Cool place to meet and catch up with coworkers. I had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here. The place has a great atmosphere.

My first time to Jazz TX.The amazing atmosphere, good acoustics, beautiful ambience lighting, savory food, unique drink, fantastic services, all the best for a weekend night. The band is way much better than the a few jazz clubs i went to in New Orleans! The surprise, at 12:30 am one of their servers took the stage and sang a few songs! Talking about talent! She should’ve gone to American Got Talent show.

Love this place. Great live jazz, and what an ambiance. If you like jazz, you will love this place. It feels like you are going into a speak easy as you walk down some stairs in the Pearl area of San Antonio, TX. You just dont need a password to get in!

This was a first time visit during Happy Hour. The Jazz band was great, and my meal was absolutely wonderful. Kudos to Chef Ortiz! Also to Ariel my server for such great service. The ambiance is really beautiful. This is the perfect place to kick back after a long day. Enjoy!

Music was lively. atmosphere is quaint. service [with libby] was superior, the food yummy and the bathrooms were clean and roomy.

Fantastic atmosphere and intriguing ambiance being in a basement! Loved the live jazz show and will definitely be back for more!While quite delicious, admittedly I feel the food is a little overpriced... Particularly the burger not coming with fries and the a la carte fries being $7 I expected a much larger serving.The peach cobbler and pecan pie are amazing finishes to your night, perfect to share too!All in all, it wasnt enough to deter me from returning but I will definitely try something else next time.

This place is a true underground jazz club, as in you really must go downstairs to find it. Once inside past the dark curtains, you enter a world of music, cuisine, alcohol, and entertainment. I throughly enjoyed my house pasta with shrimp and the attentive staff made the dinner so enjoyable. I had the pleasure of listening to the Dirty River Dixie Band, and the atmosphere was just dark enough to be cozy. I’ll definitely return for more of this.

I had a really good time here. I reserve online for the 8:30pm show on a Thursday night. I arrived early but they were able to seat us. The table was a great location. Drinks were ok, a bit pricey but they were good. Had the queso and chips, it was pretty good. Music was on point. They did not disappoint. Overall great experience.

Came here while celebrating thanksgiving with my family. It was such a wonderful experience! Not only are the food and drinks absolutely stellar, but the atmosphere is terrific! The night we went, a jazz band was performing which really aided in conversations for dinner. On top of this, it was beautiful to see so many people congregating simply to appreciate jazz! I will definitely be returning in my next trip to San Antonio.

My husband and I went to check this place out on a Tuesday afternoon. From the moment we walked in, we both fell in love with the atmosphere. It was a quite the experience.. from the house band that was playing (very good), small romantic tables with candles lite, to the drink selection. Truly just an amazing place for a date night. We will be back very soon.

This an intimate place to eat, drink, and listen to live jazz. A total of about 50 table seats and some seating at the bar. Lighting is always dim in the evenings which adds to the ambiance, just dont expect bright light fixtures. Definitely not uncommon for a weekend night to become standing room only so be sure to book a reservation if you plan on coming on a busy day. The food is all simple but well executed. Cocktails are tasty with plenty of alcohol. Food is somewhat pricey but considering the local area and the live music its a good value and tastes great. Doc Watkins plays here often and as the owner of the place its great to see the passion he has for the music and his establishment to enjoy it to its fullest extent. Highly recommended for a date night or just to enjoy some jazz.

Very nice restaurant, great band and good food. However, they run out of food quick which is why this didnt get a 5 star review. Our reservations were for 8 PM, when we got to ordering our food they had ran out of a lot of items on the menu, including the chefs special. The band also took a 45 minute break, it would be nice if at least some music was played meanwhile.

Loved the atmosphere and the music. The bartenders were very knowledgable. The music was just the right volume to still be able to hold a conversation.

Fabulous place! Great music! Great food!! Not a bad seat in the house!Unless of course youre seated behind the 3 most self absorbed obnoxious people in all of San Antonio!! They werent there to enjoy music. They were there to see if they could have the loudest conversations known to mankind seated only inches away from each other.Mission ACCOMPLISHED!!They were louder than the band!! (including horns)!We were trying to see if they would leave before us...they won.We couldnt take any more of theyre continuous screams to one another.

Reserve a table for sure! So worth it. Gets packed for the shows. Drinks and food selection were great! Shows were phenomenal. It is a bit loud so if you have sensitive ears, consider light ear plugs.

