound is also very low and the screen reflects a lot of light making it difficult to see the movie. Avoid.

Such a great theater. I’m impressed. Usually non-mainstream theaters don’t have enough investment to be pretty and have good equipment. This one has it all.It shows non-mainstream movies, which are hard to find elsewhere. The screen and the seats are amazing. The reclining sears are even better than at Metreon or Century: you can lay down almost completely. Easy to fall asleep if you don’t enjoy the movie :)The only minor complaint is that the front row is too close to the screen. The location is great. It’s right in the downtown, close to Transamerica and Embarcadero. Not many homeless people around, it’s pretty clean and feels safe.Probably my favorite theater in San Francisco so far.Last time when I was walking out at 9.30pm, I saw a raccoon ! They enjoy going to movies too apparently!

I like this theater a lot. Is never too busy and it has a more quiet atmosphere. Some of the rooms have new reclining chairs though in some cases if it is a small theater it is too close to the screen. The popcorn is good. They have both salt butter and kettle corn option. Bad things: do t get any actual food there it is just not good (chicken tenders, fries)

It was a bit of a chore for me to find the theater on Thanksgiving day with few facility employees around, but I dont know if its always that way. Its up a few floors on an elevator, but it seemed like thats not the way youre supposed to go. Theres also stairs and escalators, but the latter were not all functioning. Anyway, the theater seats are old school, so dont expect anything super comfy or stadium style, but they have a good movie selection and those halfway organic cookies all the Landmarks Ive ever been to seem to carry. Tasty!

I finally feel like its time to do a proper review. I came here in 1997 as a film student and honestly this was my second classroom. It was a resource.Yesterday? I had to see the boots Riley film. Thats why I was here at this particular time. The parking in this area is great if you go late at night. There are plenty of places to walk around and get nice and stoned before you watch the movie. The bar there is great especially if youre into wine. Everything else about the cinema is just pretty good nothing special just a good Cinema.

Review №35

This movie theatre has everything: the newest and best movies, comfortable seats, just the right size screening rooms, several self-serving ticket kiosks (so there is never any wait), food and drinks (including alcoholic beverages) and wonderful staff. After it was rebuilt completely a few years ago from a very good but quite plain movie theatre, I thought I’d never get used to all this luxury, but now I love it. Yes, the first row in the smaller rooms is too close to the screen, making the movie unwatchable, so watch for that. Other than that I recommend it whole heartedly.

Seems a bit outdated and from the 90s but still a solid theater with a responsive bar staff. Might be a good place for a date once in a while. The location is great for an after work movie but not a place to make your top spot if you want to see your favorite movie in the highest quality.

This movie theater is very cozy and modern. They have smaller, intimate auditoriums that house less than 20 seats that fully recline and they also have larger screens that hold maybe less than 100 seats which are leather but do not recline. I just saw high Life, a movie set an interstellar space. I sat in a recliner that squeaked and creaked everytime I breathe. and the screen was covered with small holes which is emitted tiny dots of blue light. Nothing like small blue dots covering a screen during a movie that depends on pictures of a black hole. This theater is getting worse and worse by the day.

This place may have beentops at one time or San Franciscians may not like to go to the movie because the screen has a tear in the middle of it. The seats do recline and you can order some food dishes and theyll bring in to you, but no pull out tray like the newer fancy theatres Ive been to in Sacramento where theres a bigger and better menu, pull out trays and servers that take your order even during the movie! I though it would be bothersome but not. This place can use a facelift. Although, the staff was very friendly. This is why I have given this place 2 stars. The prices are average.

The oddest aspect about this newly redecorated theatre is its reserved seating. I would like to sit where I want and not be relegated to sit where the prepaid ticket machine says theres availability. The chairs, however, are comfy if not gratuitously so. I go to see a movie and maybe munch popcorn not to drink wine or sit next to somebody who reeks of wine and is loud and tipsy or enters late.Theres no way to get student discount at the computer enhanced ticket machines. For $13.50 per ticket, Ill not be returning any time soon.

This is a nice, fancy theater! Its small, I think they have two screens. Located on third floor of the plaza with all the shops. Awesome low key theater.Plays mostly indie films and I have yet to go there with a full theater..which is a big bonus for me because that means theres less rudeass people ruining the movie (aka people who talk, text, chew, and slurp through movies)!!! :pAnother bonus is that (during the time of this review) this is the only theater in SF that allows for advance booking through Moviepass. All you have to do is show up within 30 minutes of your booking...no worrying about the lack of seating here.Grab a drink at the bar and some small bites from the concession, and enjoy the next couple hours!

I love the theater experience at the Embarcadero Center Cinema. I landed there one evening and found myself in seventh heaven when I sat in a fully reclinable bucket seat, with my feet up and abundant wiggle room. I have been addicted to this theater ever since in such a way that whenever I want to go to the movies, I check for what they are showing before actually deciding what movie to see. It also helps that they show mostly independent/artistic/original types of movies that I like, and that the A/V projection quality is excellent.

Convenient Landmark location just a few minutes from BART. Theyre located at the top of 1 Embarcadero, so if you have trouble finding it youll know youre then when youre at the roof! They have standard movie concessions plus specialty offerings and a bar on the opposite side of the entrance. Check out their website for special events and screenings as well. The only downside is that the theaters are a bit smaller and not as inclined. Other than that, great spot to catch indie movies in DTSF, especially if you have MoviePass!

Overall a very pleasant experience and I will definitely be coming back. The automated ticket kiosks are easy to use and intuitive and the service was very friendly. I was in one of the smaller side theaters to see Son of Saul and while the seats were indeed amazingly comfortable seating is extremely limited.
