Really good service! The service is always quick and the food is really pretty good. The seats are comfy and the table trays are large to put your food on there. Its so convenient to push a button and a server comes to you to place your order, and they also deliver your order. I love this Place. Im always going back here!

Was here my first time today. I wanted to compare to AMC Metreon. What I can say from one time experience is that its a nice small and cozy movie theater! Especially the outside of auditorium areas where you can relax and chill before/after the movie. It has its advantages, but I cant say AMC Kabuki 8 is better then AMC Metreon. I will continue with Metreon theater but maybe visit Kabuki once in a while for diversity.

I went to this place a week ago to watch my favorite movie. I was really amazed at this place. I really like their reclining chairs because it was very big and comfy to sit on. The entire place surrounded by cute and elegant decoration. The snacks that I bought were very affordable and delicious as well. Next time, I will drop by at this place again to watch some indie or classic movie

Hands down the best theatre! I love the fact that they have so much culture brought in here. I have been here a total of 2 times and I am never let down. The first time I came to see none other than Charlie Chaplins Modern Times. I recently came back to see DIVINE in one of her crazy movies Female Trouble. At my second time here I got to experience a little more of the theatre. As an opener a man played the organ to many gay oldies like I could have danced all night.

Went out to the walk-in movie theater (which I rarely do unless it is something I need to see). So went to the AMC Kabuki 8 for the first time in over a decade and it was a weird experience to see how much higher the costs were for the snack counter. Paid $10 for mac-n-cheese with bacon bits for a topping. It was a few bites to tell you the truth, but did not want to spend $7 for a small bag of popcorn. The fountain drinks were starting around that price so passed on that. The chairs were comfortable and I sat around the wheelchair seating, since I am disabled and have to use a cane to be mobile. The screen was a smaller one since we were in a mall-like multi-theater. The sound was perfect. The restrooms were modern and clean. I would now make this my neighborhood theater and will go again soon.

Lovely theater. The seats are very comfortable, it is quite clean, the service is quite fast, and the food and drinks selection is impressively good. My only complaint is that the movie screens seem to be a bit smaller than many other theaters I have been to, but it is a very small complaint. Their comfortable seats make up for it and then some!

Although the Kabuki is now an AMC chain theater, its still a good place to watch a movie. Its lost its Sundance art-house vibe, but its still a good option for seeing whatever is new. In comparison to a recent visit to the Theater Box in San Diego, the Kabukis film projection system is vastly superior. Unlike our recent San Diego experience where the screen was projected too large and the brightness suffered, the Kabuki video system is first rate.

This theater was near by to where we were doing some sightseeing, while out visiting San Francisco. I noticed the bar area immediately, it was upstairs from the entrance. It had huge lounge chairs/comfy love seats, and dim lighting. It looked different in comparison to other bars in AMC theaters I’ve been to. But the bar was pretty empty, to the point I thought they had it closed for the day. But what wasn’t empty was the concession area, this theater has a very small concession area, like very small. It doesn’t match the size of the theater, or the volume of guests to the theater. The line went all the way to the door to theater room 1, which was the theater we were viewing our movie. I feel they need to re-evaluate that space, because it doesn’t allow for a good flow of line traffic. Plus it blocks entrance from people coming in the theater, who are making their way up the escalator. The theater room itself was massive, with big comfy seats, and it was clean. I ama frequent movie goer, and frequent AMC theaters. Aside from the very cramped concession area, this is a nice theater.

This theater has wide spacious seats in a small theater seating only 57 in an intimate setting that a rich friend may have in their mansion. The sound system was good and the experience itself overall quite a pleasant way to enjoy an evening of cinema. With stadium seating the sight lines were unimpeded and the reserved seating guaranteed choice seats. The other theatres seat more but each is still small enough to remain intimate.

