My 6 and 4 year olds now have a good understanding of what happened during those 13 days. I was able to explain the different styles of guns, swords and knives to the kids. They loved the iPod stories and actors. Well done. The Night at the Museum program is very well done. Great banter with the characters and lots of information. Dont miss adding this to your trip

I was really impressed with all of the things they had on display and the story they told. If you are into Texas history from its Origins as the Nation of Texas this is very interesting. They had Santa Annas uniform, and the sword that he surrendered to Sam Houston at San Jacinto. It was a very interesting display. It was nice that they also showed that the tejanos were very instrumental in the Texas Revolution from Mexico. Tejanos where the Mexicans that has lived in Texas, some for Generations by the time of the Texas Revolution from Mexico. My only disappointment was that I was hoping to see a very big diorama showing the Battle of the Alamo. I had talked to the person that made the diorama about a year-and-a-half ago and was expecting it to be in the mall because it was too big to fit on the Alamo grounds. I was told the exhibition that they showed, for the Battle of Texas was supposed to be on the first floor, when they moved it to the basement they could not get the diorama down to it. I hope somebody steps up and gets them the room on the first floor to display that diorama. It too would be really worth seeing.

This should be a free museum. The artifacts are kind of cool that displays were very lame. Think the best part was the and. As someone else said theres nothing immersive or interactive about it. Its way overpriced. The staff is very friendly And the gift shop is a typical gift shop. Dont take young kids thry will be bored to death.

This is a MUST SEE in San Antonio. It was absolutely amazing and everyone who worked there were so friendly and helpful. We also did their Night at the Museum and it was my favorite thing we did while in San Antonio. It was so interesting and informative. And when my daughter got scared at the end and was outside crying all of the actors and actress came out to personally check on her.

Quite contrary to what is implied on the website and marketing materials, this place is simply a self-guided museum. There is no show, no performers, nothing exciting. There is no experience. Granted its full of interesting history and artifacts, but its in the basement of a mall, dead, quiet, isolated, no staff, and nothing to do but slowly wander an empty museum setting.

We attended the “Night at the Museum”. Not only was it entertaining, but it was highly educational as well. This was the highlight of our trip, according to our 7 year-old daughter. The price was very reasonable and my husband and I especially loved viewing the original artifacts on display. The staff was friendly and well-informed and the performance was great! We plan to attend the daytime version on our next trip. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to San Antonio!

Our family really enjoyed this place. The history and artifacts are amazing. The only reason I rated it four stars instead of five stars is because, even though you purchase tickets, you have to pay an extra five dollars to get the audio tour and make sure you have headphones. Otherwise, it wont let you listen to it and youve wasted $4.99 (which we did). Without the audio tour get ready to read. Without reading the informational posts on the walls, I could see someone saying it wasnt worth the cost. There is SO much neat information if your willing to take the time and read it. We went here through purchasing a pogo pass. I would be willing to go again for $40 for our family of four vs what it would cost right now ($68). The almost $20 an adult regular price is just a little too much. I think if they lowered the price to even $8 for a child and $15 for adults during the off season they would get a lot more traffic. Now, with all that in mind, our family really did enjoy this place. It made the Alamo real to our girls (ages 6 & 8).

Too much walking for the info you get. I thought it would be like a movie or something. It was just a long series of rooms containing information about the Alamo and some artfacts. There was a video at the end but it was just about Texas overall. If you really are into Alamo stuff you will probably like the exhibit but I think most people would be better off saving their time and money.

New since we were here in 2016. We visited the Alamo but there is so much to that story. This experience gave us a better understanding of why US folks were here in the first place. Also, why there was fighting between those in Texas and Santa Anna. Lots of original, personal belongings of Houston, Santa Anna, etc. Worth the visit. And the bonus, it is all indoors!

We did the “Night at the Museum” tour. It was just our family of 4 and the night watchman. Excellent tour and the massive amount of artifacts is unbelievable. We highly recommend the night tour because the museum really comes alive. The only issue we faced was trying to figure out how to enter the building from Commerce street. The brochure only says the night tour is on Saturday night. Make sure to call and check because we did the tour on a Monday night.

Excellent re-enactment of the Alamo battle that sensitizes people to the common and uncommon actors of the battle. The night show is the best and starts around 6:30. Takes you around the museum in dark where the heroes emerge from dark and narrate what happened. You finally emerge through a staging of the war as a participant yourself. Don’t leave Alamo without seeing this—makes your experience complete. Very close to the riverside walk and The Alamo

The museum is interesting to walk through and read all about the history of the people at the Alamo. The five stars however are for the Night at the Museum show that they do every Saturday night. They have a night guard walk you through the museum as various characters come to life to tell you their stories. It concludes with having to run through replica rooms of the Alamo as reinacters of the soldiers are invading. It was a really fun experience and the highlight of our San Antonio trip.

I got this as part of a tour package that included the Alamo, mission san Jose, and missionconcepcion. It was cool but Im glad it was came with the tour and I dont drop 20 bucks on the ticket. The real Alamo and the missions are way better and this place just felt so fake. This extraction mainly involves walking through an exhibit showing guns, a bunch of stuff on Santa Anna, and the main 3 Alamo guys. The actors are placed at to sections. One where a soldier answers questions about Santa anna (weak) and the other were you are run through the Alamo as its happening. That part takes maybe 2 to 3 minutes and it kind of reminded me of those haunted houses during Halloween that you walk see a scene and then walk to the next one.

This was the biggest rip off my family has ever encountered on a vacation. There was nothing interactive or immersive about the Experience. We walked through an empty exhibit where there were come artifacts in cases, uniforms and mannequins dressed like Bowie, Travis and Crockett but no actors or enactments at all an a slide/movie wall that was an advertisement for Texas but not educational at all. I would give it minus stars if I could. The real Alamo is right around the corner, a much better experience and its free! At $20 a head dont waste your money. I have no idea how this got a rating of 4.7.

Mixed feelings on this. I just went to a museum for $8, and could have spent a half of a day there if I had the time. I went in to this expecting much more, as alluded to in the hand-out, and I saw people with kids cruise through it in maybe 15-20 minutes, which if you are the type who doesnt like to stop to read the fine print, it would very boring. I had to go slow to try to make it worth the twenty bucks. Understand, the artifacts they do have are amazing, (the rooms have artifacts around the walls, and it does have lots of empty space making up their claim for how big it is), but as for the whole package, the make your flag turned out to be a few computer terminals at a desk. If I hadnt been to the Alamo, I wouldnt have had a clue what the cannon on the ramp with the rope tied to it sitting in the middle of the floor was for. (You can pull it up the ramp (on its track) a few feet to the wheel stops to simulate the cannon that was moved into the church ruins. And after the artifacts, there is a walk through simulated Alamo ruins, with noises of battle (kinda) appropriate for all family members, nothing scary. Big gift shop at the end, with lots of merchandise.Lists for the artifacts in display cases are just on one side, often not lit, and small print. If there were more visitors, that would have been more of a problem, with two people trying to see the artifacts, it was a pain. Turned out it was an employee I was trying see around to share a list with, on one of the cases. None of the artifacts are labeled, just numbered, and you have to get very close to the list on the wall next to the case with the small print, to search the numbers for the item you are wondering about, and many of the artifacts arent numbered in order, the numbers on the artifacts are small, impossible to see from standing by the list, and some of the lists arent in order either. You have to walk back and forth trying to figure out which item is which. If you are a history nut, the artifacts they do have, are very nice.
