I only give it a 4 star because $3 for a water is horrible. Nobody can use water fountains right now so I think they should have a cheaper water option. Other than that. Just as fun as when I was younger. Great staff!

When you enter, it is quite overwhelming. We didnt know where the line began or ended. There are signs everywhere! No Gum!! The staff here were FIRM, but not to be mistaken for rudeness. The staff was very helpful and did everything in a timely manner. The kids HAD A BLAST!! Smiles all around and none stop laughter. TIP: wear long socks!

Love the music,the vibe is right. Too many unsupervised children under the age of 15. Snacks cost way too much. But overall you will have a good time

Its a bit tired and its a bit outdated, but its still just as fun as ever. Pack up the kiddos and go today, you will sleep better for it because they will sleep better. Small candy and soda station available. Could really use a better food selection, but hey its a skating rink. Glo skates twice an hour, wide range of music to cover everyones taste. If you bring your own skates make sure they have fresh wheels. No rental roller blades available.

Posting because I’m still mad from the time I went when I was a child and the lady that worked concession stole about $30 from me. I gave her a $50 to pay and she said it was a $20 and would not give me my money no matter what.

Zero ZERO enforcement of masks or social distancing. Employees not wearing masks during close contact with customers. People not wearing masks at all allowed to enter facility. Say what you will about reduced cases in Bexar County but rules are rules and if we have to wear a mask in HEB they should definitely be worn in this close contact zero chance of social distancing facility. Everything else was OK and ok is it.

Skate rentals are completely worn out and disgusting. The kids skates do not work. Water fountain is always out of order. This place has not been maintain by management. Don’t waste your money..Customers deserve better

Fun, we had a good time even though I had not used skates in over 15 years! The atmosphere is very fun, there was mostly teens there. My 6 year old loved it. They play games throughout the night. Only thing I did not like is that they only accept cash! But Ill be ready next time!

Our kids like this place to me its a little ran down, and the people are unfriendly. They dont give much time for beginners to learn so my kids usually give up after an hour or so and I think its a waste of money. Wish they had specials it make it worth taking them more.

Everything was nice but it was hot inside. Wish the A/C was cooler.

I called to try and make a reservation for my daughters birthday party coming up in June. Website states $260 for a three hour party and thats what I wanted to schedule. The woman I spoke with who said she was the manager said due to COVID the time slots will be changing to 2 1/2 hours. I totally get that. Since this is a full half hour less than what is usually offered for the price I expected a discounted price (after doing the math a half hour would be about $43). The woman refused and said despite getting a full half hour less, we would need to pay full price and everyones prices are going up anyway. Very disappointed that this business is choosing to charge their usual prices for less time than usually offered. Everyones taken a hit from this pandemic but this is a dishonest and unfair way to come back from it. Needless to say due to that fact alone we will be celebrating elsewhere.

Great skating and doing a great job with covid procedures

The snack bar prices are a little on the high side. Cash only. Drink as 3 bucks for a cup and no refills. The manager was kinda rude when we asked if we could just have a glass of water for our 5 year old. Kids had a fun time though.

I took the kids right before school started. It was a weekday afternoon. They were closing at 6pm. There wasnt a DJ or a ton of people which was nice cause I was helping a little one learn to skate. Service was great. We had a lot of fun.

Went there for a birthday party. Had a lot of fun. Its a throwback but the sound system was great, my kids enjoyed it, and we had a good time.

Skates run a little big but big fun

Havent done this in years, but once I got back into it, it was FUN!!!! The occasion was my daughters 13th birthday and she and the kids loved it!!! Motrin here I come... At age 51 it didnt come easy but it came!!! Brings back memories!!!

It is the closest roller rink to my home and my daughter loves to skate. Took her and a group of friends for her birthday. I enjoyed the skating and music but the customer service could be better. No one seems to know how to say hello or ask may I help you. One young lady was decent to me but 5 minutes later, was completely rude to my daughter. We waited to get our skates for 10 minutes before anyone helped us. Finally a young kid came over to help but not one word was spoken. It was ridiculous. Anyway happy skating!

It was really nice but they dont have a sink in the bathroom to wash your hands!!!

The price is ridiculously high. No sink in the restrooms, so I could imagine sickness and germs everywhere after using the toilets. The skates are not cared for, they smell and I saw the employees place them back on the rack without cleaning them or spraying any disinfectant in them.

Very poor customer service. My husband was told not to be sitting on the floor and had an attendant argue with him because he was on the floor with our daughter who had fallen and hit her head. They didnt care that our daughter was hurt, just that he was sitting on the ground (in the middle mind you, not blocking traffic of the advanced skaters).

The floor is great for skating. I highly recommend kids 5 and up to learn how to skate in that rink and artistic roller skating ( figure skating on roller skates)with the owner, Miss Gracie. She is a world class coach. She has taught several kids who have been champions in nationals and some have been world champions. Her rink is maintained very well by her staff.

