A lot of fun! Safe from COVID? GOD NO but hello it is a bar and people are drunk and happy and not thinking smart in the moment. But we managed to stay healthy and had a FANTASTIC time listening to the piano players and the servers are fast, hard workers and entertaining!

Visited this restaurant-bar for lunch. The menu is not that great compared to other similar competitors. I ordered Shrimp sandwich. Wasn’t what I expected.Staff were friendly, nice and responsive.Saturday noontime they had live music in their outside seating area which was nice.

Just go somewhere else. As a Louisiana native, I tried to go here for my bachelorette party at the start of the night. The guy at the door was very unaccommodating to our party, so we just left. It certainly caught me off guard, as I’ve never had such a poor experience before I even walked into the place. If you’re wanting to enjoy a special night out, we ultimately had a great time at Howl at the Moon.

Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Went for lunch. Sat outside which was lovely. Menu has lots to choose from. Drinks are really good. Prices where great for lunch. You get alot of food! Very good music playing. Would go back if in the area. Fun place!!!!!

I dont come through San Antonio often, but when I do I always try to stop and grab a bite here. Excellent food and even better service, for a superb value. My wife and I got the OBrien Burger and its easily one of the best burgers weve ever had. We will definitely be coming here again in the future.

Ordered grilled salmon - that one was the best one Ive ever tried. My husband had blackened ribeye steak - he loved it too. The waiting time was about 15-20 min. Would definitely come back

Closed on a Saturday (August 1st)..... recording says theyre open and their website says theyre open. But theyre not.... stupid.

This place is located in the Alamo plaza. The bartender was so nice. We arrived 10 minutes after the lunch specials were over and he gave us lunch prices. The steak and vegetables were delicious. My cheeseburger was huge. Would definitely go again.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Sign on the patio said seat yourself, so Mom and I did. Sat there through three songs being played by a local musician. Watched as other people sat down and were waited on. Staff was so inept that they never noticed or acknowledged us the entire time we were there... even when we left. Went to another local place with live music and much much better service. Stick to going to the original Pat OBriens, not the San Antonio one!

Food and service were excellent. The waitress/bartender was very attentive and very nice. It has been my wife’s favorite place we have eaten at so far.

Fantastic place with the friendliest atmosphere! We were only in San Antonio for the day and so glad we stopped into this place! Food was great! The highlight was Jessi! She is the nicest person. We had the absolute pleasure of Jessi looking after us, she was just the best, so nice and friendly! It was like chatting with a friend that we’ve known for ages! Stopped by here after walking the River Walk and needed to get out of the heat and have a cold drink. Now Ive been to Pat OBriens in NOLA and loved the food atmosphere. Once you walk in towards the back there is live music on the patio area, there is seating inside the main area and seating near the patio inside by the bar.Service is prompt and friendly, nice friendly patrons and easy to talk too.Drinks are reasonable priced...the Hurricane Drink is huge, strong, so be careful, its only $9.50 but worth it. Coronas $5, great prices on food and absolutely fantastic. Me and wife both had the The New Orleans Trinity (cup of red beans rice, jambalaya & Chicken gumbo) all savory with full flavors; our favorite was the Chicken Gumbo.... a must try.I would recommend stopping in here for the the taste of good NOLA Cajun food. Very reasonably priced.

Great place and great atmosphere! Try going during the day for great day drinking and live music (happy hour 4-7)! Court yard is nice with a little fountain in the back. The staff is very friendly and the food is good. It’s easy to walk past because it’s tucked away. Highly recommend!

Pat OBriens should earn negative stars but it does have its redeemable qualities. First the good. Nice open area for sitting outdoors. With a fountain and live music, it takes you away from the hustle of the city. The food on my couple visits was good and have no complaints there.The bad. While there, both times, the servers (then eventually the managers) told our party we cannot order off the kids menu for any member of our party over the age limit they set. Then explicitly told me we make no money selling off the kids menu. Really? Then why do you have a kid menu? I degress. After being told we couldnt order what we needed. We decided to not go back to a place that has no interest in accommodating our unfortunate need for particular food and smaller portions.Over all, if you dont have anybody trying to order off the kids menu this place isnt that bad, theyre just not very accommodating to people who try to change their standards.

If you want a fun little day drinking spot on the river this is the place. Try their signature cocktails which are mixed in with plenty of alcohol. If you can’t decide on a drink then go for the sampler. It’s meant for 3 or more people, but is fun to sip on. Don’t forget to get some munchies from the menu too. It’s a short walk to the Alamo from their front door.

Its a must to get their hurricane specialty drink. Ive had many hazey nights after a few of those so attempt with caution

Really awesome place! The drinks, food, service, music, and atmosphere were all great! I’m so glad I ended up coming here to celebrate my birthday. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in San Antonio!

