First of all the staff are all helpful knowledgeable and friendly.Myself my wife and our friend all took the LTC class. Don Benton gave an Excellent class. He kept it lighthearted while still driving the most important points home. Visual aids were also excellent.On the range with assistance of brother Ron they were both extremely helpful to those that required it.No screaming and shouting(like other ranges I’ve been to in town) just good constructive criticism and guidance.We will continue to recommend Buck&Does to all we know.Definitely a five star operation.

Great spot to get the supplies to exercise your 2nd Amendment right and do a little shopping! Nice selection of smoker and cast iron supplies. Huge supply of holsters made locally. Gun range was clean and solid with reasonable rates.

I am a new gun owner, and I took a private lesson with Ron. His teaching was calm and clear. He made me feel safe and comfortable with a gun. He really prepared me for the LTC class, which I will take soon. Ron was extremely knowledgeable and happily answered even my most basic questions. Ron made the class comfortable and fun! I highly recommend Ron!

I do not recommend Buck and Does as a place to buy a new bow. I went in when it was not busy and told the staff that I was looking at buying a new bow and wanted to try out a few models Id had my eye on. I gave them a model I was interested in and the bow tech went to set it up for me to shoot. They then charged me a $10 range fee and $20 bow rental fee to try this bow out. While I waited they let me try out a release they had on display. An hour later the bow tech finally brought the bow out but told me I could only shoot it three times from less than five yards away, even though Id just paid $32 just to shoot this thing. Its important when buying to test out a few bows to see what feels best for you but this place just isnt oriented towards that.I cannot, however, speak to their other departments. The staff were polite and they do seem to carry a wide variety of merchandise. Side note though their staff spend more time with their masks off than on (written during Covid pandemic)

After just moving to Texas I was looking for a place to take the LTC 100. There are lots of options in the area, but picking Buck & Doe was the best decision Ive made! The facilities are great, the range and the RSOs were amazing. The class was the usual laws and gun safety, but Hunter did his best to add in conversation and humor to keep it from getting stale. Tons of great information, even as a refresher if youve previously had a CWP in another state. Then the added information and stories from Chad at uscca. Both gentlemen were professional, knowledgeable and very approachable. Answering every question and making sure the answer was understood before moving on. If you are looking for a place to take classes, build your skills or just getting started and have no clue what to do, go here! Never once did I get a cocky or know-it-all vibe that tends to run rampant in other gun shops. These guys are laid back and respectful, basically exactly how you expect a Texan to be.

I took a private lesson with Don. He was very informative and made me feel very comfortable with a gun. He completely prepared me for the LTC class which I took with Ron and Don. Ron was extremely knowledgeable and answered all the questions that I had. He also made it very non intimidating and entertaining. I highly recommend both Don and Ron!

This place was amazing! The customer service was great and they made you feel welcome upon entering. The range was nice and it wasn’t to crowded! We had a wonderful experience and definitely intend to return!

Man this place is the BOMB!I’ve bought several guns here, I’ve taken my LTC course here, and I’ve been to the range easily 50 times or more. This place is awesome! Friendly staff, and a VERY comfortable environment!Keep up the good work guys :)!

NO A/C in archery range. The indoor archery range seemed to also be part of a loading dock with the door closed; there was no air or ventilation of any sort. Was hot and zero circulation. Now the backdrop that catches the arrows seems to have two different materials. For standing there seemed to be an easier material to retrieve the arrows but for crossbows the bottom portion is made of a very thick rubber. I shot two bolts and it took me an easy 5-7 minutes to pull and work the bolts out. I am in my mid 30’s and can hold my own. Between the rubber and no air I was literally dripping sweat off my face, drops falling to the floor. Had a scheduled meeting afterwards and if I had not called it a day I would have showed up drenched.

Had my LTC proficiency test today with Ron, it could not have gone more smoothly. Ron was professional, efficient and safe. I really appreciated the time he spent with me to make sure all my questions were answered. Thanks Ron, I will be sending my wife and son to you when they are ready

Took my 15yr old for private instruction as a 1st time shooter with pistols (9mm Sig and .45 S/W. Ret Army Ranger, Ron Benton was his instructor. Without a doubt one of the best times we have ever had! Ron went over safety, sight alignment, stances, trigger squeeze, malfunctions and clearing. We had multiple drills, low light firing and moving targets. All with constructive feedback on how to improve with each iteration. Could not ask for a better 1st day. We will be back and my son and I have something fun to do together. The prices were very reasonable. Thank you to Ron and Buck and Does for a great outing!

