Me and our family came here for a friends birthday. We put in song recommendations and they said no. We were ok with that until when we were getting ready to leave. (Taking our skates off) he started playing all the songs one by one. ( all songs that we asked for. Me and my family felt targeted. Another situation was that the kids were going a little faster than his liking. Even tho there were many other kids going fast that he didn’t talk to. He told him to slow down and stop playing “tag”.

Alot of fun, great music and a great way to get some exercise too.

Went here most Saturdays nights growing up. It has not changed. So much fun skating, not like riding a bike though have to learn again!!

Its ironic that the DJ talks to the patrons like were students at an elementary school... Its ADULT skate night! (even though the bathrooms say boys and girls) 18 and up adult men and adult women, with an adult DJ who could use some adult confidence to exude the motivation through the microphone. Other than that, the music & rink are awesome for skating. >>>>^

Very affordable place. I loved it here. Its the time of environment for all ages. I recommend this place for date night any day of the week.

The rink is great! My wife and I were eager to skate. Her being a long time skater and this being my first time. They designated time switch up the skating style in the rink to allow skaters to learn new things. My time there ended with me hurting myself, but the staff were quick to respond and helped me by calling EMS and provided a wheelchair to help me back to my truck. All in all, once I recover I will definitely be going back!

I love this place and have gone for years. I was there a few weeks ago on a Saturday night. It was incredibly packed and a minority of customers had a mask on which was very shocking. This is very irresponsible to not enforce mask wearing in an enclosed space with many people. We are fortunate to allow business to remain open during a global pandemic but the only way to ensure safety of staff and customers is to strictly require masks since social distancing was nonexistent. I skated with my mask on no problems and I wish others were too :-( I love the rollercade but I do have health and safety concerns, please enforce mask wearing for all individuals when at roller cade even when skating!

Great atmosphere! Young kids are going to be young kids but the staff keeps things in order. I was impressed by the fact that even after they closed, the staff was willing to show my their skates that are available for purchase. Great customer service! Will return....

I remember going here when I was a child. Today I came back for the first time in 8 years. Sadly, I didnt skate today but I did buy some skates and they should be here soon. I remember the memorable smell this place had.

I like this place but wished I could loved it. It has potential but is poorly managed. First off, it is way overpriced with odd hours. You would think as much as they charge for admission they would renovate it to something this century. I had my seventh birthday there and still looks the same. The managment seem to make up new rules every time I am there. First it was no head phones,then was headphones only in the center of the rink, and now only one earbud in? Make up your mind or get a DJ. This could solve that problem. Quit playing the same tired random playlist. If you have rules for skaters you need to enforce them equally. Ive seen some of the regulars kids throw themselves on the ground ,putting their cell phones in the middle of the rink with nobody really telling them anything? Yet you are not allowed to skate backwards? Give me a break! Hire more help. I think the door girl was in charge of the horrible music and still had to tend to the consession stand and skaters on the floor. Please get it together. You guys have one of the best floors in town and must know it because you take advantage that there are not a lot of places to skate in town.

It was generally a fun time, we went Friday night and it was packed with tweens and younger kids. The only thing Id have to say honestly is DO NOT order food from there. Everything is heated up which.. ok. Its a roller rink not a restaurant, but they charged so much for a microwave burger. Gross! Not too happy about that... It was trashed and no one wanted to even bite it. Probably wont go back, but it was a pleasant experience.

Friday night it was packed. You had to wear a mask to get in, but you have the option not to wear when your skating. If your gonna give the people that option than you need to have and occupancy of how many people can get it if your not gonna wear a mask. It is still not the time to be relaxed about not wearing a mask. Wear a mask to protect your self and protect others, and especially for the little ones that cannot wear a mask because their airways are narrow and cannot wear a mask.

Fun spot to go skate. Beware sending kids unsupervised as there was a fight between some hooligans and security was certainly keeping busy with dumb kids. Otherwise, it was a great time.

This was amazing!!!! I fell so many times and at first you dont wanna go far away from the rail because personally I was scared of falling and being embarrassed but nobody really cared because they were all falling tooI reccomend going there but be prepared because for 4 ppl it was 50 something dollars and food and beverages are a little overpriced so take some extra money if u really wanna have fun.

I’ve been skating here with my two kids for almost two years. Watched my kids learn to skate to skating like the pro’s. This is by far the best atmosphere and wood floor rink in SA. Highly recommend to all family’s. A great way to spend time with your kids. Friendly staff and helpful. Hope to see and meet you.

Lady at the front door is plain RUDE! Snack bar is horrible only have frozen food. Overrated! There has to be better than this!

I booked a private party here for my 30th birthday and it was a wonderful experience!! The staff was absolutely fantastic!!! It was perfect!!!

Clean and controlled environment. No rowdy or unpleasant people when I have been there. Fun music and well maintained rink. Friendly staff. They offer discount days and party rooms. The rental skates are in good shape and dont smell. The price is on the high side for one skater. So it is hard to afford a group of young people for a casual day of skating. The prices likely go into keeping the quality high. The young people I took had a great time. They have a short menu in a restaurant area that includes pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, soda, and sweets. They also offer lessons from a Championship skater!