Overall great kitchy vibe, but if youre going to work out you should know that you cant have any type of electronics on the floor, including an MP3 player or phone to listen to your own music. And the music pretty boring

My sister booked a party. They say no outside food. But they pizza that came with the party pack was pizza hut. Not completely mad about that, we love pizza hut. I asked if I could have her order a salad (because In doing my healthy thing) from pizza hut, she said no because it wouldnt show up in time. I said I dont mind going to pick it up, then she said no outside food(emoji)... yeah... well the nachos... the chese was cold! And sense I was starving, I cheated and dipped a chip into cold nocho cheese! They dont have sprit. They have red flash, diet coke, hiC, rootbeer, and water. They used to be way better! They need to step that game up! If we have to provide our own plates, cups, and eating utensils, can we pick the food you order or bring our own? All in all they kids had a goot tine skating, so it wasnt all bad.

Great place for some old-school fun. Brings back the memories for sure! Could use some updating but I like it retro.

First time being in this facility. My daughter and her friends wanted to go skating. The woman that was at the window charged us $12.00 to get in. She was so rude and mentioned any rules to us, even my daughter said she was rude . After that when they started skating my daughter asked if she could eat so I ordered some food because they didn’t have food just snacks. When the pizza got there the woman said that we weren’t allowed to bring food from outside so she locked the doors. Then, she told me that if I was going to eat I couldn’t eat inside and I was going to eat outside to make sure I clean everything not to leave food outside with 102 degrees weather. The pizza guy was locked outside too. We were told if my daughter and her friends went outside to eat they would have to pay to get back in. I will never go back to this place.

Came from out of town and since Im a skater I travel with my skate and my niece wanted to go skating. Never got past the manager who asked to see my skates... she then told me we couldnt skate because my skate plugs were black (plugs that never touch the floor, mind you).... she told me I could have any other color but black... a d then told me they were $15... really???? Did i mention that it cost $12 to get in? There was 4 of us at $12 plus 2 of us would have has to pay #15 each.. Needless to say we left.. so if you are looking for a place to skate..... #DONT STOP HERE!!!!!!

I love this place never too crowded and plenty of room to practice and learn, the music selection could be a lil more modern and upbeat, but otherwise, love the energy n vibe of this place!!!! Not like the stuck-up vibes n bad energy over at rollercade...

I had a absolutely amazing mothers day! And my children did also. It was even better watching my daughter enjoy her self same as I did when i was a little girl. The music was awesome! The business and restrooms were clean. No one gets in the building unless the front attendant electronically opens it. Roller skating never goes out of style! I will definitely be back!

It was okay. Make sure you have skates on because they wont let you skate without them when if your with your children.

It was ok. My three main gripes are that it was a very pleasant day outside and inside was hot. Im not sure if they had the AC low or off, but I was drenched by the time we were done and it felt so much better outside. My second gripe is that if you want to buy yourself some skates, or already have your own...you still pay $12 to skate! You can go ice-skating for $12 with your own skates, and the building is much nicer, and cold, and they have a way higher cost ceiling. There is also an arcade. The price if you have skates should be $8-9. My third gripe, if you have never been, is that every little while they tell everyone to get off the skating floor unless you have a glow-stick, which is just asinine. Of course they sell glow-sticks, the cheapest being $3. I could deal with the other two gripes if the AC would just work properly.

Its straight out of the 80s, updated music but plenty of old fashioned skates and ridiculous lighting. So, its great! Just exactly what you remember growing up to share with your kids.

I never got into the facility. She saw my stops on my skates were worn and got attitude with me. I knew this and was prepared to buy new ones but I didnt like her tone. She made me feel not welcome so we left. Im sure the place is nice but I drove a long way to skate with my kids and just didnt feel the warmth and welcome I did at other facilities.

Brings back okd memories for my wife! She lived at the Car Vel skateland south when she was younger.

Hot as hell in there. Not sure if the AC wasnt working, or they decided to conserve electricity,, BUT either is a bad idea on a Saturday night when youre there for your granddaughters birthday party. I guess they can get away with that when youre dealing with 98% teenagers who dont know any better.. Other than that it wouldve been 5 stars. You only get one chance to make a first impression.

Kids seems to have lots of fun at this place only downsize to it is that you have to have cash to buy drinks, there is no way to purchase beverages with a card and there is not an ATM

I actually worked here as a teen over 10 years ago. The place hasnt changed. Its a decent size, a little small but doable. The music needs to be a bit more diverse. Although there is a few r&b and hip hop hits, they are few and far between which is strange considering that the rink is located on the east side. It would be great if they would play more top 40 hits since thats what a younger crowd listens to. Overall still nice. Just diversify the music selection and itll be great!