This is the place for your art and independent films. The theaters for these films can be almost laughably small but are whats needed to make them feasible. Very pricey theatre. $15.00 per ticket average and perhaps $2.00 discount for seniors. Parking under the building was $7.00 for about two hours. The automated movie ticket vending machines in lobby are not user friendly and end up making the line move slowly. Helpful staff was an plus.Major complaint is that the sound in the high end theatre is way too loud. Are we all so dead that we want that? The seats are very comfortable and theatres are cozy. Be ready to spend $37.00 including parking for two tickets to the movies. Sheesh. Hope this helps.

I love this movie theater! We always buy tickets on the AMC app so we rarely have any trouble with lines even if it is crowded. I love that you can select the exact seats you want for a movie even for $5 Tuesday movie nights. The snacks are good and they have a bar also with a decent selection. The seats are comfortable whether they are in the upstairs balcony for some theaters or just regular. The only real learning curve is realizing that BA15, for example, means Balcony level seat A15.

Review №66

Par for the course in terms of pricing, so Ill leave that out of this review as movie theater pricing isnt particularly wide-ranging in the city.In terms of major theaters in the city, Kabuki exchanges some more modern amenities like reclining chairs and specialty formats (Dolby Cinema, IMAX, etc.), but it makes up for it with more independent/niche films. Kabuki does have assigned seating, a bar, and the newer Coke Freestyle machines, so its not completely dated. In addition, the Japanese-y ambiance is really refreshing compared to the standard movie theater decor.Overall, this is a solid theater in a good location, but lacks some of the amenities that moviegoers may be accustomed to today. If youre looking for that smaller release documentary or prestige film this may be your only option, but its a good one!

I had a great experience at Kabuki. The theater is beautifully decorated with Japanese style decor. Its a smaller theater that never gets too busy. Its advisable to buy tickets online as they do sell out. On the ground floor is one theater and the ticket area. They have multiple electronic stations to buy or print tickets. Upstairs is the concession area, more theaters, and the bar. The concession area features typical movie fair like popcorn, soda, chips, etc. The full bar has cocktails, beer on tap, and wine. There is lots of seating in the bar area and is a great place to hang out before or after a movie. The drinks are reasonably priced and the service is great! You can now take drinks into any theater.I went before it was purchased by AMC. Its identically expect for some fo the independent touches. But what you gain with the AMC experience is consistent pricing, rewards, consistent experience, etc. Due to the smaller size and the bar, you still get an amazing local experience. Huge parking lot in the basement or on street meters. Next door are lots of restaurants in the Japantown Center. To those that are complaining about the AMC buy out. They are just complaining as they dont like chains or corporate companies, but want local experience at extremely cheap prices. Many business cannot survive in San Francisco due to the rent and labor cost. This is something we have to accept. AMC runs with less staff to save money, but its the correct amount of staff needed. No one uses real butter for the popcorn. Real butter is expensive, goes rancid, and must be kept warm. The seats are the same as they have always been. I wouldnt be surprised if AMC remodels soon with the new motorized recliner seats they have in all their other theaters.

Best and local theater if you live by it or around. Tickets are fairly high but average for what they are since its a theater and all. Good thing is that you can reserve seats, and theres even a bar at the top where you can bring drinks into your showing depending on the time you choose for the movie.Seats are good too, but too plush, not dirty and they clean regularly before and after each showing. The area is a bit on the ghetto but the entire area is slowly changing due to gentrification and more middle class families moving into the area improving the overall look and feel of the Fillmore.I have a long history with this theater since I grew up in the city and when this theater used to be called the Kabuki without the dine in sort of thing. Same and great theater just with now more modern amenities.

Kabuki theater is great- whoever thought drinks and movies was such a great combination? At least in its entirety, Kabuki has kept to its roots, even after AMC purchased it. The seating here is really comfy, and the drinks also include rotations and local favorites that you might not find unless you are here in the Bay Area. I would recommend to come enjoy yourself in Japan town maybe with some ramen or korean bbq, then drop by for a show. I am glad overall that AMC has let Kabuki Theater have its own personality.
