Visited mission ridge on a Saturday evening for archery. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They explain beginners in detail so as to how to use a bow and arrow. We have to watch a video and sign a waiver before you can proceed to the range. If you want to save time you can watch this video and sign the waiver online before coming to the academy. You can bring your own equipment or rent it from the academy. The only thing that disappointed me was they gave only 4 arrows to each person.

Let me preface this by saying that Ive been to tons of shops throughout the country, and this weekend I received hands down the best customer service Ive ever had. I was helped by a young lady named Aurora and she was fantastic! I came in looking for something that was ended up being out of stock, but after a discussion with Aurora about alternatives and the pros and cons of each I walked out with something that was a much better fit than what I was originally looking for. She was extremely thoughtful and helpful and for that reason I will be making Mission Ridge my new go to shop, and I will be recommending them to everyone!

I was sold the wrong ammo after telling the clerk what type of gun I own. Tried to return the ammo and they would not refund my money stating ammo is considered used once it leaves the store. This notice is not posted, its Even though on the receipt it states that only firearms are not refundable. Their solution, try to sell me the correct ammo this time to get more money from me. Not ever going back there again for anything! Ill just go back to my regular range, A Place To Shoot, even though it is further away.

Took my 70-year-old father there to shoot today. As we were checking in I was told 25 per booth and to add my Dad was an additional 12.50 for his own booth. We brought our own Ammo and was there for less then an hour. Total cost $80.16When I complained about the cost to cashier He informed me he gave me a 50% discount plus he let me know that the facility was very costly.I can assure you it is a magnificent place and must be reserved for the elite or people that enjoy overpaying for a place to shoot. I’ll never step inside this over priced place again. To fancy for this ol Texan!

The best indoor range in San Antonio. Well lit with great modern firearms displayed as if it were an art gallery. Every interaction with staff is always pleasant. Just got kicked out of the store because I wouldn’t wear a mask. I told them I had a condition where my doctor has advised me to not wear a mask and they told me they did not care and I had to leave anyway. This place is a forearm store, but there is NOTHING patriotic about this establishment. Firearms dealer that doesn’t support the Constitution of the United States?! That sounds very dangerous to me. GREAT place to shoot indoors. Can be pricy considering the alternatives but they’re super friendly and professional. They work on an à la cart tab type system… You pay for your experience when you’re finished. We rented two pistols and bought three boxes of their ammo and one target, and it was a tad high at 94 bucks. But bring your own stuff and shoot for an hour, and two people can do that for about $50. Excellent ranges, plenty of room in the bays and helpful and present range officers make it a nice experience.

If you trying to break down pricing by comparing Mission Ridge to other gun ranges in the area, dont. There is not one to compare it to. And that is not taking away from any other facility. I love my Bullet Hole Range. My decision to open a family membership has been a great experience. The amenities at this facilities make it great experience for each family member. Makes it a whole lot easier to spend more time shooting. Walking through the doors you know there is plenty of operational cost to run this facility. That is the correct way to break down pricing and decide if your getting your moneys worth. You will find that the pricing is very reasonable after that. * This does not even include the excellent customer service. I damaged my firearm during disassembly yesterday and went to see if their gunsmith could help me. I was promptly greeted outside and informed there is a wait list to enter in order to manage social distance guidelines. After a ten minute wait I visited the gun smith. He was able to remove damaged parts and had spare ones available for me to take home and get me on my way. When it came time to settle my tab he let me know that there would be no charge as the spare parts were left over from an upgrade. And for the minor work he was happy to help in these times and said we appreciate your business and for being a member. I am writing this review in hopes it helps keep this business thriving and open in San Antonio so I can continue to enjoying my membership for years to come.

We went there to look at firearms after the easing of restrictions after the “Stay Home/Work Safe” order. We were met out front and told we had to have masks to enter..we left. I have been coming here since the first year it opened. Mainly because of the convenience of location to my home. The facility is state of the art and they have plenty of pistol lanes which is sometimes the drawback of many gun ranges. The staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. The price for lane rental is a little high but it is near my home and fully indoors so I do not have to worry about the weather.