They have a nice indoor gun range and they have License To Carry classes taught by terrific people!

LTC class was excellent. Instructor Ron Benton was both charismatic and informative. I was hesitant to take the class at 1st being that I dont even own a gun and rarely shoot but was relaxed and comfortable within the first 5 minutes. I usually don’t give out 5 stars because nothing and no one is perfect. However every time I have been to Buck and Does has been exceptional from the products they sell to the welcome I received when I walked through the door.I have owned several hand guns but I just bought my first AR15 and had lots of questions. Each time I visited Khalid (?) took the time to answer my questions and make me feel comfortable with my decision.Took the shooting portion of carry permit requirements after taking the class online and Ron was informative and kept the interest of all.Overall great experience. Highly recommended!

Really wish you guys would require masks to make everyone feel safe. No employees wearing masks. Had a classroom of about 30 people for the LTC and I say only 5 people had masks. Myself included. Won’t be returning until after pandemic.

This place is awesome! The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Ron and Don are fun to talk with even if you’re not buying something. They sell a wide range of guns, gear and ammo (unless people are panic buying).

This is a nice facility. Good selections of firearms and ammunition. Very nice indoor range facilities. A bit on the pricey side, but I think it’s worth the cost. The staff seems knowledgeable. My only request would be for the staff to better monitor shooters on the range. Safety can always be improved. Is the rapid fire really necessary? How about hit the target first. Then shoot quicker.

Decent selection in the store, but I laughed and walked out when I saw the price of their Winchester 231. I understand supplies are limited right now, but almost 100% markup is just wrong. Last year in November, we came to this gunderfull place with excellent staff. (we came all the way from Belgium). We were greeted warmly and went to the gun range. Brianna, the event organizer, was especially helpful when we had questions about signing up and made the experience really enjoyable. One item on my bucket list was to earn my License To Carry permit. As a complete beginner, having never fired a weapon before, I took private shooting lessons today from Ron Benton. Ron is a total professional, and made me feel comfortable right away. I am extremely pleased with all that I learned in one lesson. Highly recommended!

Nice Store, Very poor customer service. They do not deliver what they tell you they can. Every answer from the sales staff is NO and, they really dont seem to care. Their policies are not what Id call customer friendly. And, if your expecting them to bend over backwards to help you with any issues, you are at the wrong business. Id just keep driving past ! Sorry, I know its a tough review, but, The Golden Rule is pretty easy to follow if you want to retain quality customers, especially in retail.

I came here to buy my first supressor. The staff was helpful and didnt make feel like a noob in any way, helped walk me through the silencer shop kiosk process and get my paper work right. Now starts the long wait for the form approval, but no worries i was told that as soon as they get it in they would notify me and i would be able to come and shoot it at their range until my form comes back. Super cool.

Another great experience son had his first indoor archery competition. This place is awesome and their staff goes above and beyond. The staff are always involved and were helping new competitors understand how to properly score and ensure safety first.

Customer service is exceptional. Instructors for both firearms and archery are excellent. I drive 35+ minutes to come here because of the staff and the customer community they have created. Worth the drive.

Here’s what I learned so that ones trip to the gunning range is not so expensive (like mine... costing almost $100 each time).One: definitely have your own firearm (You do have to shoot some to know what you want so try a few then purchase). Gun rental does not go over $18... it’s $25 at Nardis if I recall.Two: if you are practicing, buy ammo at Walmart or Academy, I heard it’s cheaper. Also bring your own eye and ear protection.Finally three.. it MIGHT be cheaper to get a membership depending on how often you plan to shoot. The lane rental is something like $25 and if you bring s person that’s like $11.25. There is also a range fee of $25.Nardis cheapest membership is $150 bucks while Buck is $166....My first two experiences going to a Gun Range I went to both Nardis locations and it was great and helpful, I really appreciated it. Buck tends to be more for experienced shooters lol. They will help if you ask however once they’ve answered it’s “OK, have fun”. Nardis was more helpful. That last sentence does not have the tone of disappointment, just matter of fact like. The bow and arrow here is once you pay you can shoot as long as you want. Something like 15 per lane and 10 per person or something like that... you get 5 arrows.The people who work there get 4 out of 5 stars however the prices get 2 so 3.5 out of 5. I would go again!!! After going to Nardis or somewhere else. I heard a place called BlackHawk is $8 of you have your own equipment.