Venue is part of The Pearl development. The location in a basement is reminiscent of the speakeasy bars during Prohibition.The food is very adequate, drinks are reasonably priced, service was excellent. The jazz sets were performed by very talented musicians. This is the reason one comes to Jazz Texas, great talent performing effortlessly.The overall experience would be good even without the food service but enhanced because of it availability.We visit this venue every time we come to San Antonio since our home is elsewhere.The Pearl in San Antonio is a real destination in itself.

The jazz show was nice. We were some of the only people who chose to eat here AND see the show. Probably should have eaten somewhere else and then just had drinks since the food was just so-so.

Jazz, TX has always been one of the place that I consider a crown jewel of San Antonio. Think two-top tables a la La La Land, underground, with regular jazz artists on the latter part of the week. Better yet, the $15-20 cover reduces down to $5 after midnight. Highly recommend that experience for a date night or even a friend get together.

We were lucky enough to experience Valentines Day here. We had a 4 course meal and entertainment provided by Doc Watkins. The food was great, the performance was amazing, and the environment was enjoyable. Half way through we were already planning our next visit. Would absolutely recommend it.

Awesome club. Great upscale menu. Chips and queso is excellent and the burger is amazing. Happy hour pints on draft $5. Little to no cover for a reservation. Ambiance really sets the mood perfectly with the dim lighting and candle lit tables. Doesnt get much better for a romantic evening with your lady. Go see Doc Watson. He kills it on the piano!

Went to the 5:30 show on a Wednesday and we were blown away. Just a piano and bass but they read the room perfectly and kept us all engaged. Two hours flew by. Good drinks and food as well.

If you like Jazz you will like Jazz,Tx. This club is located underground which adds to the speak easy ambiance. Always make reservations even during the free seating happy hour Monday thru Thursday 5:30 to 7:30. Otherwise you might not get in. They only allow people in to fill seats available no just hanging out, even at the bar. We had dinner and drinks. Loved it, we will be back!

Love The Emma, and have stayed a few times.The Farmers market on weekends is so much fun.The Pearl bar has a wonderful Ambience! Try and visit once a month, although I live in Houston.The Jazz club basement use to be a place to enjoy music and dance. I say use too, because the last few times I’ve gone, it’s been overtaken by a dance group of about 10 students, that don’t care if they take over the floor, run into you, step on you, with plunges, and spins!Designate a night for these rude show offs...please!!!!

Cool jazz venue, well worth seeing an act at.Not sure what kind of acts come through though. There are great restaurant and bar options outside as well. The local house act was entertaining, so drop by if you are into jazz.

First let me say the music was great, however there was a table next to us that was talking, loudly, very loudly, to the point where the musicians were looking at them. At least 5 complaints from different tables went out and a manager came ove 3 times and they berated him and he left and did nothing about it. If you cant control your atmosphere you shouldnt be in that position.

This place is like a little secret, not a lot of advertisements. Was great a live jazz show. A nice place to get expensive drinks lol, but your paying for the show Id say, so its worth it. A must, you need to go once, and then again and again, but not to much because space is limited and I want a table!

OMG I have been talking about this place to Everyone! I visited for the 1st time 2 weeks ago for a birthday party and told my BF where hes taking me next time we go out! The BEST Irish coffee in town!!! Not on the menu but I highly recommend it! The house pasta and brussel sprouts were awesome! Music was phenomenal and it was just the opening act. Please check this place out! A true hidden gem of the pearl!!

Throw back to the speakeasies of yesteryear, this basement jazz club is nothing short of perfect. Its an intimate venue with a large bar, great food menu and very attentive wait staff. Oh, and the live music isnt bad either. Do make a reservation because the early weekend shows sell out quick and the 12:30 shows are usually packed.

Enjoyed the early show on a Wednesday with Three Swings and a Miss. Great service from Libby, delicious brisket tacos corn fritters and pecan pie, and fantastic music in a neat setting.

As a huge jazz fan I had been itching to go here for a year now. I live about 150 miles west, so when the opportunity arose I hurried over. A festival at the Pearl led me to be late to my reservation, but the hostess was very nice and I was seated quickly right by the stage. I tried the brisket tacos and they were very tasty. A gin and tonic and some bossa nova and I was on cloud 9. You can get addicted to this place.

Great live music, unique cocktails, savory food, and promote friendly service. Full Bloom drink made with infused gin, omg amazing! And the tender quail with side salad offered under small plates was big on flavor. I went to the 5pm Saturday show just to check it out. Im glad I did and will definitely be back.