Superb facility. I shoot here regularly to keep my muscle memory up to speed. Its pricy but you are getting what you pay for because literally every staff member is clearly an expert in firearms, safety, the industry, ammunition, and they even have an on-site gunsmith. You also pay for the awesome service: I was interrupted in the middle of a shooting session by a range master that informed my dad and I that we need to move to a different lane in a different zone, but that our range time would be free. With that kind of policy, I hope I get moved every day at the range. They have all the best guns, they even have full auto assault rifles, submachine guns (MP5 I think), and I dont remember if they had either a M249 light machine gun or what but they had a wall of lead sprayer for rent. Obviously you are gonna spend more time getting on the range and loaded up to shoot than actually firing the weapon because... Ammo isjt free like in back in the military and its gonna be gone in a couple of minutes. I doubt they would let people take 1000 rounds in there anyway because most untrained shooters would heat up the gun too much, damage the barrel, or God forbid have a high temp jam and cook-off (gun explodes). Anyway its awesome they have so many options. If I was rich I would move across the street and spend all day there

The range officers and instructors are very knowledgeable and willing to share their expertise with us every time we visit. Huge plus! The range desk staff and sales employees have much room for improvement. For example:We’ve confirmed multiple times with employees that as a member we get half off long range. On Tuesday we were told we wouldn’t be given that benefit because it’s “already” half off for non members with concealed license. So because we are members with concealed license we don’t get a “member” benefit? No where on the website does it say that members would not be eligible to get half off the lane fee on any discounted day... EDIT: Mission Ridge acknowledged our feedback very quickly and we sincerely appreciate how much they value their customers both members and non. Thanks Mission Ridge!

Everyone has been super helpful and willing to spend time tweaking my training. Don’t expect to be an expert shot after one session as this stuff requires frequent training. If you want to learn to shot correctly, book a session to get started. I requested to learn how to draw and double tap which requires muscle memory and frequent training. Ive had two seasons with Victor who is fantastic. The first one was total learning and the second 4 weeks later was for tweaking. UPDATE TO REVIEW:Kirk from Mission Ridge contacted me directly when he read my review below and he apologized sincerely on behalf of Mission Ridge and the manager. He assured me that their employee training and documentation was properly and thoroughly updated to make sure nothing of the sort happens ever again. What made me raise my review to 5 stars is the following: Kirk really went the extra MILES to compensate my visit and make sure that I feel comfortable enough to actually go back to Mission Ridge with my head high. He initially asked me if i could come in the next day to shoot for free but i was already back home in Canada. He then asked me for my address, telling me that he wants to work on some kind of package to compensate me for what happened.Kirk actually took the time to put together the following: free rental and gun range access, a very cool t-shirt, a prepaid $50 MasterCard to compensate what i paid during my visit, and most importantly an actual hand written letter by Kirk with apologies from Mission Ridge for this incident. (See pictures)This definitelymade me feel more than welcome for hopefully a second visit soon!************************************************I HAD INITIALLY CHOSE TO GO TO MISSION RIDGE AFTER THOROUGHLY CHECKING ONLINE WHAT RANGES ARE IN THE AREA. I FOUND OUT THAT MISSION RIDGE HAD THE HIGHEST RATINGS, THE MOST HIGH END FACILITY YOU CAN FIND, THE MOST VARIETY OF WEAPONS AND I DEFINITELY APPROVE THIS FROM MY VISIT!!! THEY PRETTY MUCH HAD ALL THE RIFLES AND PISTOLS I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO TRY. THE FACILITY IS HUGE, NEW, MODERN, AND CLEAN! THE ARCHERY RANGE IS PERFECT AND THE VIRTUAL GUN GAME IS ALSO ORIGINAL AND SURPRISINGLY REALISTIC (without the recoil)!Major point during my visit as well:The entire crew (except that manager) was simply amazing during my entire visit. Very helpful and knowledgeable and I could definitely tell that they wanted me to go in and try all the weapons i had picked out with them.In the end, thank you Kirk! Mission Ridge is perfect since there isnt any uninformed manager anymore.5 stars!************************************************INITIAL REVIEW:Terrible experience left me disgusted. I am from Canada and wanted to enjoy some quality time at a gun range. The staff was very friendly and great and started to get me all setup to shoot. Mid choosing my guns and targets, the manager shows up and says that i need a US issued ID or visa by law to shoot guns. Canadians do not require any visa to enter the USA and upon researching online i found out that he was completely wrong, as long as you are from a country that does not need a Visa to enter the US you are allowed to shoot with your ID or passport as long as you are over 18 or 21 (depending on the weapon). I ended up wasting my time settling on the archery range and virtual shooter since i was already there. I have no way of having a US government issued ID and i cannot get a visa stamp on my passport since they simply do not stamp Canadian passports. Also, i decided to call 2 other local gun ranges to see what they said about this and they both said that i am allowed to fire at a gun range with my canadian ID since i am over 21. At least know the law if you want claim to be applying it, very unprofessional.I even spoke to a state ranger that night when i left this place and he suggested me a lot of other gun ranges THAT DO OBEY AND UNDERSTAND THE LAW by the letter. The ranger was so stunned by this story he even suggested that maybe the manager does not like canadians. I believe he simply does not understand the law in his own State and that is sad.

