Man, this is a nice place to go! Honestly the only times weve been was during First Friday and it hasnt disappointed! Lots of vendors selling all kinds of neat stuff. There was a band playing while we walked around. Theres a nice bar inside selling all kinds of great drinks and beer! Blue Star Brewery is an awesome place. Love their tap room and they make great beer. The tap outside is nice and convenient outside where the band plays. Its right next to the river as well. Just a nice atmosphere and experience!

The apartment complex was an awesome place to live when Starr was the property manager. However, under its new property manager expect a series of delays, miscommunication, and power trips that has left a bad taste.Pros: Amazing views.Cons: Old appliances, cars getting towed, perpetual run around by property manager, increasing costs, and property manager stealing anything he doesnt like from the rooftop.

First Friday offers a variety of art forms to see. Pleanty of vendors selling items from designer dog collars, to original art work, you name it, they probably have it. A variety of beers, wine and drinks. Lots of muisc and live bands to listen to. Very crowded, so if crowds arent your thing, I suggest you go early.

Review №36

The location is close to the riverwalk which is cool but overall my experience was okay. It took them an hour and 15 minutes to get my order and the tea was old. The chicken fried chicken was delicious but the mashed potatoes and green beans were too plain which was very surprising. I had to add salt for some flavor. They offered organic beer and organic soda products which was cool but not for me.

The contemporary art museum was ok, but I felt like it needed more. It was only one floor with about five rooms, so I didnt feel like I got a lot out of my experience for what I paid for to go there. There was only one exhibit that was really in depth, the cloth composition notebooks, which were really fascinating, but everything else just simply didnt have enough room to be explored properly. The open air setup of the main hall really does them a disservice because they cant really hang a lot of art that way.Its pretty disappointing. But what I saw I liked for the most part.

Blue Star Contemporary is someplace I like to visit. The staff is courteous, exhibitions are varied and change fairly often.Blue star not only hosts exhibitions, but also on occasion, they host more interactive events. Events at which, one can create their own art!The picture is from the current exhibition, Funf ...and the artist for this piece, Jared Theis, provided this piece and a video in an adjoining room....Id call it..quite surreal.

Way too much fun for its own good! Be sure to check this area out first Friday or Second Saturday when artists come out showcasing their favorite works. For food, be sure and try the delicious Stella and then have a drink in the elusive Bar 1919. Take a nice walk in this branch of the river walk for a very local and intimate look at San Antonio. Blue Star is a great jumping off point for all of these great food, drink, and outdoor options.

This is a tremendous place to visit for a walk along the San Antonio River, for the variety of events at its many venues, such as Brick, or if you love art and dont mind a crowd for the many exhibit openings that occur on First Friday. Some of the events at Brick have a fee for the ticket, but for many others it is free to reserve a ticket or come and go as you please.

This is very cute, industrial looking place. It has a lot of space and it is right by the riverwalk so a nice walk after a meal is very possible. Its right by the Guenther House and an art gallery I believe so there are a lot of things to visit while youre down there. The food was good and is typically around $10-$15. Parking was a bit tight but that was the only thing that stopped this place from getting a 5 stars from me.