Havent skated in over 20 years... i still got it. It was all around great family fun.

Love The Rollercade! I have been skating there on their Wednesday Adult Nights for a couple years. There is an awesome community of skilled skaters that go there. Most people will teach you skills if you ask for help. Their floors are the best in town. They always have a security guard on duty as well, so its good clean fun. Highly recommend!

Awesome! The atmosphere was great and kid friendly; especially the music. The price was reasonable. We went on a Sunday family day so it wasnt crowded at all. Plenty of beginner skaters. My child loves it! We will definitely go back again.

Girls really liked it! A suggestion though to give some time or area for more advanced skaters to skate without the fear of hurting or getting hurt avoiding the newbies.

It was an amazing family oriented environment very friendly staff great music super great vibes kids loved it the crowds are great not unpleasant people and snacks are a fair price nachos are a bit pricey but hey better than the theater prices thats for sure

Loved the place and the staff is incredibly awesome! I was a little disappointed with some teens there being kind of disrespectful by skating an inch away from me and my 4yr old. Someone could have gotten hurt.

This place doesnt even deserve any stars because I went there three different times last summer to visit. There were rules targeting regular skaters there like no skating backwards or headsets. What a joke. This is the only rink Ive seen so far that does that. Im not impressed whatsoever. Wont be back either. Sink deep down into tragedy with your dumb rules rollercade.

This was the first time My family and I went here even though its not close to our place but my kids enjoyed it. The place is clean, music and lighting is good, the choice of games played such as backward skating, glow skating, etc is fun to do and watch. I recommend it.

A little pricey for a family of four on a regular night with the total being $48, which is one reason for the 3 star review, they do have Sunday family skate with would be $28 and a Tuesday discount as well but who is going skating on a Tuesday. The Pros were the DJs were fun and kept it active with different events and games and they did have assist bars at different sizes for kids who are learning to skate. The restrooms were clean as well. The biggest CON after price was the cleanliness of the cement rails surrounding the rink which were literally sticky and probably have not been cleaned in years. Overall a good time if you have kids who like to skate or are wanting to learn.

Had not been here since I was a kid. It looks better now than back in the 70s... My grand daughter was there Sunday- for private skate 30 minutes lesson on Sunday morning 11:15. Her teacher was great! Very fun and casual energy. Everyone seemed friendly and professional. Most important, its clean.

Enjoyable trip back to my youth! Well-lit, i think it is a little pricy ($12 including skate rental), decent food prices. Pretty funky carpeting! Barrier walls (separating the roller floor from the carpet) is sticky (I dont ask). An all around good time. Average age of skaters i think is about 12

First time here. I went on a Friday Night.Right at entrance with staff request, my own skates needed a toe stopper/plug check before use. I got the staff assistance I needed for it right away.Upon checkup on the rink’s hardwood flooring, it looked good, it’s evident that it’s gotten care over time for some glossy patchworks. This places only minor textural inconsistencies, shouldn’t affect your rolls, no problem.Assuming because this is a Friday Night, rink rules are as specified on their website. Limited/restricted freestyle skating in respect to casual roller skaters’ safety. As a former frequent skater from another location, this was a bit of a surprise for me. I suggest maybe another night specified for longer jam sessions or even another rink for those experienced skaters, but I HIGHLY recommend this place for the safe, fun, casual environment for friends and family.Overall, I was really impressed. I’m going to try for their adult nights instead as I readjust back into old skating habits. But I will remember this place for other nights if I choose to bring some friends and family members for a safer, casual-friendly skate night.

Great option here in San Antonio. Been in business a long time. With that being said some things are being over looked at times. Could use some updates, brightness and or a really good cleaning/paint job inside. Nonetheless, it’s a rink you will enjoy for sure.

Best skating rink in SA. DJ played only jams. Atmosphere was great. They were very focused on safety (which is good) but that means no races or roughhousing. My kids loved it and I had a great time too.

I used to go to The Rollercade as a teenager. Now, I take my own teenagers there. The place has been kept up really well. Definitely a fun family night.

Its a great place to be with family. Dont leave your borrowed skates unattended they will take them back to the place you borrow them from. Staff was very nice and the place was very clean. Tiny bathroom stalls. I didnt see a handicap restroom stall. I wish there were bars in the stalls to help me stand up. Only on sink for both men and women to wash their hands. Inexpensive food. Cheap locker prices. Overall great experience.

They hosted my two daughters Birthday and the staff went beyond to make the experience memorable for the guest but must importantly to us poor parents, we loved having our celebration at The Rollercade!

We took our 7 year old grandson to Rollercade at the end of the summer for half-hour lessons with Heather. Wow, that girl can skate! And, she is a terrific teacher! She is nice, fun, and she captured our grandsons attention immediately. She taught him all the basics: all the while, she was patient and kind and laughed along with the things our grandson said as he learned to roller-skate. She enjoyed the lessons as much as he did! He looked forward to all three lessons and looked forward to more, but school started! Highly recommend!