Was told that zinc rounds were acceptable over the phone, only for them to change their mind as soon as I showed up with zinc rounds. If you have any sort of wait time for the 100yd range, dont take their offer of going to the handgun range first while waiting because they will not hold your spot even if they told you it would be ready for you in an allotted time period. I’ve been to nearly every range in San Antonio, and have been to this one several dozen times. The customer service here is top notch, the type of place you bring your mom to (which I have). I particularly like how they try to orient themselves to every kind of shooter, beginner to experienced. Instructors have given me great advice on handgun and are very competent. I have also found that they employ a wide range of people to help various kinds of shooters. At the very least this academy is the best place for new shooters and offers a wide variety of features to experienced shooters. The price may be a little higher than some places but you certainly get what you pay for here.Features: indoor draw fire, simple to complex target system, eg: moving targets which is good for competitive shooters. FANTASTIC facilities and friendly staff but too expensive. I went there knowing that but I live nearby, needed to test fire a pistol quickly, and I wanted to check it out anyway. I walked off the range at 55 minutes in order to pay for one hour ($25). But I had to wait in line 12 or 13 minutes to check out because the two guys checking people in and out were helping customers. That put me over one hour. Apparently they have a five minute grace period but my wait in line put me beyond that, so I was charged for another 15 minute increment. Thats totally unsatisfactory. My issue isnt so much the extra expense but the principle that I got charged money to wait in line.Still if u got the $ to burn, very nice set up. No cease fires to change targets. You run targets to a multitude of different ranges quickly with the automated system. Bonus: indoor so the temp is always perfect. But still...$$$.

Well, I came in to buy some shooting glasses and left with a Glock 19. This wasnt supposed to happen, and the reason it hasnt happened before is I have not been to a range or gun store that actually helped me find the right pistol for my needs. Ok, I go for the biggest canon I can find, but working with Andy, his recommendations made a compelling case for a G-19, 9-mm. He made a number of suggestions on how to modify the pistol to make it work for me, provided some pointers how to adjust my grip, shoot consistently, etc. This was all great. But what made this an exceptional experience was the professionalism, the modesty, customer focus, and constructive suggestions that make this a truly professional operation. A personal defense handgun is not a toy and shooting it is a serious investment in time and money. Having someone like Andy, and others at Mission Ride, help me make the right decisions, shoot the pistol with some level of confidence, makes all the difference in the world. Im happy because I found a firearm that fits my needs and I can shoot it with some degree of consistency. The store has generated revenue from range time, as well as the sale of the pistol, and Im interested in taking the tactical course at some point in the future. The key discriminator, here, is professionalism, objectivity, and a mission of providing safe and effective training. Great stuff!

Great HVAC keeps the air clean, its well lit and upkept, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Theres a good selection of rental handguns if youre interested in purchasing but arent sure if youll like it.