Crawl with Us event for St Patick Day was a total disaster, we bought tickets for 25 dollars, and supposedly it includes food, but we didnt have snacks or something to eat, the staff people didnt explain us anything, and nobody knew what to do. I want my money back!

Terrible service. Waited around while staff just talk to them selves. After 15 minutes got up and left. Don’t bother. A lot of other great places around to put up with bad service.

This place had a buzz to it. Live music. An open courtyard area. Folks talking. A fun vibe. My wife likes decent wine but the had very poor options. Also the place seems poorly maintained and not very clean.

Food is great with some foods I havent thought of. The host made the experience even more exiting and not to mention the communication between them that just changed the atmosphere into something like no other. The food here just made me want to eat even more even though I couldnt fit anymore food in my mouth. So 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone I meet as a must go to in S.A.

Unless you like bartenders coughing on your drinks, dont go here. My husband and I decided to have a drink at Pats whilst visiting San Antonio on a Tuesday night, and I really wish we hadnt. After stepping up to the bar the lady behind it did not give even a simple hello just what do you want very rudely. We asked for our drinks and instantly after she held her hand out to gesture for our IDs. We handed them over and she begun to make our drinks. Firstly, she made my gin and soda; after making the drink she picked up a lime wedge and threw it into my drink, splashing us in the process with no apologetic manner. The lime landed on the gross, uncleaned counter and I ended up just throwing it away instead of challenging this intimidating bartender. After all this, she made my husbands whiskey and coke drink; right after making it SHE COUGHED RIGHT ON IT. Not deliberately. But she coughed and did not cover her mouth that was directly on the drink. At this point, we agreed to just pay, throw the drinks away and leave. Such a shame as it seemed like a really nice atmosphere but the staff were just abysmal.

Food was hot and good. Their signature hurricane taste more like a Capri Sun from both sides of the bars nothing like they used to make or maybe they were just short on their liquor tonite. The staff was unfriendly but did their job.

Really had the Nola feel they were going for! The drinks I ordered were delicious.

I was really excited to go here. Had heard great things. We got all dolled up and headed for dinner, the alligator poboy sounded so good and theyre open late...THEN we get there and find out the kitchen closed at 9...we arrived at 930. Why advertise that your open late if youre whole restaurant is not open late. Then to make it worse the live music was awful. I couldbt finish my drink fast enough and get out of there.

Im from the Gulf Coast and have been to the New Orleans location before. This location was just as awesome. It probably has the best drinks for the price anywhere around the River Run area. Food and service were excellent too.

We recently spent the weekend in San Antonio, and the valet at our hotel highly recommended Pat OBriens as a must go place near the river. He was absolutely correct. The atmosphere was vibrant and fun, the bartenders were friendly, and the drinks were cold and delicious. Its definitely on our list of places to come back to next time were in San Antonio.

After visiting Pat O Briens in New Orleans last fall, I was excited to visit the San Antonio location. While smaller, it had the same style, atmosphere, wonderful drinks (hurricanes for only $9.25!), attentive servers, and many talented musicians. For the most part, the pianists and guitarists were charismatic, entertaining, and very talented. However, there was one musician (whose name I found out was Greg) that was incredibly distasteful; while on stage, he spewed misogynistic, homophobic, and other distasteful material that left me appalled. His dueling pianists also appeared frustrated, as they did not participate in his bigotry, and did not banter friendly with him as they had with other dueling partners. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Pat O Briens, but this pianist left me disappointed, and I hope appropriate actions are taken so that he does not tarnish the otherwise wonderful reputation of Pat O Briens.

I wasnt too sure about this place because most bar/restaurant establishments have terrible food and drinks. Im not sure if it was because I had such low expectations of the place that I was pleasantly surprised. The hurricane was good (a bit strong for me but but Im a weak sauce when it comes to alcohol ). What I loved? The Cancun Shrimp with the fruit Salsa! When I go back Im definitely stopping by again. It did take a while to be served but other than that the service was good.

The bouncer pulled out his pepper spray and fired it into a crowd of people completely unnecessarily, or way too early. Not even at the bar and standing far away, got hit in the face with it ruining my night completely. Unfortunate.

I went here for my bachelorette party and had an amazing time! Graig and the other piano players were amazing and my time here was super fun. This is by far the best bar I have been to.

Bland food, mediocre drinks & horrible service.. Definitely my last visit to any Pat OBriens! So many better Cajun restaurants.. dont waste your time.. maybe the dueling piano bar is the only reason people come here...

We found a Groupon for this place. Unfortunately the kitchen closed at 9pm when we got there so we could not use it. We still enjoyed a few beers and the decor of stines on the ceiling. Staff was friendly. Great patio.

Not that they care since no rating has a reply with either a thanks or an apology but heres my scoop. Just ate there this evening. Was only unhappy with how our ticket was handled.. All the food and service was satisfactory except the blackened catfish. It was visibly undercooked. I didnt want another one.. Naturally, Id expect to not pay for something that was not eaten. They still charged and we paid. The server was busy and didnt feel like making a scene. Likely not going to eat here again. I dont expect you to follow my lead but check that catfish.