Buck & Does is a very nice place that can certainly scratch your latest firearms related itch. The folks there are super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and very patient with folks new to the wide world of boom-sticks. I have only visited them a few times over the past couple of years simply because I live on the exact opposite end of the San Antonio universe. However, every interaction Ive experienced there has been nothing short of friendly and informative. These folks genuinely care about whats in the customers best interests.My next investment will have to be a larger safe to accommodate my rapidly growing collection, but I guarantee that Ill be doing more business with Buck & Does in the future.

Amazing experience. I was with the Wounded Warrior Project a few weeks ago. Im not a hunter, or a gun owner, so I didnt really care about coming. I was with a group of vets, so i tagged along. Very professional, no politics bs, and extremely nice and non judgemental. The entire crew was extremely knowledgeable and I had a surprisingly good time shooting bows. I love the merchandise they offer and took him a few gifts, along with a free sticker! I highly recommend this place and next time Im in town, Ill swing by!!

Very nice indoor shooting facility. Limited to 15 yards, but this is plenty good for an indoor range. Friendly staff. Good hours of operation. I brought a new shooter to the range on my first visit and it was an excellent experience. The only thing that I am disappointed about is that steel cased ammo isn’t allowed. I really wish that I could shoot Kalashnikovs at their range, but I am not going to buy brass ammo just to shoot indoors. B&D is generous by not having a time limit on their range. Great place to shoot.

Ron and Don are amazing! I went in to purchase my first firearm and was nervous but they both showed me a selection of Glocks I was interested in buying. I was given a flyer on the membership prices so I could get the most discounts I was asking about before I decided to make a purchase. Ron worked with me for over a hour, rented me a Glock 19, got me range ammo, hearing & eye protection, and a target. He walked me thru how to take apart the firearm, handling it, loading/unloading, and more tips/tricks before I even got into the range. I felt completely comfortable having him assist me. The first time I shot I scored a 246/250 all because of the tips and ticks he recommend. He mentioned I do some research online and a few days later I came back and purchased a new Glock 45. Today, 06/06/2020 I completed the Texas License to Carry course and had Ron as my instructor. He was very informative and explained all the information perfectly. If it was not for Ron and Don I would probably never came back to Buck and Does. These two brothers are who I ask for anytime I have any questions or need assistance. Thank you both for everything!

Buck and Doe’s is the best! My family and I took introductory handgun classes. The instructors taught us every aspect of gun safety, and how to handle a handgun. Among the three of us, Buck and Doe’s provided two instructors which gave us confidence in shooting pistols for the first time. 5 Stars!

Let me start by saying that this place is very organized and clean. Have one of the most friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. Every staff member carry a firearm for safety purposes (not to show off) which that give me peace of mind and they’re well trained in case of any situation occurred. I mostly go to the Bow Range and there’s two amazing staff members (Can’t recall their names) that have so much knowledge and experience in hunting different types of games and will recommend the right accessories.

Buck and Does is by far the best indoor shooting range in San Antonio! The gun and bow shops are top notch . The only way they could improve on this establishment is to ad a Mexican food restaurant to the lineup!!

Buck & Doe’s Mercantile is by far one of the best gun stores I’ve come across. They have a little bit of everything there. Tactical, new and used guns. The staff knows their guns. They give you the facts and no pressure to buy. I finally found a place where the people treat you like a friend, not a customer. Bonus is there are no snot nosed kids aka millennials to deal with!

Excited to enter first time. Dissapointed did spend money staff was lets say less than enthuastic. Not very customer service oriented. Had to get kid off his phone to show me a gun that i certainly considered buying on the spot.. I chose not not purchase due to his rather unfriendly attitude. Customer service is a lost art.I bought ammo but wont be back.. Sorry to say. Seemed like owners put a lot into a nice place...shoulda saved some budget for sales training.

I cant say enough good things about Buck and Does. Their range is absolutely awesome! I had yet to find a well priced range that has AC AND allows me to rapid fire. I wasnt really intending on purchasing a gun during my trip, but I was walked through all their options and provided knowledgeable insight pertaining to what I was looking for. Ended up buying right then and there.This wonderful place is my new main range, and my new favorite place to shop for my next firearm, accessory, or anything else under the sun that has to do with guns!You guys do a great job, keep it up!