This place is amazing! Very friendly staff. The band is awesome and the music is excellent! Good wine and good food. My wife and I started with the quail twists, I highly recommend that as an appetizer. My main course was fried chicken, it had a sweet breading which was a bit of a surprise to me. I very much enjoyed it. My wife order a house salad, it was good. We will absolutely go back. It is best if you reserve a table ahead of time, but this visit we were able to walk in and get a table. Only stood for about 10 min. You NEED to check this place out. Great date spot and good spot for a small group of friends as well.

I loved this place! The drinks are top shelf the food looked like it was to die for. Definitely get a reservation because me and my date didnt and we were suck standing next to the wall for a while. Nonetheless Im planning on making much more trips here. The vibe is definitely cool calm collected yet fun and interesting. Its difficult to find if youve never been there its underneath the food court building next to the larger area of terff/grass at the pearl.

What an incredible opportunity. Down in the basement, dark and small and noisy and bustling with activity, it was an experience I will never forget. All of the servers were incredible and were constantly covering the entire place in a kind of zone defense so nobody every went more than a few minutes without new drinks, refilled water, etc. The music was like nothing Ive ever heard. Such a great band, such incredible food, and such a unique ambiance ... there is literally no comparison to the experience we had here. A definite MUST for anyone in the area.

Amazing jazz band. Its a little hard to find but ask a local and theyll point it out. Its in the middle of the pearl next to a the little restaurant market, take the elevator down and ur there. Great prices, amazing service.. loved this place def would recommend to all to visit.

Its a good place to socialize with a group, good pregame place especially but if youre looking for a dance floor dont come here which is kind of unfortunate because the music will make you want to. Pretty classy, crowd isnt bad. Youll have fun. Drinks are a bit pricey as well and there is no cover.

My wife and I went here for the Valentines Day show this year and let me tell you, Doc Watkins is no joke. He operates a very fine establishment that is absolutely one of San Antonios best hidden gems of the Pearl District. Located in the basement under the old bottling plant, where any jazz place should be in my opinion, you walk into a different time period as you see a small, dim light space filled with classic neon and instruments. Literally this place does not have much room for tables so you have to book this in advance but it makes the experience much more intimate. Musically, it was one of the best live performances Ive ever been to. To be able to pay some small cover of $30 or so and get a great show is unheard of. To top that, the food was great and hand crafted cocktails are perfectly done here. We absolutely will be back here and I advise anyone to at least swing by here for a drink, the tunes go far into the night. Cheers.

Hip Jazz venue. Drinks are a little pricey but not unlike similar venues. Unfortunately the night we went, they were out of several beer selections. Not sure how that happens on a Saturday night.

Synergy - the most amazing display of Synergy I have ever seen in a business. Selena was incredible from responding to my email to Ariels amazing service. But it never stopped, the ENTIRE staff was mind blowing. If every business provided service like this, life would be amazing. The culture in this location is mind blowing. Obviously the food was amazing, the music was amazing that goes w/o saying, the Service is what needs to be pointed out. Thank you so much for setting the bar.

Love this place! Its everything you want a jazz club to be--cozy, romantic, and good acoustics. Its also wonderful they often have an early show (5:30-7:30)--perfect when you want to have dinner with some good vibes. My only complaint was the hard seats; it would be nice if the owner would put some padding on those wooden bistro chairs. Other than that, a great night out; a lovely addition to The Pearl!

Today my husband and me went to have fun and we just order a beer and we were listening good music you know trying to have fun...... but nooooo suddenly a giant rat was running from one corner to the other and I’m not kiddingGIANT..... so we just couldn’t order some food if that animal was running in front of people I just can’t imagine what’s happening behind the kitchen.Very disappointed ️

Great place if you want to enjoy live music and food. Wonderful for a date night or to treat yourself after a long week. Only complaint is that it was too loud to talk casually with friends and we almost had to shout at each other, but hey thats the live music though

Great food, drinks and atmosphere! Chef Lorenzo inspires some good Texas Southern food such as Mac and Cheese with Rattle snake sausage, quail wings, and tacos! This place gets packed so make sure to reserve or come early. Music changes depending on night so could be Salsa, country, but most often Jazz. Definitely worth a visit!

The musicians were entertaining and kept you pulled in and wanting more. The service was 5 star and so was the food. Check out the garlic shrimp bruschetta! Unlike any Ive ever had and delicious! The drinks were also strong and well made. Theres a $10 cover for the 830pm show but not the first one. No live entertainment between 730pm and 830pm. Highly recommend this place!

The music is undeniably first rate, and that is an understatement to say the least. The service is wonderful, the food is clearly outstanding, and the band... Doc Watkins was a gracious host, as was Pierre Poree. They made for a memorable 50th birthday celebration.