As a 1st time visitor, I loved the locale. The music was on point for both current and classic dance music. The place is clean and ample and has great potential as a hub for a great family, teen or adult hot-spot. However, they need to revise some the policies of admission and entertainment options that may be a deterrent for potential regulars...The place has a lot of potential.

Worst skating ring ever super out of date. The place is a hot mess I mean that literally, the ac doesnt work, it smells like feet and onion rings. The skates are super old Im talking years old, my daughter was having trouble skating I thought it was her until I put on the skates myself and relized they were hanging on by threads. The drinks cost 3 dollars, the food is super pricey for some junk like hot dogs and chips. They try and make you buy 3 dollar glow sticks to skate when they turn off the lights. They dont even have a kids skate or even a walker to assist young skaters. There staff is rude, this place is for young teenagers that dont know any better until they get older and relize what is real customer service. If I could have scored this place a zero trust me I would. I swear I want my money back. Places where you have to pay first to find out how crapy it is suck.

Had a birthday party here. It was great if your older it takes you back to good memorys ,and if your younger u get to make new memories. So Awesome!

The skating area is great but pricey for the skates and the food

Can be a bit pricey especially when they advertise $12 skates included and then they add in a $3 glow stick for each kid that you did not ask for... sad that an establishment would feel the need to overcharge kids. When confronted by the overcharge they say, well we gave you a glow stick... horrible customer service. Sadly first time and last time we will be going here.

The manager was so rude to her own employees. I witnessed her belittling and name calling one during my visit.

This business has been around and family ran 40 years or more. Its very well kept and clean. The music is great allot of variety from todays to country to old school. Prices are competitive especially when it comes to entertainment less than movie theaters. Its so nice to see all the positive feedback every once in awhile as Some tend to thrive on negative and you cant please everybody.

Unbelievable,the staffs were very rude and complained alot ,the prices didnt make since and they would get mad or annoyed for not buying skates ,music was not good at all,couldnt bring food (birthday cake) because of how bad the prices were,very racists of the music ,rules are unbelievable,no hats really ,you guys need to work on yalls people skills for real.the snacks were a waste of time most of them were melted .the food is unbelievably nasty bro like fr(ONE STAR FOR LIFE).

We got invited to a birthday party and the minute we walked in there is a rude lady who asks me about my present and what it has in it! I tell her its a birthday present for the birthday girl and that I refuse to show her whats in it she responds she just wants to make sure what comes in and out of the establishment if I wanted to get frisk like that I wouldve gone to a jail.

Gross. Everything is broken and dirty. Cant even wash your hands in the restroom.

For the parents who want to have a birthday party for your child here, let me give you a little run down. First and foremost there is NO HOST/HOSTESS, take your own knife to cut the cake, and AC DOES NOT WORK in the front area (for the past 6 months maybe even longer). Secondly, make sure you count your hot dogs before YOU serve everyone. I got cheated out 2 hot dogs. Ask for pitchers of water for they dont tell you water comes with the party. Finally if you ask for an ice pack, becareful because its dry ice NOT an ice pack, take your own glow sticks, there are NO BUMPERS for the kids, and they play these long games that stop the kids from enjoying their time. #goodluck hope this helps.

Had my daughters party here.. wished they would have helped out a little like I thought they would with cleaning.. The area was super messy... all they did was bring out the food and dissapear.. my hand was stained from cutting the cake and of course they dont have a sink there to wash your hands.. They never told us thank you or checked on us the whole time. When the party was over no one came so we just got our stuff and left. Never any acknowledgement or anything to make the day more special for my daughter 10th Birthday.. also if your paying all that money for a party over 300$ we should not have to pay extra on top of that for glow sticks

The actual building is fine. Its nothing to write home about, but I had no complaints.However, I brought my own skates and still had to pay full price. Whatever. Still not a big deal, but still annoying.Unfortunately, theres so many rules that it feels like someones mom is here constantly nagging everyone. I just want to skate and have fun. Not coming back.

The lady was rude at cash register then walking in we were told there was no bumpers for the kids my son is 4 so he needed one. You cant skate comfortably because theres alot of little kids on the way who cant skate so many people falling due to that. So many many many young kids who make out and sit on laps it was very inappropriate. I always go to rollercade on san pedro they have a organized functioning system going on kids who cant skate and use bumpers must stay in the middle and the dj plays awesome music. I decided to give skateland a try and regreat it will stick to rollercade.

Terrible. No price listings, dirty blonde lady was rude and didnt explain anything and seemed like she was eagered to get a admission. Place smells musky,skates old as hell. They dont provide a walker for my 8 yr old daughter. Lady basically said keep falling and get up. Really? Gotta bs to earn a paycheck. We payed because she wanted to stay. Dont recommend this place for beginners.