This place is like my little home away from home - a very good clean and safe place to shoot and learn. What I appreciate and value the most are the staff and team members. They are exemplary of world-class service, plus the right balance and touch of friends & family friendly-culture.Let me commend and give kudos to 10 of their many Rockstar players (from top of mind):Paul, Camilo, Armando, Andrew, Jeremy, Rey, Nathan, Aurora, Jubilee, Kaityn, and more!Be sure to come in to meet them and experience for yourself!

I went in today to sight my sons rifle for gun season starting Saturday. I was charged $48.00 to shoot in the 100 yard range. I thought that was very expensive for less than an hour. Nice facility and friendly staff but over priced. One time a year is not bad but to shoot there on a regular bases is out of the question. Buck & Does Mercantile has better rates for sure.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and state of the art facility. Competitive prices with other indoor ranges in other cities. Dont have to use their ammo like on some other ranges.Cons: No private bays for being able to move and shoot. Transition from rifle to handgun was not allowed from what I could tell.

Nice facility. Some nice employees. But stay away from Christian. He will punt you off to someone else if he can’t answer your question without even telling you. Wish I caught the last guys name. He’s even worse. I ordered a hand gun from them months ago. It never came in. I called to check in it. They admitted they made a mistake and I should of had it a long time ago. Nevertheless they try to make it right by getting me one on Monday. It gets here. They call me and I said I would make it in by Wednesday but most likely by Tuesday at 5. I couldn’t make it. I called today ( Wednesday ) to let them know I was on the way as a courtesy, they transferred me multiple times and rudely said that I didn’t make it in within 24 hours so they sold my gun to someone else. With no remedy in sight. No apology or anything. The guy who answered the phone said he didn’t know anything about my situation and then losing my order months ago due to their lack or professionalism when changing the order from paper to a computer file. This place is fun to shoot indoors but stay away from ordering anything from them as far as guns or accessories. Not only will they most likely lose your order but they do not discount or price match either. Just full blown retail prices unless you want an old model of a new weapon.

First time visiting the range. Was not explain how any of it worked or greeted on the way in. When in the range did not feel as safe as I usually do at other places. Worst of all were the rates. We were there less then an hour, for two people our total was $47. Will not be coming back way better options around town. Also the price on all guns are way over priced. If you are in the market to purchase a firearm just go across the street to academy and save yourself a lot of money and be better informed with your purchase.

Possibly one of the nicest gun / archery shops in existence. Ive been to a lot of them and consider myself a semi-gun nut....to an extent. The quality of displays, the quality of guns, and the facility itself is top notch. Where else would you find a 100 yard INDOOR range for rifle shooting. Im getting my Kimber .308 set up for an upcoming Alaska hunt and this is a great way to punch paper to get it zeroed in. They also tease you with access to a 1000 yard range through their affiliation with a local ranch. That would be cool to see!

I am not new to the shooting world but any time you go to a new gun range can be a bit off putting as I have been to some that are less than stellar with there customer experience. As I walked in to Mission Ridge first thing I noticed was how many people were working at the range and how easy it was to get help. After two visits I signed up for there membership and it is worth every penny. I now have gone from a shooter that went to the range 2 of 3 times a year and now go 2 or three times aweek. I have zero complaints and most of all I now have my place to shoot.

If youre new to shooting, rusty, or just trying to figure out what gun suits you best, I dont think youll find a better place than this.My friend had never held a gun in his life, but decided it was time to get a handgun for home protection. We were assisted by Gerard, who helped him pick out a few guns to shoot with their try 3 for $15 deal. Gerard walked him through everything step by step, even preparing him for the recoil, and giving pointers on technique/stance between shots.I ended up trying some crazy guns I hadnt even seen before, and have been improving my accuracy with the advice I received.

Brought my son to shoot in the simulator. The facility required completion of the safety video and waiver prior to using the sim, which is fine. This is a pretty quick process. However, while he was completing that task, they let someone elsw cut in front to go into the sim. That means an hour wait. We left. Never going back!