This was our first time going. Wed been to the two places on the west side that are pretty crappy so I read the comments about this place and sounded good. They did not disappoint! It is very well maintained, doesnt stink and the staff if very friendly. They accidentally charged me as a kid because they didnt know I was the parent (Sunday parents are free!) but he apologized and immediately cancelled the payment and charged the correct amount. All the employees smiled which is different than the other places. The wooden floor is really nice. This is the only place well be going to now! I didnt even know it existed until I did a Google search to find all the skate places. Make sure you go here, you wont regret it!

The Rollercade was awesome!I had a wonderful time. They have a nice big rink. There isnt really an arcade area but the rink and snack areas are nice enough. My only complaint is the skate-mate I rented was not tall enough for an adult to use with being completely hunched over. This was my first time to skate in a few years because of spinal surgery. Great times! I will totally go again and recommend this place. Also we went during the daytime.

There’s slim pickings when it comes to roller rinks so thanks for existing. There’s just not much to do if you don’t skate and the food options are slim. Friendly staff and safe environment.

Rollercade is the best skating rink in San Antonio, hands down. The floor is perfect. The lighting is perfect and the people are fantastic. We started skating there almost three years ago as adults and it’s literally changed our lives for the better. Who would’ve known that going skating on a whim would lead us to joining a nationwide community of some of the most wonderful, loving and passionate people out there?! Skate not hate is a slogan that is popular in our community and it shows every time we go. We all love each other and cheer each other on and generally have become better people (and in the best shape of our lives) since joining this fabulous community. I couldn’t recommend skating more. And in response to a review by Lance a few days ago, there is definitely NO gang activity going on in our community!! Newcomers witnessed a rarity in our community, an attack on our beloved DJ from another skater. Yes it was horrible and heartbreaking and we are reeling from it but it most definitely had nothing to do with gangs. Frankly it’s disgusting to assume so and post it in a review with no regard to facts at all. So fear not! Come skating and enjoy the love and freedom you’ll feel while flying on wheels to some amazing music!

Came here casually on a saturday and have continued visiting since then.. my daughter loves this place, so it was a must she celebrated her 10th birthday here.!! And what a hit! The whole party planning was stress free! We had a party of 50+ and we all comfortably fit lol.. the staff was amazing and helpful the whole party time. We will definitely be return in the the future..

Clean, fair prices, and not too crowded during the day. They did a good job of having special skating mixed in (like speed skating for different age ranges). I also loved that they had things you could push around with you if just learning to skate.

I went to a friends birthday party and it was incredible with the snacks and the different types of games.

We went for a bday party but good prices and a fun atmosphere have made us go back twice!! Family night was under 50 bucks for the 4 of us, snacks included. They do skate mate (like a balance or brace) rentals also in case youre rusty like I was or working with a new skater like my little one.

This Place is amazing! Clean, well maintained, and affordable.

Enjoyed the friendly people and the respect the kids had with my wife in a wheelchair sticking out a taking part of a side walkway making it a bit difficult to go past 3 person wide with her there. Generally only 1 at a time could go past and we had no issues from anyone and that was greatly appreciated as it appears they are handicap friendly as well as ADA Compliant in every way we saw.. There was nothing I could say about this place on this visit I felt was bad or wrong. Was a fun environment with music from as far back as the 70s. My daughter says the wood floor is a bit uncomfortable and she prefers concrete but admits the landings are softer when she wiped out. Lighting could be better and have more of a variable as I didnt notice too much of a difference through the skate night. The wall around skate area when you touched it seemed a but sticky like it wasnt coated properly after painting and the place smelled of freshly installed carpet which after a while got to me but it was clean and from a first visit was a huge plus to bot see some nasty grimey floor. I will definitely be bringing my daughter back. They offer party rooms, private skate lessons, family and 2-9 skating as well as private skating events and more. Definitly worth looking into of you are a skater.Wheelchair accessible skating is available with my wife fully in wheelchair. We are able to go on the floor together and me walk with her as long as she stays withing the inner area of a red circle of the skating area. From the outside I did not see that area nor know how large it is compared to the skating area.I talked to management about taking photos for my review for my review and to show more of what they offered and was refused by management because the owners were not available to ask. Being a public rentable space I feel this should have been acceptable but was rejected and this concerns me as to why if they have them posted on their website. I am not going to post their images here but you can visit their website to see them if you wish, for what they have. I am disappointed in that response but if the rooms were being used I would understand but that wasnt their response I had gotten.Like other skating rinks in San Antonio they do have a snack bar with a few items. At the time of this review the Hours of Operation and Snack Bar Menu are attached.. I am impressed with the prices at the Snack Bar as they are reasonable compared to many Skating locations I have seen before this one.. That is based on what I remember from the previous places at this time however I did not take photos of the other locations for one reason only, I was not i.pressed with those locations andmay not return for different reasons.Kevin Coleman

Our family loves skating here. Clean and fun!

Clean place good service. Music selection is horrible on the Saturday nite we went. No older skate music all the same slow beat seemed like we where at a place to sleep crowd was totally bored as well no skate dancing no head bobbing just skating around in circles. Finally left after about 1:45 minutes. No crowd interaction Whole part of a skating center is to get some groove on. Not that nite.