The front desk person is rude. My kid had her own water bottle and the front desk person insisted that we couldnt bring water inside the building. What???? When I tried to explain that I didnt have place to put it because we were dropped off she responded with bad attitude this is a business and we have the right to refuse entrance Im just an employee. Finally she said that we could leave the water battle with her and pick it up on our way out.They sell small water bottles for $3.00. each.Also they should do something about the feet smell. The place stinks.

It would have received higher praise from me had their skates been disinfected in some fashion. They clearly do not coming from the horrendous stench and by physically watching the employees place used skates up at the end of the day. I kept it to myself for the duration I attended but the next time I go, Im taking my own skates. I recommend it to others but to each their own.

So we been going in and outside all day and just now we went outside and went back but the door was locked and the lady at the front yelled at us bc they “don’t allow ins and outs” and they tried to make us pay 12 dollars each TO GET BACK IN...first of all if you don’t want us to go in and out get a better damn ac bc I’m not sitting in there all day sweating bc of how hot it is...our stuff was still in the building too and she still tried to make us pay like at least let us get our stuff before making us leave...manager is rude the workers are rude idk if I’m coming again

Overall a good experience, its not the nicest and the the bathrooms dont even have a sink. The dj didnt act like he cared about his job although the music and lights were pretty good. A lot of young employees who dont exactly do the best but its a good atmosphere. My skates were slightly damp and Ive read other reviews about stinking skates. Seems good for birthdays

The place was nice. However isn’t worth the price of everything. $3.00 for an 8oz cup of sodas, no refills. $5.00 nachos $4.00 hotdog. However, the most displeasing feeling of it all is having to get off the floor every time the lights go out because we did spend $3.00 on a glow stick. It was okay for what it was worth, but we will not be returning.

The music is nice, the challenges put up a good sweater, and if you fall and break something, they give you and icepack. And nothing else. It is fun and good exercise, but you see where their 5th star went.

I took my kids here on Monday, June 20th, and was wary at first because of the reviews Id read, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. $11 each for entry and skate rental for unlimited time seems to be a fair price plus we each got a free ice cream sandwich. I did not plan on buying anything at snack bar because all places like this tend to overprice their food/drinks. A water fountain is available. Floor was in good shape. My daughter had no complaints about the bathroom. All the staff seemed courteous and helpful. The young woman who served as DJ and game director was very attentive and friendly. We will be back and maybe bring our own skates. Would it be the same price?

I have been going there since I was a kid. It used to be a great place. BUT... theres no changing area for babys they dont like small kids and management is very VERY disrespectful! And they are very prejudice to Hispanics and African Americans. And charged my best friends credit card twice.But they have good games and have a good skating floor. Someone should look in to it.

I visited another location with my kids but my kids were invited to this location and was again happy with my experience as I was with the other location. Management as well as the other employees were very nice and quick to help us answer any questions. I dont like to complain but had to make the manager aware of a patron that was changing her child on a table in the snack bar. I couldnt believe someone would do that but I let the manager know and she was quick to address the situation and I think handled it in a professional manner. Its hard being yelled at and threatened in front of others and still beable to keep calm and be professional. I made sure on my way out to thank her and let her know she was doing a great job!June

They should really advertise that they only have quads for rent and not inlines we paid got in to only realize that they only rent the quads so my daughter and I decided to give them a try (we’ve only done inlines our whole lives) and we couldn’t skate at all on them, so not even 5 mins there and wasted money because neither of us could skate on quads. So we went to turn them and told the girl we can’t skate in them and she was oh well sorry have a great day, not offer a refund nothing I am highly disappointed in this place and how things are handled. So for warning they don’t offer inlines at all here period. 24.00 down the drain for nothing

Still gave me the old feeling from skating back in the day. Its not really crowded, so you can skate pretty freely. Music selection is pretty decent. ONLY complaint is the snack bar, very LAME and over priced. But ice is free and there is a faucet(not in the bathroom like youd think)..!!

Skateland east was and still is a great place to take your kids, grandkids or even adults can relive their childhood as long as you are able to do so. No one is too old to skate. They are reasonably priced at $11.00 and they used to have an $8.00 deal on Tuesdays but not sure they still do. You can have fun without breaking the bank. Be sure to pick up some glow sticks at the dollar store before you go because the ones they sell there are overpriced. These are used for when they turn the rink lights down for a short period say about 10 minutes and only people with glow sticks can skate. They keep the skates in good condition and the staff are pleasant to deal with. They also have a snack bar and a soda machine. Also you can inquire about birthday parties and skating lessons.

Make sure you eat and drink before you go. Their food is very pricey for common stuff. $3 bottle soda? Subway four dollar meals are more fulfilling and cheaper. So eat before or after skating. If you cant skate dont go. Not enough railing to hold on to. My friend fell and dislocated her elbow cause there was nothing to hold on to.

Cost too much money for the concession stand but the staff is great and overall had a great time
