Saw Married Alive. Enjoyed the play. Performers did a good job. Sound and lights were fine. Ticket prices are reasonable. There is a light snack bar there. The cast greeted patrons after the play. I had no trouble finding a parking spot, but I can imagine that parking could be an issue. All in all a very enjoyable evening. Ill go back.

The actresses and actors were SO talented and gave the best performance! The theater has such a nice, familiar ambiance to it. We will DEFINITELY be bringing the family back more often. ♡

I thought I would treat my 11 year old niece and my Mom to watch ANNIE.. I must say I was a bit reluctant once we arrived because of the size of the Theatre and the chairs are just your reg. run of the mill chairs BUT What a NICE SURPRISE once it started... The young cast were TOP CLASS (SO TALENTED) the set was awesome! The show in general was one of the BEST in San Antonio!! Plus we Loved how the Director/owner took the time to say some encouraging words! Such a great feeling when we left- well worth the $$ DEF. WILL RETURN AND LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!!THANKS GUYS YOULL ARE THE BEST!!

Purchased Groupon tickets to take my kids to see Elf, the musical. I forgot the last time we went to see Horton Hears a Who it was only kids that were acting. Not only was it bad acting, but it was bad acting with awful singing. If a kid cant sing, why would you offer him a role that needs singing? Plus, these songs are so quick you wouldnt understand their mumbling anyway. Some kids were forgetting their lines. Some guy in the back, probably controlling the sound or lights, was the only one laughing at the jokes so he was really annoying. The teenager that was Buddy the Elf stuffed his tights, and it looked awful! Somebody must have said something to him because after intermission the stuffing was gone. Not good! The seating is also horrible. Almost every chair on every row is at the exact same height. So if you have kids they probably wont be able to see if you are not first row.The popcorn bags are getting popped in two microwaves that are in the same room as the stage and the audience. How about getting a little bit of credibility and investing in a popcorn machine, and a separate room for the concession stand.Other people have said that this is like a high school production. I would say it doesnt even reach that level. Not trying to be mean to the kids, but some adult is making money off of them and not guiding them to do a good job.Snacks are expensive. No parking. Will try not to go again.

Last night my wife and I attended Jekyll & Hyde the Musical and I must say the sound system was absolutely terrible! I was in the third row and struggled to understand what was being said. It seemed like some microphones worked OK (although full of static with the occasional squeal) but others didnt seem to work at all. Also, forehead microphones are very distracting, I spent half of the play wondering what was on the middle of Jekyll/Hydes forehead. I later found out it was a microphone that is supposed to be placed right at the hairline, not in the middle of the forehead. My wife and I saw Avenue Q at the Cameo and it was wonderful! I regret to say that this visit was less than stellar and we left during intermission due to the technical issues and not understanding what was going on. I know that a trained monkey can identify whats going on in Jekyll and Hyde, but thats beside the point. I wasnt able to get into the play because I was constantly distracted by sound issues and forehead microphones.I agree that the seats are horrible. After about 30 mins your butt falls asleep and youre constantly squirming and looking at the program to see when intermission is coming.I think this was an isolated event as Avenue Q was great. My wife and I will return for the next play they put on, I hope they figure out their sound system by then..

Attended Cameos showing of White Christmas on NYE this week. We are from out of town and love supporting local theater when we travel. I must say.... this was one of the worst small town theater productions Ive seen - it was like a high school play. The icing on the cake was the sound crew in the back audibly laughing. Dont waste your money.

Went to this theater to see Ave Q. The production was perfect! The actors were all amazing, the sound system was great and the play was excellent! My husband and I had a great time. The drinks at the bar were great! The bartender mixed up, probably the best, vodka sour Ive had in a long time and she used Grey Goose, too (top shelf)! The snacks and drinks were all at a very reasonable price. Service was fast and friendly. Now for the bad: Finding parking was really difficult, its good we got there earlier otherwise we would have to pay to park $10 - $15 across the street. The theater was very warm and Im usually very cold natured. I bring a jacket everywhere I go. The temp was a little uncomfortable for me, I know my husband was really sweating it out. The seats are God-awful. Theyre just like regular restaurant chairs held into rows by a length of PVC pipe and zip-ties. There was no incline from the stage like there are at other theaters or movie theaters. Instead its this mass of chairs on a flat surface. So if anyone sits in front of you, your line of vision is automatically obstructed. We had these really great seats when we got there when a family of hippos decided to sit in front of us. I couldnt see the stage AT ALL. Just 4 layers of neck fat. I had to ask to be moved and all they had was seating waaaay farther back then we originally were. It was worth the move because the view was far away but still better. Unfortunately, despite how nice this theater is, the seats are a selling point for me. Until they get typical theater stadium seating I probably wont come back. Which is really a travesty because the actors are so talented and everything else otherwise is amazing. I just dont see the point in spending so much money to see the back of someones head for 2 hours.

My husband and I went for the first time last week to see Avenue Q. It was disappointing because the area around the theater and the theater itself seem like part of San Antonio history. This means that I would expect the theater to be kept in its utmost condition in order to preserve the areas popularity. However, the theater seats are just random seats attached together with a cable tie. Because of this setup we were sitting together very close to the strangers next to us, which made it uncomfortable. This was made worse by the fact that it was very hot inside the theater. I kept fanning my face with the play booklet because it was so hot. I just hope that in the future they are able to remodel the theater to inject some life into it. Sadly, we will not be going back there until then.

We had a groupon and were at the theater by 7:00 and glad we were early. Took a while to get tickets verified and assigned a seat. We saw Kats. It was very well done and afterwards were greeted by the cast. They were delightful and accommodating to us. Must attend event in San Antonio!

Against my better judgement, went to Evil Dead: The Musical with my husbands co-workers. For those of you wondering, do not waste your time or money. The doors didnt open up until 8pm, then we stood in the hot and crowded tiny lobby waiting some more, even though we had pre-purchased tickets. Took forever to start the play and within the first 10 minutes I wanted to leave. I can sum up the entire play by just saying it was mostly one sophomoric double entendre after another with lame sophomoric jokes in between that. It didnt help that I couldnt enjoy myself anyway since I got targeted in my face with a super-soaker gun full of fake blood (because I had a jacket that I was trying to protect my face with) and my eyes are STILL burning from it. At least it washed out of my clothes. Did not wash out of my husbands clothes and it was soaked through to underware. Had to scrub the hair, face, arms and neck as soon as we got home... it will be a while to get it out of my ears. Our evening ended right there. Literally soaked, ruining the plans for the rest of the evening. Ya, Im thrilled. The story line was poorly written. One actor didnt even know his lines. The only positive was the three girls that sang had nice voices. The one girl that played the little sister was truly a great actress and played both parts very well and she was very believable.Vulgar, blasphemous, sophomoric, tasteless, crass, overdone, distasteful, lewd, profane, off-color, rude and excessively ribald is how I would describe it politely.