Went there for the first time on Saturday, September 23. I called first to see if they had space. The front desk folks were welcoming and helped us get oriented to procedures. The actual personnel who assign you to a lane are knowledgable and friendly. The ranges are well organized and spacious, with both good lighting and ventilation. The target track system takes a bit to get used to, its digitally set, which makes it precise, but a little tricky to figure out at first. That being said it is very convenient. The only problem I encountered was affixing the target to the back drops. They supply circular tape stickers to hold the targets, but they dont work very well. There were several us on the range who lost our targets midway through our sessions. Also, the back drop we had was shot through so that finding a place to tape on the target was not easy. Regarding pricing, they are on the expensive side compared to other ranges I use, though the layout makes up for the additional expense. However, their yearly memberships costs are very pricey, unless you plan to go every week. Their billing process, though, is very convenient. There is an initial fee, then a monthly fee. You dont have to pay for a full year up front if you dont want to. All in all, it was a great experience and I will definitely go back.

Very friendly, top-notch facility. Its the nicest range Ive ever seen. A wide selection of pistols, rifles, and accessories, with a knowledgeable staff. I came here for the first time today for my license to carry. I was so impressed, I brought my daughter back later that day when I found out they had an archery range. The free WiFi was a plus for me to work while she practiced.

I Previously gave not so good review The first time I went to the store I just looked at a handful of guns in their prices seem a bit high . After doing more research their prices were actually right on target so I went back to the store second time. Bought a gun bag and the staff there that were very nice . specifically Mr. McCarthy in the used gun section was very cool dude . We talked a bit about the used guns . I saw one I really liked and the price was actually very good compared to what other stores are and online prices are asking. Went back to the store third time this time I brought my three-year-old and the year and half old. Everybody was sure to say hello to my kids and that was pretty awesome. I went back to the used gun section and got that gun aI was looking at. We actually did a trade they appraised it at a good appraisal and I was happy with my deal that I received. They gave me the exact deal I wanted not saying that’s going to happen to everyone all the time but this time it did and I am very happy . I don’t ever give reviews and go back and change the review but this time I did . This place deserves My business and yours I encourage you all to come check out the shooting range meet the staff and if you have any questions ask .

UPDATE: I received a professional call from one of the lead managers who recognized potential areas for improvement and even mentioned how the situation could have been handled better as well as how he wants to ensure similar situations are handled in the future.I took my wife (also USAF) and 3 members of our family with little to no experience firing a handgun over to MRR. There was not a clear process for checking in other than a few signs. Luckily, I knew to get them to sign a waiver first. Prices at check-in were relatively expensive for a 25yd pistol range ($25/hr for primary; $12/hr for each additional). We were also told we couldn’t have more than 4 people on a lane, so we would be split between two adjacent lanes. Close proximity was paramount for maintaining safety in an inexperienced group. We waited a short amount of time (~30 min) before being called up to two non-adjacent lanes. We asked to wait for adjacent ones since I would be primarily responsible for teaching safety. This was “not possible” since “10 plus people” were in the queue. They did not want to leave a lane empty until an adjacent one opened. We eventually convinced the staff to let us put all 5 people on one lane. I then asked if we could get one of the adjacent lanes once they opened up. We were told this was against their policy. This is where I began to question the logic in these numerous “policies.” If the staff wanted to split our party up anyway, why couldn’t they allow the second group to take an adjacent lane once it opened? After 30 min, one lane opened up and no one used for the next 1 1/2 hrs.The range is very nice. The brass is collected in an in floor receptacle which means no dust pans are needed! The target carriage is electronic and has a flip mode to simulate friend/foe scenarios. Soundproofing was better than my range back in Louisiana, and spacing for each lane allowed me to stand next to the shooter for assistance. When we went to check out, the cashier started ringing up many various cryptic charges. After 2 hrs of shooting, our grand total was $355! I asked for a break down, and he said he needed to work his “magic” first. The price went to $200 > $208 > $160 > $119. We discussed three times that there was not two primary shooters until he realized he needed a manager’s authorization. We walked away somehow owing only $73.I will not return to this business. It might working for people wanting a formal class or a convenient all in one solution to their shooting needs. Academy and other sporting goods stores are 10-15% cheaper for both guns and ammo. I honestly don’t see the need to go to MRR unless it’s raining and you need a 100 yd range.