Hurricanes to go not a thing at this location. Rude bartenders will have no problem letting you know. Save it for the real location and dont waste your time on this venue.

WoW, WORST So Called Service! Had to order & get our own drinks! Been to every Patty O’s & this is Beyond the Worst!

This place has a cool vibe and is located in Alamo Plaza. Its a great starting point for the First Friday Pub Runs but also a great place to visit any day of the week.I havent eaten here, but I have witnessed friends eating crawfish etouffeé, gumbo, red beans and rice, and the usual Cajun fare. They also have burgers, salads, and grilled chicken.It is two stories tall with several different areas to hang out in, but my favorite place is the courtyard - especially if you are with a group. There is plenty of room.I think domestic beer is $5 but you must remember, these are downtown/tourist area prices. Service can be spotty - especially trying to get drink refills and also closing out your tab.The service brings them down to 3 stars. Sorry Pat!

Visiting San Antonio my fiance & I ran into this place not knowing exactly what it was. With pianist playing any and every song you request, drinks, food and great staff. This place was simply an over all great place! We will definitely go back. A+++

Wife and I were excited for this after visiting the New Orleans location. The hurricanes were just as delicious, but we could not get any table service at this location. The musicians at this location spent about 45 minutes plugging in amp cords and such so I cant attest to any of the music.

Loved the outdoor patio, the music by Dog of Panic from Austin was great.

Environment was nice. Kick you out the door at 1:30-1:40 on weekends though. Google says they close at 2am. Bar says they close at 1:40am. Who is correct?

4stars only because we didnt eat. The Bloody Mary was spot on. Just the right amount of spice and kick. We were there before lunch but the crowd was growing quickly. Only the car in the rear was open and out bartender was helpful and quite polite.

Delicious food, great prices (especially for lunch), really accommodating staff, nice outdoor seating. We had Quest as our server today and she was an absolute pleasure, so sweet, helpful, and friendly. I would come back just to see her again! They let me customize my order no problems and we received quick, attentive service.

Had a gentleman singing he was very good. Had a great omelet brunch with my granddaughter and Rosanne. It was Grandmas day out with our beautiful granddaughter.

Loud and Festive!!! Pat OBriens has a New Orleans feel to it all! It has live music playing out in the patio. A chill, relaxed ambiance. I would recommend getting all your traditional hurricane like drinks here and definitely hit this place up for happy hour if your looking for something lively. Next time Ill look forward to eating their Cajun entrees that Ive heard so much about! Stick to all their Cajun/Creole dishes that they specialize in grin emoticon

This is an interesting place. On the first Friday of each month, this is where the Pub Run begins. There is a piano bar area, an open atrium which often features a human with a guitar and a microphone, and a club type space upstairs complete with fog machine. You ought to feel comfortable in any one of the three sections but feels odd as it feels like an inconsistent mashup rather than a sure of itself location. Start here early, find do what you like, and go to that type of place elsewhere downtown or what you want to do next. Probably the place to go if you dont know what you want.

The food was just okay. The service was almost non existent. The patio dining was the best part of it. Prices were almost reasonable though. The dining experience may have been better inside.

Walked in once. Sat down. Waited 15 minutes and never got served. Ive never been back since.Whoever operates this establishment needs to do something with the old cowboy who berates tourists and pedestrians as they walk by. Half pound burgers, folks! I hear this every day when I walk by. Same old tired jokes and rude comments to bystanders. You can get any old man to sit in a stool, invite guests to the bar/restaurant, and feed pigeons and they will still do it better than that guy.

Food was mediocre at best, especially for the price. Bathrooms are dirty. Celery was completely wilted and should have been thrown out days ago. So many good places on the river walk, take a pass on Obriens.

I came to this location while visiting San Antonio. I had fun and the drinks were amazing.

So I had my wedding reception here and it was great. The event manager did a spectacular job setting us up with a menu, getting us our space, and working with us on our setup. That was in 2014.Then, a few weekends ago (during Alamo Comic-con 2016) we walked into our favorite downtown spot for a poor boy and some beers. We asked to be seated and were told sit anywhere so we found a table and had a seat and waited. And waited. And waited some more. Three or four staff members walked by, looked at me, and continued on as if they had decided that someone else would bother with me. Well, nobody did, so after about 15 minutes, we left completely ignored by the staff. In fact, when we walked out, a manager was having a conversation with a server right next to us and still said nothing. Way to disappoint, Pat-Os... way to disappoint.

The hurricanes are delicious but deadly! The piano bar is always a good time, the live band is always on point. The whole place is awesome, its always a great time

Popped in for lunch but the live music was so loud in the courtyard, we couldnt hear ourselves think. So we went inside but the inside had a bad smell. So we left.
